These are the user uploaded subtitles that are being translated: 0 0.0 --> 7.0 Now for the last part of this tutorial I wanted to talk about some of the next steps that you can take after this course to continue learning on your visual effects journey. 1 7.0 --> 13.0 Now don't worry about following along for this tutorial, I'm purely just using DaVinci Resolve and all this for demonstration purposes. 2 13.0 --> 16.0 But as you can see right here we have everything that I rendered out of Blender. 3 16.0 --> 20.0 And so this is exactly what we just went over and you know everything there. 4 20.0 --> 25.0 Now if I disable this, this is what is achievable inside of other aspects. 5 25.0 --> 31.0 And so for this specific shot I used Nuke to actually composite and then I used DaVinci Resolve for the color. 6 31.0 --> 34.0 And so this is where you can really start to break apart your visual effects workflow. 7 34.0 --> 40.0 If I kind of scrub throughout this you can see A, it's much more accurate looking to how it would be filmed in real life. 8 40.0 --> 46.0 The colors pop a lot more in my opinion, especially if I kind of zoom into the planet in the background. 9 46.0 --> 50.0 You'll notice it's night and day, this is the Blender version and then this is the Nuke version. 10 50.0 --> 56.0 We're getting a lot more kind of quality in the clouds and a lot more compositing effects right there. 11 56.0 --> 61.0 Also you'll notice I was able to add some more haze and some more atmosphere into this environment. 12 61.0 --> 68.0 And Nuke again that's very hard to do inside of Blender because Blender for compositing is not really my favorite program. 13 68.0 --> 73.0 It's totally fine to get the job done for simple kind of shots and stuff like that. 14 73.0 --> 79.0 However if you're getting more advanced there's a lot more stuff you can do in other programs such as After Effects. 15 79.0 --> 83.0 As Nuke, even DaVinci Resolve has a fusion section which you can use. 16 83.0 --> 88.0 So I highly recommend that your next steps should really be focusing on compositing. 17 88.0 --> 93.0 Compositing is going to take your shot up to the next level no matter what you're doing. 18 93.0 --> 100.0 I mean literally when I'm doing my own visual effects shots I probably spend half the time in Blender. 19 100.0 --> 109.0 The other half the time I'm spending in compositing really breaking down the shots and adding a lot more atmospheric stuff to it. 20 109.0 --> 112.0 So again highly recommend you guys check out compositing. 21 112.0 --> 117.0 So next I'll actually go inside of my Nuke project so I can show you guys what some of the capabilities are. 22 117.0 --> 121.0 So again don't be overwhelmed by this. Also this is super unorganized. 23 121.0 --> 125.0 I wasn't going to give this out to anybody so I didn't bother with organizing it. 24 125.0 --> 128.0 So that's why it looks like a total mess over here. 25 128.0 --> 132.0 But purely I just want you guys to focus over here into our viewer section over here. 26 132.0 --> 136.0 So this is the final kind of thing that we did inside of Nuke. 27 136.0 --> 138.0 You can see that we have all of this result. 28 138.0 --> 141.0 So let's go ahead and break it down a little bit. 29 141.0 --> 144.0 So up here we have our ship path. 30 144.0 --> 147.0 So you can see I'm doing the exact same thing that we're doing inside of Blender. 31 147.0 --> 151.0 I'm color correcting it. I'm adding some blur like that to actually match it to the foreground. 32 151.0 --> 156.0 And then over here I'm actually adding in our reflection in the water and stuff like that. 33 156.0 --> 158.0 And so we're doing pretty much the exact same thing. 34 158.0 --> 161.0 You can even see that we have luminance keys over here and all that. 35 161.0 --> 165.0 And so that is a super similar thing that we're doing inside of Blender. 36 165.0 --> 169.0 The nice thing about Nuke is that since it's catered much more to compositing, 37 169.0 --> 171.0 you can do a lot more stuff. 38 171.0 --> 176.0 And so down here I went ahead and added some more fog and some haze in our scene. 