for the Elohim
and their representative on Earth.

The others practiced abstinence.

The Pink Feathers
signed a contract

where they committed themselves
to be sexually exclusive with Raël.

never to refuse him.

what surprised them most
about the Raëlians.

liked the subject of my report.

Do they really believe that there are
some cloned babies somewhere?

I don't believe it.

After the human cloning hoax,

the media... were resentful.

So, it was almost like revenge.

At that point,
we were all very aggressive...

the whole claim

that they'd cloned this baby,
and there was an actual baby.

And he found himself
very much on the defensive.

...if there is any evidence.

Have you seen...

Do you know of anyone

who has met the parents
or seen the baby?

That's the question,
tha... that until there are proofs,

it's good to have doubts.

And, I am, like everybody,
waiting for proofs from, uh...

I trust Dr. Boisselier,

so I think, uh, there is,
because I have no reason to doubt her.

It was ridiculous.

This investigation had an impact
which was very constructive, I think.

Informing people on the dangers of sects,

can be vulnerable.

It's important for people to know,

and for parents to know

what their children are getting into

when they go to a Raëlian meeting.

I think I contributed to making them,

at least in Quebec,

persona non grata.

Some public institutions got involved,

and started looking into
the various advantages

that the Raëlian movement was receiving,

because as a Church,

they weren't paying any taxes.

And some police services
looked more closely

into the affairs of the Raëlians.

It became much more difficult for Raël
to carry on like business as usual.

He was cornered.

The movement began to decline.

Raël packed his bags and left.

He gave up the property he bought
for less than $200,000 in the late '80s.

I remember a lot of Raëlians were lost,

because they felt Raël
had really let them down.

It felt like a giant balloon
that deflated instantly.

It all just vanished.

And he left Canada for Japan, in 2007.

If they think they can stop me,

If they think killing me
will stop the movement, it's opposite.

It will be the most wonderful advertising
for the movement.

that it was all a load of hot air,

that it was really all just a big hoax?

It's possible.

At this point, what's clear to me

is that Raël couldn't care less

whether human cloning succeeded or not.

All he really cared about was publicity.

It's a pattern.
