The decline in Singapore's birth rate
over the last 20 years
has resulted
in a serious shortage of manpower in the National Service.
We have therefore decided
to enlist women
above the age of 20
in the armed forces.
Women do not have the same physical strength as men.
Should they have to undergo the same Basic Military Training Program
as men?
In a high-tech combat environment,
there are many roles suitable for women
which do not require
a high degree of physical strength.
Calling up women for NS will take them temporarily out of the workforce.
For the training and punishment of female recruits,
will it carry the same standard as male recruits?
And training these young women
to become nurses
might be more pressing
than training more soldiers.
Whether women
should serve in the NS,
it should only be
for a time of critical national need
and when we have no other choices.
We all love our children.
But when it comes to a critical moment like this,
I encourage everyone
to look at the matter from a wider perspective.
Without an effective National Defense,
the freedom that we dream of,
our progress,
prosperity,
economic growth,
work,
family,
and lives
will all be in jeopardy.
Everywhere we go
- Everywhere we go - Everywhere we go
People want to know
- People want to know - People want to know
Who we are
- Handsome, right? - Handsome.
- Hello. - Hi, sir.
- Hi. - Hi.
Hello.
She's not as good-looking as me.
- See. - No.
How are all of you doing?
- Hello, good. - Hello, good.
Welcome to Girls Basic Training Military Centre.
To welcome you ladies to GBMT,
we have food specially delivered for you.
There's food.
There's food.
Thank you.
What's in there?
What is this?
Come help yourselves, ladies.
- Thank you. - Thank you.
Come ladies, help yourselves.
- Thank you. - Thank you.
Please eat more.
In the meantime,
I would like to introduce ourselves.
I am your PC,
Second Lieutenant, Roxanne Tan.
Ma'am, you are just like me.
Beautiful and gorgeous, but you lose out to me by a bit.
Okay.
She is your Section Commander,
Sergeant Lily Lee.
He is your Platoon Sergeant,
Sergeant CK Chow.
Hello, everyone. I am Sergeant Chow.
But when you are all angry, please don't call me Chow Sergeant.
- Chow Sergeant. - Chow Sergeant.
Okay. Anyway, you are the first batch of female NSF recruits.
- Are you all happy? - No.
Why aren't you happy?
It's okay, we are very open-minded.
Feel free to share your thoughts.
Can we really say the "tru"?
- What? - The truth.
Of course you can say the truth.
- You won't scold me? - No, we won't scold you.
- Really? - Confirm.
Chop?
Chop!
You can speak first.
Recruit, stand up and introduce yourself.
Hi, Sergeant. Recruit Joey here.
Please share with us your thoughts.
Well, you know, I never thought
that I will be an NSF one day.
I just thought of marrying a guy,
give birth to children, and live a simple life.
Yes.
That is also my simple dream.
Hello, sir. I am Recruit BQ.
- Brother. - Recruit.
You called me Brother?
You're supposed to call me Sergeant
and call her ma'am.
- Understand? - Okay.
Sergeant.
Hello, my name is Recruit Lau Lan Lan.
What are you guys laughing about?
Sergeant, you see.
Life is already very tough.
Your question is very difficult to answer.
I can't earn enough to feed myself outside.
I earn such a paltry sum here.
It is very tough.
You should know
that we are BTC.
BTC?
Low educational level!
I am a very simple person.
I just want to come in
and complete my duties to the nation.
I want to go all out on my work outside.
I do not want to waste my time here, really.
A round of applause, please.
- Good. - Okay.
Yes.
Hi, my name is Recruit Chow Ai Lian.
For me, it's because I owe loan sharks a lot of money.
This NS came just in time to give me
a place to hide.
The army is very safe because there are guards and guns.
- Yes. - Yes.
Hello.
- Watch it. - Lose weight.
I am Recruit Yuan Yuan Yuan.
I am a mother of one child,
just like her.
So girls,
even I have to come for NS.
So you can see how serious the problem of manpower shortage in Singapore is.