39 176.0 --> 179.0 So this is what all these nodes are over here for. 40 179.0 --> 183.0 So you can see that we're having a lot more atmosphere and stuff in our shot. 41 184.0 --> 190.0 Especially in the background where our ship is and some fog and stuff by our lake down here. 42 190.0 --> 192.0 So it just adds some more depth to it. 43 192.0 --> 195.0 The biggest thing over here, if I go to the planet section, 44 195.0 --> 200.0 you can see the planet side over here is actually much more accurate. 45 200.0 --> 202.0 And that's because this luminance key down here, 46 202.0 --> 205.0 we were able to get much more accurate masking and stuff inside. 47 205.0 --> 209.0 Again, Blender is notorious for not having that great of compositing. 48 209.0 --> 212.0 So that's why I highly recommend you guys check out Nuke 49 212.0 --> 216.0 or if you want a cheaper option, After Effects is totally viable and stuff like that. 50 216.0 --> 220.0 Again, it's just going to increase the amount of stuff that you can actually push with compositing. 51 220.0 --> 225.0 Again, I just want to put that out there that compositing is perhaps the most important thing in visual effects. 52 225.0 --> 229.0 And so I constantly hear people coming to me when in Blender 53 229.0 --> 231.0 and wondering why their renders don't look as good as mine. 54 231.0 --> 233.0 And it's really to do with the compositing. 55 233.0 --> 240.0 It's because I'm spending more, if not the same amount of time in compositing as I would inside of Blender. 56 240.0 --> 245.0 So hopefully that gives you guys a little bit more insight into how visual effects pipelines 57 245.0 --> 248.0 and that workflow can be developed and stuff like that. 58 248.0 --> 254.0 And really you shouldn't be using Blender as kind of the end-all-be-all method for visual effects and everything. 59 254.0 --> 259.0 You really should be taking other programs that are more designed for specific use cases 60 259.0 --> 262.0 and using that in your own workflow. 61 262.0 --> 264.0 And so here is that final shot that I took. 62 264.0 --> 269.0 Again, my workflow was rendering all the CG out of Blender like I had shown you. 63 269.0 --> 274.0 But instead of taking it back inside of Blender for compositing, I went into Nuke to combine everything, 64 274.0 --> 277.0 add some atmosphere, make sure everything was accurate. 65 277.0 --> 283.0 And then finally I took that final render into DaVinci Resolve to do a final color grade 66 283.0 --> 285.0 and make sure all of that was accurate there. 67 285.0 --> 294.0 And so hopefully this has encouraged you to try other programs and work your own workflow to make awesome content like this. 68 294.0 --> 296.0 It's super cheap now. 69 296.0 --> 300.0 I remember when I was first starting it, everything was very expensive. 70 300.0 --> 306.0 However, now there's a lot of cheaper options such as DaVinci Resolve and Blender if you want to stick for free 71 306.0 --> 308.0 and stuff like that that you can totally try out. 72 308.0 --> 314.0 And I highly recommend that you guys explore some more courses that go over specific use cases and stuff like that. 73 314.0 --> 318.0 But anyways, thank you guys so, so much for learning with me. 74 318.0 --> 320.0 And hopefully you guys have grown in your skills. 75 320.0 --> 322.0 I know we covered a lot of content in this course. 76 322.0 --> 325.0 And really this is just the tip of the iceberg. 77 325.0 --> 327.0 Again, this was kind of a beginner course. 78 327.0 --> 330.0 We were able to get an amazing shot like this. 79 330.0 --> 335.0 But there is so much more to be learned inside of Blender for specific use cases and stuff like this. 80 335.0 --> 338.0 But this will get you probably 80% of the way there. 81 338.0 --> 344.0 And the final 20% is really on you guys to make it look as realistic as possible 82 344.0 --> 348.0 and really get into your own artwork and your own art style and stuff like that. 83 348.0 --> 351.0 So again, thank you guys so, so much for sticking along with me. 84 351.0 --> 358.0 I hope this course has been informative and you are ready to continue your Blender journey in the future. 85 358.0 --> 362.0 But anyways, thanks so much and I will catch you when I see you again. 8844
