Dot com, dot net, dot org.

There are so many dot extensions these days that you can choose from.

And I get asked whether dot com is absolutely essential.

I would say if you can get the dot com, then yes, by all means take it.

It still is the default domain extension.

When people look for a site, they don't know what the extension is.

They're going to type in dot com.

But if you really found a name that you like and the dot com isn't available, don't worry, just take

another domain extension.

So having put in the dog of Dora's, in my case, what I need to do then is just to check to see if

it's available.

So here I click on search and then, as you can see, congratulations.

The domain, the dog stories dot com is available.

So if you don't see this, you'll need to go back and choose a different domain.

Then all we need to do is to fill in what is quite a simple form.

So the first thing is the account information.

Just need to choose an email and a password, then put in your own personal information, your name,

address, etc. Choose how you're going to pay and then go down to here.

Now for the location, you can probably just accept what's already there by default.