Don't complain, okay? Even I am called up.
Don't worry.
We go through it together.
Go through it together.
Caring for one another.
Recruit, how about you? What's your name?
I am Recruit Amanda, Sergeant.
So any thoughts?
It's okay, I like it.
So cool, she's so fierce.
Okay, what about you?
I am Recruit Goh Bee Bee.
As far as NSF for girls is concerned,
I think that national defense
is everyone's responsibility.
Not just the men's.
So we should not shirk
the responsibility of playing our part
for our national defense.
It is just not fair.
Sergeant, I thought we have another Aloysius Jin here.
By the way, I am Recruit Mani Peh.
- Yes. - Thank you.
- Recruit. - You called me Recruit?
Sorry, Sergeant.
I am Recruit Princess See.
I don't think we need to serve in NS
because you know that famous movie,
I Not Stupid.
There is one word that is very interesting.
- One line. - One line.
It's very interesting.
If you put rubbish in the right place,
it is a "sauce".
- Resource. - Resource.
A resource put in the wrong place is rubbish.
So here, I am rubbish.
Can I go home tomorrow or even now?
Very funny, Recruit.
- Recruit, how about you? - Hello, Sergeant.
I am Recruit Zhang Li.
I feel that
doing what we can
is our duty.
Sisters, let's do our best.
Let's do our best.
Good.
Ma'am, Sergeant. I am Recruit Chng.
What's your full name?
Monica Chng.
- Embarrassing. - Nice name.
Ma'am, I don't mind joining the NS to protect Singapore.
But will the army protect my nails, skin, and face?
Sergeant, I am Recruit Bobo Chia.
Technology is so advanced nowadays.
We can use AI robots to fight the war.
Why do we still need humans?
Especially girls, right?
Right.
- True. - Thank you.
Sergeant, Recruit Kamala.
I think I am not against serving in the NS.
In fact, my brother, my father, and my uncle
were all officers in the NS.
So they are hoping that I will become an officer as well
and that's a challenge I am giving myself.
As far as NS is concerned,
I am 50-50.
I mean,
it disrupts my plans for university.
But on the other hand,
I am quite curious what military training is like
for women like me.
- Who are you? - Who are you?
I am Recruit Fatimah.
- Hi. - Good.
Thanks for all your views.
I know you ladies are from different backgrounds,
sharing different perspectives about NS.
But for me,
NS is not only about the military training,
but it's a place where friendships are built.
Just like you,
bonded together as one.
So please,
cherish these three months of training together.
- Okay? - Okay.
Right.
By the way, you don't need to use that anymore
to prevent the mosquitoes.
Because this bunk
is being painted with anti-mosquito properties paint.
Our army is doing its best to protect you as much as possible.
All right, ladies.
To prepare for your stand by bed, I will show you how to pack your cabinets
according to GBMT standards.
Is that understood?
- Yes. - Yes.
I'm very happy to be surrounded by so many beautiful ladies.
- Thank you. - Thank you.
Very nice lash extensions.
Can all of you show me your fingernails?
Very nice.
You'd better kiss them goodbye tonight
because tomorrow,
all of your fingernails have to look like this.
- So ugly. - I don't want.
Anyway, I am going to show you how to tie your shoelaces.
Can anyone lend me your boots?
Me.
Sergeant.
Thank you.
So I will show you guys.
But before I proceed,
please have your food while it's still warm.
- Can we? - Yes, go ahead.
- Thank you. - Thank you.
Let's start.
Hello?
Are you okay, Recruit BQ?
Okay.
Section 2 has 15 girls.
All of them seem very friendly.
I think I am very lucky.
Section 2.
Section 2.
- Good evening, Sergeant Lee. - Good evening, Sergeant Lee.
You all may use your handphone now for 30 minutes.
- Yes! - Thank you, Sergeant.
Hello, Mommy. I miss you so much.
What are you doing?
Yes, I am speaking English purposely.
