All language subtitles for 2.5 360 Wrap Around - Drone Pro Academy

What's up, guys?

Next shot is the 360 wraparound.

If you just watch the last shot,
it's very, very similar to the 180 some.

Right? 360.

Now, I'll make this shot a little bit
different.

Is the service
doing a 180 around the object?

We are going to go all the way around

from start to finish.

Now, this can be a very,
very difficult shot to do

whenever you try and do it.

This is what happens.

You start going around
and then your circle gets bigger

and then you come back and it gets closer
and then your camera operator

or yourself is trying to track the object.

And it's very, very hard

if you're not in a perfect circle
to kind of keep it right there.

So one tip

that I've used before

for these shots
is to try and get as close as you can.

This is if you're doing it manually.

So if you're trying to do this shot
manually, you want to try

and get kind of as close as you can

to the circle

or just to the place
where you have perspective of,

you know, around the object.

Another thing that can help is if you look
at the screen of what you're shooting.

So if you're watching your camera off
or operator screen

or you're watching your own screen,
just watch it and kind of see

how how it looks.

So I shot a 360 wraparound shot in Iceland
and this is our starting

framing right
here. So we have kind of this

this thing right here.

And then Devin Graham
is standing here with his thing

and then the hill goes up here
and we've got a waterfall

back here.

Now, on the Shot,
I was actually standing to the far right,

just out of frame right here
with my little controller, as you can see.

And so I was able to keep us out of it.

And I made sure one one trick is
I didn't want us to be in the shot.

Our whole crew was standing here.

So that would have kind of
ruined the shot.

So what we did, as I told my camera
operator park a while back, I said, okay,

so I'm going to set up the shot low
right here for for the beginning.

And then as we went,
I climbed higher, very slowly went higher.

And then did my wraparound

and then came back to
right where we are at.

And so as it went higher, that made it

my camera operator Parker
so that he had to tilt down

to keep Devin in the frame
and then ended up cropping us out.

So that's one trick to not get yourself
in the shot on the 360 shots.

But yeah, very tricky shot.

It was the only time in Iceland
when it wasn't like snowing, raining

and super windy that we couldn't fly
and the sun came out

and it was like the first time
it happened on like the two week trip.

So it was cool.
We had two takes out of it.

We ended up nailing it.

The second take and the first take
was really, really cool as well.

But a really cool thing
that I just started doing recently

is something called Puli,
which is point of interest,

and it's something
that the DJI stuff can do with 3D.

Our solo can do it, and a lot of the other
new drones can do it too.

But I mess with it

for the first time, and I have to say
I'm pretty darn impressed with it.

It's very, very cool.
I have a tutorial on how to do it.

I should go and check it out.

But what it means is you basically

take the drone
above the spot that you want to film.

So let's say that we've got
we've got a person right here

or a car.

We'll turn that into a person in a car.

We'll just keep it safe, shall we?

And so what you do is you take the drone

over the top of whatever you want to film.

You set a button
and then you pull out and you hit go,

and the drone will automatically start
moving without you even touching it.

And it will just
you can change the speed of it.

You can also purchase six forward
or backwards and it will actually

moving closer, but keep a distance.

I mean, it'll get too close
so you can kind of do this

and then you can also pull
back on the sticks and it will pull out,

make for some very, very cool shots.

So if you haven't checked out
the PI feature, I highly recommend that.

And this honestly makes the 360 wraparound
shot very, very doable,

very, very easily.

Only drawback is if there's trees
in the way or something like that.

You know,

the sound

that some of the drones are coming out

that have the technology
to avoid that stuff.

But yeah, you want to make sure
it's kind of a clear area.

And then the Puli is very, very cool.

You want to make sure that you keep it
slower paced because I notice the faster

that you go, the gimbal has a hard time
kind of keeping up with it.

All right, guys,
I'm going to go out right now

and teach you guys
how to do this in the film.

All right.

This is a three, six year wraparound.
This is the shot.

That is a lot of drones
are making it easier to use now.

But this was in New Zealand.

I think the only time the sun came out,

the wind stopped
and it wasn't snowing or rain.

And so we grabbed the shot.

We got it in two takes, but I was.

Flying and.

Then my buddy Parker was camera
operating for me on this for Fly the Red

and we do a nice slow 360.

There's Mr.

Devin Supertramp there on the edge
and he just chills there as we wrap around

and it makes for a very, very cool shot.

It was up, guys.

Today I'm gonna teach you
how to do the 360 shot the very easy way

using point of interest
with the DJ Phantom.

It should also work with the Inspire.

I just tried it out
honestly, like 10 minutes ago

and I'm really impressed with it.

I haven't checked out the footage yet,
but the usability and the ease of

shots you can get is just amazing.

So there we go.

Yeah.

Hey, guys. There we go. We got our pilot
app right here.

What we're going to do,
first thing is you need to go to your menu

and then we're going to go to where
you need to change the settings.

So here this is
what it's going to look like on yours.

Look like this.

You want to keep turn off beginner mode.

We're going to go to advanced settings,

we're going to turn on
multiple flight modes.

