Gunslingers
have become famous

for a hundred different reasons.

But Clay Allison was
different from all the rest.

I'd met him casually
two or three times

but one day, a Wells
Fargo freight shipment

consigned to Clay
Allison turned up missing

and it became my
job to call on him.

Well, Jim, am I glad to see you.

Well, the town seems
to be booming, huh?

And I thought I had to
jump on Taggert over there.

For the stolen goods, I
need it to buy new equipment.

loss is reported.

trail and was found guilty

of shooting Ned Taggert.

Clay got his gambling
equipment and made a fortune

and bought himself a fine ranch.

Well, there's one thing to add.

Clay didn't die by steel

or bullet or a rope.

He was driving home one night

after celebrating
a little too freely

and fell off of his wagon.

The horses spooked
and Clay was run over

by his own wheels

in a cloud of dust.

It was a strange end

for a strange and a proud man.