I want to learn English now,
so I am speaking it as much as possible.
I think the military equipment should be upgraded,
so that we can save time and be more efficient.
They should focus on this aspect.
Listen, I have a batch of products which are top sellers.
Help me sell them and I will share the commission.
I already have my own products to sell.
- What do you sell? - Skincare.
No clash, but you'd better not report me.
- Okay. - Girl.
Mommy is in the army already.
Gun?
No, it's only our first day today.
After they issue it, I will show you, okay?
The training camp is so far away.
Can you complain and ask them to change my camp
to somewhere nearer to our house?
Best if it is within walking distance.
Actually, everything is okay.
Platoon Commander and Sergeant are all very friendly.
Nothing like what you said. Very friendly.
It's a little weird, but I'll be fine.
You have my word.
Let's go, quickly.
Quick.
Mom.
I miss your cooking.
The food here doesn't taste good.
How about you come here and cook for me?
Daddy.
Sergeant? He is a nice guy.
Gentleman and handsome.
I'm scared I'll fall in love,
just like in a Korean drama.
Okay, that's all for tonight.
Good night, bye. I love you.
Joey, life doesn't start nor end with me.
All that we have shared are moments I will never forget.
But it is time to move on.
Move on? But I am not ready to move on without you.
Maybe because it's your first relationship.
But when you get over me,
you will appreciate what I am doing.
It's all for your own good.
It's for my own good?
- Yes. - Good evening, guys.
Are you ready to make your order?
You look a bit familiar to me.
- Sir? - Coffee, thank you.
Coffee. And for ma'am?
Bloody Mary.
Bloody Mary. It's a splendid choice.
Would you like it to be extra spicy?
As spicy as it can get.
All right, I'll be right back. Enjoy your evening.
You want me to appreciate you for breaking up with me?
Like what? Get you a gift?
Joey, listen.
I think we are living in two different worlds.
But…
Please leave your message after the tone.
Joey, are you crying? What happened?
Can you speak Chinese?
Sorry, I can't speak Chinese.
Luckily, I can speak English.
Are you crying because of NS?
No, I broke up with my boyfriend.
It's okay.
Out with the old and in with the new, right?
Yes, Joey.
Just stay with us and you will forget him very soon.
Are you sure?
Can I earn a lot of money?
Show me your products.
Don't be impatient. I will show you later.
It's good stuff and I have tons of it.
Serious.
I am sure it will sell like hotcakes.
Close the door.
I have that too.
Hello, Section 2.
I have some good stuff for you all.
Come and have a look.
It's 10 minutes to 10 p.m.
Section 2, 10 minutes to light out.
Please come and have a look.
Have a look.
This a health supplement from Holistic Way.
This joint collagen protects your knee.
- "Knee"? - "Knee"?
The one in English, not Mandarin.
With this, you will not get tanned.
It's the savior of female recruits.
We all like to look beautiful.
- Right? - Free?
Free? Are you mad?
I can guarantee the best price in Singapore.
No one can fight.
Free of charge! Come and see, girls.
I have something for you. Come.
Same products.
Yes, they are the same, but free.
Damn it!
Hello, for free?
- For real? - Yes.
Gosh. How can I do business if you do this?
Sister, she is doing business over there.
You doing this is not good.
Yes, people are trying to earn money.
Didn't your mother teach you?
My mother taught me.
She said to give this away to help people.
You have a lot of them too.
You can also bring this to give people and help them.
It makes us you, me,
and everybody happy.
- Free? - Yes. Free.
Do you dare eat this? It's free.
Eat it if you dare.
- It's free. - You can just take it.
It's original.
Really, take them. Free of charge.
- Do you want it? - No, thank you.
You don't?
Section 2, lights off.
Section 1, lights off!
- Lights off! - Lights off!
These ladies have such a good life.
What time is it already?
They are all still sleeping.
My section too.
Ma'am, do you want us to wake them up?
No.
We shall see
what time they will wake up.
Wake up!
