Yeah, it's an ego-killer,
which most men can't handle.

Look, I might be unfairly dissing
some of the men folk here,

but maybe the orgasm gap exists
because we're all a bit hazy on,

you know, the physical details.

So, am I missing anything?

Let's get the 101 on
the power packed in our pants.

I know sexpert Marieke Dewitte will

love to get into the juicy details.

So, let's start off with
a casual question.

Is there any difference between
the male and the female orgasm?

Why is the gap so big?

We know that men and women do not
differ in their capacity

to reach orgasm,
to experience pleasure.

But only a few women, less than 30%,

can actually climax via penetration.

And that's often
where it goes wrong.

We don't get the right
sexual simulation.

The clitoris is our female
sex organ, not the vagina.

The vagina's a birth channel.

That's where...

Yeah, exactly. I mean, it's much
less sensitive than the clitoris -

which is a good thing, because
otherwise giving childbirth

would be horrifying. Oh, my God!
It would mean the end of humanity.

So, the idea that women have
less sexual desire than men

is just wrong.

It's just, they don't get
the right sexual stimulation.

Physically, the duration of an
orgasm is really short.

It takes about
20-25 seconds in women,

and about 5-25 seconds in men.

And in general, it takes longer
for women to reach orgasm.

For some women, actually,
if you continue to simulate them,

they also continue to climax.

And so, that's why women can
have multiple orgasms.

The clitoris is actually
a small penis. Yes.

It includes the glands
and a forehead,

it gets swollen during arousal.

So, in a way, women have on the
inside what men have on the outside.

Most women know that the clitoris
obviously needs to be stimulated,

or do they just think that
penetrative sex is the one

that is going to make them...?

Well, we mainly have sex in a way
that fits the male sexual script.

For a long time,
sex has been studied from

a biological perspective.

And biologists study sex
as reproduction.

So, we know a lot about the penis
and so on because that's important.

That's the one that's
giving the juice. Exactly.

I mean, if we think about
the female orgasm,

and the female sexual response,

there's so much yet we don't know.

Because we constantly have this
male gaze, looking at sexuality.

Totally. But it's also
about focusing on

your own sexual pleasure.

And that's also something that is
difficult for women because, yeah,

we are socialised to prioritise
the pleasure of the partner.

Until just a few decades ago,

people generally thought
the clitoris was this tiny,

tricky-to-access button.

Hard to stimulate, and way less of
a big deal than the penis.

Nearly 30 years after
the moon landings...

NEIL ARMSTRONG: That's one
small step for man.

..the clitoris was finally,
comprehensively mapped

in 1998 - by a woman.

And what a revelation that was.

It's roughly ten centimetres long,

and the tip is more densely packed
with nerves than the penis.

Its only known function is
to provide pleasure.

So, forget big dicks -
big clits is where it's at.

Clitoris - it exists.

Find it, use it, keep it close.

So, let's celebrate the clit and
give it the recognition it deserves.

Meet New Yorker Sophia,

It all began when she found out
that her grandma, a mother of five,

and it's not getting that.

is called the glans.

It's the bit you can see
from the outside,

It's also the pathway
to the rest of the complex,

but beautiful clitoral structure.

I put a lot of attention
into how I design the glans,

because I feel like that's
the most important part.

I mean, it feels good,
it's beautiful, and also,

we're taught not to see
and not to look closely at it.

And so, there's very few depictions
of it that are actually specific -

that's usually just, sort of,
like, this round, sort of, blob.

But if you actually look closely
at the glans, it is a shape.

And it's also very diverse,
person-to-person.

All this knowledge about
the mysterious clit

is just blowing my mind.

It's about time I saw it
in all its glory.

all about honouring this part of
the body that is often so shamed.

And I just think everyone should be
in awe of how amazing clits are.

But also, like,
being drawn to the glans.

This part activates, and then,

This is all erectile.
These are bulbs of erectile tissue.

Yeah, so these are the glands
that obviously swell, right?

Yes, exactly. And what are these?

Basically the same amount
of erectile tissue as a penis.

Also, we wake up with morning wood -

we don't even have words
for clit erection.

