welcome back to a new sundog video this

time I want to show you a nice way to

spice up your songs and we will do this

by using different chord voicings for

different instruments so let's take a

look in many songs it's a good idea to

start with a nice chord progression

when you know the cards you can use them

for different instruments for example

for piano line

off on a patio or for baseline you can

use sand dog to create such melodies

very quickly you start with chords

and then you create melodic rhythms that

follow your chord notes automatically

in my example the courts are quite nice

for the base and for the keys

but sometimes the so called voicing of

the courts doesn't fit as you see we got

some fairly big jumps over here the

lowest note of the courts is jumping up

and down all the time however sometimes

you want to work with smaller changes to

do this you simply use in the same court

notes but put them in a new order sumner

contains a special feature that can help

you to create such changes very quickly

let's create a new instrument that

follows the cause

okay let's click on advanced and now we

see a page that contains a big chord

effect section Accord effect is an

effect that transforms the chord notes

in different ways

let's pick invert close to scale root

now

so this effect will automatically invert

the cause until the lowest nodes are

close to VF let's export of a MIDI file

now let me show you another trick let's

start with a new instrument follow the

chords click on advanced and choose

invert close to scale root now in a

second step we need to pick another

effect choose apply global cloud matte

one as you can see there is a new row of

buttons now click on global Court not

one and you will get to a new page

cotton watts are very useful to create

rules for the different notes of a chord

for example it's very common to open a

chord opening your chord means that you

move in the middle note one octave up I

pick the preset open one click on OK

and okay

and now let's export the mini file first

let's take a look at our previous

instrument as you can see the notes are

very close to each other and now the

open calls there is much more space

between the notes

later on and then I want to show you a

different way to achieve similar results

I create a song part copy

and instead of the jumpy courts I let's

unlock transform the chords to a more or

less flat chord progression

now let's listen to the song and

especially to the baseline

for my ears the baseline sounds rather

off the other sounds are okay but the

baseline could be very more melodic so

let's take a look at the chord effects

again choose set to close root position

calculated now sonic will try to find

the best matching standard chord

enclosed root position