Section 2, wake up!
Good.
- Wake up! - Wake up!
- Wake up! - They're awake.
Hurry up.
Wake up!
Stop sleeping!
- Hello? Princess? - Wake up!
Faster, wake up.
Wake up.
Wrong.
Wake up, please.
Are you all ready?
- Yes. - Yes, Sergeant.
Showtime.
- Platoon 5! Hurry up, fall in! - Hurry up!
Hurry up, the sun is already up!
- Platoon 2, what time is it now? - Hurry up!
- Hurry up! Run! - Come on!
Keep going!
- Come out! - You move slower than my grandmother!
- Keep going! Right now! - Hurry up!
Keep going!
- Hurry up! - Faster!
Hurry up and fall out in front of us!
- This side. - Faster, hurry up!
- Hurry up! - Move, hello!
- Hurry up! - My grandmother can move better than you!
- Hurry up! - Hurry up!
Hurry up!
Platoon 5.
I'm very disappointed with all of you!
What the hell is this?
Now, I know.
Sergeant Chow is really Chow Sergeant.
I think our life is going to be very bad.
Ladies, let me remind you.
You are in the army.
Not staycation or holiday camp.
And you.
Recruit Princess See.
What the hell is this?
Don't worry, Sergeant.
I am half-dressed today. I will be fully dressed tomorrow.
Give me 20 now!
My wallet is upstairs.
Can I PayNow you?
Platoon, listen up.
When I say give me 20 or drop 20,
I want you to clap and shout "bravo"
before you do your push-ups.
Drop 20 now!
Yes, Sergeant!
Drunk!
One, Sergeant.
Bloody hell, you!
What do you think is this? The Phantom of the Opera?
Take off your mask now!
Swallow it.
- Swallow? - Drop 20!
Bravo!
What is this?
Why are you holding on to your pants?
Ma'am, my pants are too big.
They gave me the wrong size,
XXXL.
Didn't you check?
I thought it's an Alibaba bag.
Why are you so blur, Recruit BQ?
- Sorry, ma'am. - Drop 20.
But ma'am, if I drop,
my pants will drop.
Drop now.
Yes, ma'am.
Bravo.
Recruit Yuan Yuan Yuan.
Yes, Sergeant.
Do you think you are very cute?
No, Sergeant.
Why is your fringe out?
Sorry, Sergeant.
You hide it or I'll cut it.
I hide it.
You and you! Where's your cap?
It was too rushed. I forgot.
Good, and you?
It was too rushed this morning.
I didn't have time.
Nonsense. Drop 20 now.
- Yes, Sergeant. - Yes, Sergeant.
- Bravo. - Bravo.
Hey you, do you think you are Mickey Mouse?
No, Sergeant.
I'm sorry, I overslept because I had a nightmare.
Nightmare?
I will show you what nightmare is day and night.
Wake up your bloody idea!
Drop 20.
Yes, Sergeant.
- Drunk. - Drunk?
Wake up your idea!
Bravo.
I need a Platoon In-Charge.
Let's see who will be the first Platoon In-Charge.
You.
Recruit Kamala.
I will appoint you as the first Platoon In-Charge.
Report to me later, is that clear?
Yes, Sergeant.
Platoon 5, watch your front.
Look up.
Bloody hell.
All of you hung your clothing and undergarments on the railing.
You think this is a Housing and Development Board flat?
This is the army camp.
Ladies, let me remind all of you.
Your honeymoon was yesterday.
It's over. No more.
I will give you 15 minutes
to clear all your clothes and undergarments
and change to your Smart 4 for Officer Commanding address.
Is that clear?
- Yes, Sergeant. - Yes, Sergeant.
Move, go.
- Go. - Move.
Oh, my God.
Sergeant Chow is not only a Chow Sergeant.
I think he is a monster.
Why can't he speak normally?
Why must he always be shouting?
