A janissary is sent to the Rhodopes - a Bulgarian
mountain of great strategic importance.

"Janissary" is the name given
to young Christian boys,

separated by force from their parents,
raised with unimaginable cruelty

and transformed into
fanatically faithful soldiers of the sultan.

I fear not that there are enemies of
the padishah still walking the Earth.

the Romans, Bosniaks, Bulgarians, Serbs.