Isn't that crazy? That's true.

but you call it,

I think we should make new words.

It's never drawn in any

think to draw a vagina, you know?

It's ridiculous, I'm just,

Well, that's cos we're taught
to think penises are hilarious...

Clit is just like "Oh, you can't
find it, ha-ha-ha." Ha-ha-ha.

You know, having sex with other
women where I just realised, like,

how much more sensitive women are
than they think they are.

When you take your time and you
are super slow, and super soft,

you see how much more nerves
there are than a penis.

Like, it's a beautiful organ.

I mean, my son, he's 19 months old,
and he will never not know

what a clit is - and I'm very
proud about that.

This ignorance about the female body

is one big reason why women
are lagging behind men

in the pleasure stakes.

But there's another
cultural reason, too -

decades, if not centuries of
prudish and patriarchal attitudes.

We look back at times
when we all used to wear corsets and

showing an ankle was something of a
female like, you know, flirting.

But obviously, it's come
a long way since then.

I still have always felt, like,
a lot of shame about being a woman.

Shame about my vagina.

You know, just from being
a young girl and never feeling

like I was as good as a man.

For too long, women have been
made to feel bad about

both their bodies and sex.

In many countries worldwide,

talking about female sexuality
is still taboo -

including here in Lebanon.

There is definitely one thing
that unites all Arab countries -

and it's the culture of shame that
surrounds being in a female body.

It's very, very deeply embedded.

Women grew up with
such a fear around sex.

Sura and Hala have agreed
to speak to us -

as long as we hide their identities.

We always say, like, women
are expected to be very sexually

attractive, but not sexually active.

You're not the one
in control of your own body.

Who gets to call the shots?

Society does. Culture does.

And so, that causes women to totally
disassociate from their own bodies.

These two women are
bringing much-needed change,

by starting a sexual wellness
brand called Mauj.

Who is reading...the video chart?

Openly encouraging female pleasure
without getting shut down

is a massive challenge.

So, Mauj created a video series
where women send in their most

intimate stories, which are read out
by volunteers called Hikawatiers.

So, hikawati means
"storyteller" in Arabic.

This was typically a role that
only men used to play in society.

So, we came up with the idea of
flipping hikawati into the feminine.

We really wanted to find a way
to start to share women's stories,

when it came to everything
related to their body -

sexuality, masturbation,
and sexual pleasure.

If they speak up, there's a risk
that their families might hurt them.

I've always been an advocate
for women's rights.

This was an opportunity for me

to publicly speak up about
a cause I believe in.

It's harder for them to hear stories
that celebrate pleasure and orgasm.

There's still this shame of, like,

"I don't necessarily want to be
associated with that".

They're still not yet at
the level of public discourse

as easy as some of
the stories around pain.

Mauj is dedicated to helping
de-stigmatize female sexuality.

It's very difficult to find

pleasure products in the Arab world.

I just wanted to buy vibrator,
couldn't buy a vibrator.

They have created a
new intimate pleasure product

that's small and discrete.

What's really special about Deem
is that it is the first product

that's designed by
and for Arab women.

But breaking taboos can be risky,

so being discreet
is incredibly important.

We wanted Deem to be accessible and
available to every kind of woman.

Even a woman who was practising
her religious belief of not engaging

in any penetration before marriage.

We get asked a lot why our first

"Because what's more taboo

Penda N'Diaye gives women from
Black communities as safe space to

explore sexual liberation,

away from a world where they are
often sexualized by the media.

I think, for Black women
specifically, a lot of the stigmas

are just old stereotypes.

We kind of have the Jezebel,
who's the more, like, promiscuous,

or that you're aggressive,
or that you're sexually deviant.

And I think a lot of it has
to do with just our anatomy

and natural curvature.

Penda wants to break down
these stereotypes by inspiring

a confidence she feels comes
naturally to white women, -

by unlearning shame and celebrating
Black female pleasure.

So, much as I love a
bit of sex talk,

I'm respectfully
sitting this one out.

Black woman particularly
are undergoing this incredible

revolution right now,
and I think sexual identity is

a huge part of that revolution.

Knowing what feels good,
and not accepting anything less.

Today, the women are giving their