Everywhere we go
- Everywhere we go - Everywhere we go
People want to know
- People want to know - People want to know
Who we are
- Who we are - Who we are
Where we come from
- Where we come from - Where we come from
So we tell them
- So we tell them - So we tell them
We are from Bravo
- We are from Bravo - We are from Bravo
Bravo Platoon 5
- Bravo Platoon 5 - Bravo Platoon 5
- Bravo - Bravo
Good morning, ladies.
- Good morning, sir. - Good morning, sir.
Welcome to Bravo Company.
I am your Officer Commanding, Captain Ben Tan.
Your GBMT will officially start from now.
What we teach you here,
you must learn as far as possible.
Do it with your heart
and do it with all your strength.
What kind of work you will be most suitable for in the end,
but not necessarily as an infantry soldier.
Over the next three months,
we will guide you step by step.
We will follow you throughout the whole journey.
If you can do it, we will applaud you.
If you can't do it, we will continue to train you.
If you are sad, if you cry,
we will accompany you,
and we will never leave you alone.
In times of war,
there is no rehearsal.
There is no retake.
You only get one chance.
That is why we must train you hard to fight.
During the war,
everyone and anyone regardless of gender
can become a victim
because bullets don't differentiate between men and women.
When you wear this uniform,
you will always be seen
as the enemy of the enemy.
As we undergo training,
you will find mud stuck to your face and body.
Remember.
That mud is soil.
Our soil.
Platoon Sergeants, carry on.
- Yes, sir. - Yes, sir.
Platoon 5, move to your bunks for stand by bed now!
- Go! - Go!
Room.
- Good morning, Sergeant Lee. - Good morning, Sergeant Lee.
Why are you girls still hanging your undergarments outside?
Recruit.
Just because of my small size,
you think you can make fun of me?
No, Sergeant. I was joking.
Yesterday, you said I looked like your daughter.
Do I look like your daughter?
No, Sergeant.
Say "I don't look like your daughter"
three times, now.
"I don't look like your daughter."
Sergeant.
Wake up your idea.
It's "you" not "I".
Say it three times now.
"You don't look like my daughter."
- Sergeant. - Is that clear?
Yes, Sergeant.
Just now, I asked you to clear your clothing
and your undergarments from the railing.
I thought I gave you all enough time to do so.
So whose is this?
Sergeant, it's mine.
Recruit Joey, you again.
Drop 20 now.
Yes, Sergeant.
Bravo.
Louder.
Bravo!
- Section IC. - Yes, Sergeant.
- Aren't you supposed to report strength? - Yes, Sergeant.
Why didn't you do so?
Sorry, Sergeant.
Drop 20 now.
Yes, Sergeant.
Bravo.
Whose is this?
So big.
Mine, Sergeant.
And this? Whose?
Must be yours.
Down 20.
Yes, Sergeant.
Who said you can take that off?
Now.
Bravo.
- Room. - Bravo.
What is this?
Your room is in a mess.
Recruit Bobo Chia.
Permission to share something?
Yes, what is it?
In order to prevent recruits from hanging their clothes everywhere,
I think the army should install
an automated laundry system
at the corridor ceiling.
That way, we can dry our clothes fast and effectively.
I have a contact. Do you want it?
Who said you could use your phone?
This is stand by bed now.
Not for you to discuss about this.
And you.
Don't teach me what to do.
- But ma'am, the system-- - Do you want to do extra duty?
- No, ma'am. - Drop 20 now.
Yes, ma'am.
Bravo.
You haven't cut your fingernails
although yesterday, I asked all of you to cut your nails
for stand by bed today.
Why have you all not cut it?
Show me your nails now.
You.
And you.
Look at your beds!
Bloody messy.
You all don't know how to pack your beds too?
You're taking me for granted, right?
You're taking me for granted, right?
- Whole lot, knock it down now! - 19, Sergeant.
- Yes, Sergeant. - Yes, Sergeant.
20, Sergeant.
- Bravo. - Bravo.
One, Sergeant.
Two, Sergeant.