So we want to make sure that is turned on.

That's going to allow us

to do our point of interest,
move care and go out of there.

And then now we're going
to take our switch on the back right here.

We're going to turn it to the F as F,
turn to the F,

and that's going to give us our point
of interest menu thing right here.

So I'm going to click on that

and then we can hit point of interest
and it says, Please take off.

So you have to take off first.

So here we go, taking off,

take one.

Okay, So I'm going to pop it up

that like.

So I think you have to get it
so high to be able to turn it on.

So I'm going to turn on
the point of interest mode.

It tells you
what your current altitude is.

This is fly that aircraft to the above
the subject of interest

and set the position
as a point of interest.

Okay.

So I'm going to wrap around
this smokestack right here.

So what that means
is I'm going to put my camera

straight down, so I'm going to put
it straight down right now.

Yeah.

So we're straight down.

I'm going to fly up

and over the top.

Okay.

So now I need to record on this thing on

recording.

Right? Okay.

All right.

So now I'm on top of it,

looking straight down.

We want to get totally centered with it,
and I'm going to record the poi boom.

Okay, That is recorded now.

Now it says the aircraft will circle.

And I will circle the pie at a slow speed.

You commonly just
the circling rate is altitude speed

by moving the control sticks
and adjusting the sliders.

Okay, so now what we're going to do
is you notice I'm going to pull away now.

I'm going to use my use my controls for
pulling away and it's changing the radius.

Now we're at 13 feet

are going to go a little bit closer.

We're at 41 feet away now

and I'm going to readjust

you now.

Going to drop it down a little bit lower
because I want to

get some of our gorgeous mountains
skyline here.

So I'm dropping it down.

I'm going to tilt up a little bit.

There we go.

Look at those mountains back there.

Yeah.

So I'm going to pull back
a little bit now.

I'm just going to drop it down
a little bit more.

Okay?

Okay. So here we go.

I'm going to look over here.

I want to make sure
I'm not going to hit anything.

Cam Well above everything,
so it looks like I'm good.

Okay, so we got that set right there.

Now I'm going to hit apply
and it should start our move.

Now. You can also change the speed here.

Anti-Clockwise or clockwise.

If you move the side to the right
in the clockwise, as you can see,

change it up to 15 miles an hour
if you want to.

But it doesn't get very good for us.

If you go over that fast,
I'm going to bring it down to like a 4.7

and I'm going to hit apply
and it should go anti-clockwise.

So here we go.

It says the aircraft will return to home

at 30 meters up because our current
altitude is 20, 23 meters.

So that sounds good to me.

Yeah.

So it should be moving now.

There we go.

So it just kind of does its thing.

It's doing it all by itself right now.

And if you get in trouble,
you can totally take control and stop it.

You can hit the pause button if you want.

So check that out.

Just nice, smooth footage.

We're going to speed up a little bit here.

I'm actually I'm going to stop it, so
I'll bring it down so it goes really slow.

I'm going to go clockwise

and now I'm going to go the other way.

I think the faster

you go, the jerk,
your kind of shots, you you get. So

this is the bit where you that

very pupil settings.

Okay so we're going to do

now is I'm going to pause it.

Actually I'm not I'm going to go
I'm gonna switch it to the other mode

and something I'm going to do
is I'm going to push forward.

I want to push forward
as we come up to it.

So it'll be, it'll circle it.

But watch this.

We're going to get nice and close

turn not to hit it.

Watch out for that.

So I'm going around it right now.

And as you watch
as I get around the back side of it,

we're going to be able to pull away

and make for first super shot.

So here we go.

I'm pulling away,

going away, pulling away.

So the awesome thing about this

is it just rotates for you and then
you can control forward and backwards.

And this has been out for a while,
but I've never tried it until now

and I'm really quite happy with this.

So this is very, very cool.

So that's pretty much it, guys.

But let me show you
something about landing.

So I'm going to pause this.

Okay. So I paused.

It is okay.

So one thing, if you if you do stay

in the rotation mode,

watch this.

I'm going to bring it down.

Let's say

like I'm going to try and land it right.

But it only goes so far

and it won't allow you to land.

So first of all, we're going
to film Creighton right now,

watch him fall,

run into Devin Graham's car.

Right.

Okay.

So what you had to do to land it
then is yet if you have to hit exit

so exit is that it's going to hover

and then now we can we can land it

the way would you want to land it.

You've got this kind of thing.

Yeah.

So we're going to, we're going to see
how this plays out right here.

I'm all right.

Yeah.

All right, guys.

That's pretty much it.

You can see through land
Super sweet feature.

So you want to make sure, of course,
you're not flying around.

People like large groups of people

don't fly around things
you're not supposed to fly around.

But it was super easy to make it happen.

So guys play,
to be honest, is really quite amazing.

That's my first time using it today
and I'm really kind of blown away

about how easy it was to get a 360 shot
that worked

the same for a 180 shot as well. Um,

but yeah, so definitely give it a shot
if you guys haven't tried it out yet.

Really good for real estate,

you know, filming smokestacks
and kind of any anything you want, man.

It's just really, really cool.