I give you ten minutes to clear your bunk for stand by bed
and take off your boots for nail inspection.
Is that clear?
- Yes, Sergeant. - Yes, Sergeant.
Now I can confirm
that last night was a sweet dream
and now it's a horrible, terrible, vegetable nightmare.
I can see that nothing has been done to your nails.
I give you all one more chance
and get it settled by tomorrow.
Is that clear?
- Yes, ma'am. - Yes, ma'am.
Recruit BQ.
What is this?
Sergeant, these are the toys that grew up with me.
They cannot live without me,
- so I brought them along. - What?
I thought before you all came to BMT,
we already told you not to bring toys in, right?
Then what are all these?
What is this, Recruit BQ?
It is my smelly pillow.
Your smelly pillow?
What is it for?
I need this smell to accompany me to sleep.
What?
Recruit BQ, what is this?
You are in the army,
not a kindergarten.
You are a soldier, not a baby.
When you book out,
bring all of these home with you
And drop 20.
Yes, Sergeant.
No, wait.
I changed my mind.
I want you to write 1,000 times,
"I am a soldier now. I will throw away my…"
What's this?
- Smelly pillow. - Smelly pillow.
It's already so smelly and you still don't want to throw it away.
Do it 1,000 times. Is that clear?
Yes, Sergeant.
But I still like you.
Recruit Joey, come here.
Why is this a mess?
It looks like a garbage dump.
But ma'am,
I only had time to pack here.
But I didn't have time to pack here.
Don't give me nonsense.
Seeing your cabinet,
I seem to have seen your mind
which is very messy.
Am I right?
Yes, I am very messy.
I feel very messed up.
Stop crying.
Can't you do it by yourself?
Or you need your mommy, your maid
or your boyfriend to help you?
I said stop crying.
You are a soldier.
Drop 20 now.
Yes, ma'am.
Bravo.
Recruit Amanda, well done.
Thank you, Sergeant.
What is this shit?
Recruit See.
This is not shit. This is sweet.
Because this is Princess' palace, ma'am.
Palace? Come here.
Yes, ma'am.
I thought we've taught you the standard way
of packing a Recruit's cabinet?
Yes, ma'am. I know.
But I think that the Recruit's cabinet is so ugly.
So I used my head to design this.
It's nice, right?
Do you think this is your father's army,
doing things the way you like?
Father's army? Good idea.
I can ask my father to buy the army
because my father is very rich,
so it will become my father's army.
Can I?
Is this funny to you?
You wake up your bloody idea.
Sorry, ma'am.
And what is this?
Why so many?
- Are you going to sell them here? - No, ma'am.
You know it is illegal to sell things in the army?
I don't know, ma'am. But I am not selling it here.
I am giving it to everybody for free
because I want everybody to run faster and stronger.
Don't move when I am talking to you, do you understand?
- Yes, ma'am. - Aren't you giving this out?
Bring this all to the table and drop 20.
Yes, menses.
Did I say menses?
Sorry, my English is not so good.
So I'll drop.
- Drunk. - No.
I've changed my mind.
Don't drop 20.
I want you to write 1,500 lines saying,
"This is not my father's army."
Am I clear?
I need to write 1,500 lines?
Yes. Is it still funny now?
Not funny now.
Bring this to the table now and go.
Yes, ma'am.
Very big luggage, Recruit.
What's inside? Open it up.
Yes, Sergeant.
What's this, Recruit?
This is Holistic Way's Joint Collagen.
It's good for strengthening your joints.
This one is very good.
You will not be afraid of being tanned.
Your skin will be very fair.
Look, we are all females.
I also want to help everybody
to run faster and stronger.
Very good.
Yes, Sergeant.
Same product?
No. Hers should be fake.
Recruit See has the same product
and she's giving it out for free.
What about you?
- I am selling it here. - Selling?
You know it's illegal to sell things here, Recruit?
Is it illegal?
Give it out for free. It's very good to help people.
So how?
I'll also give it out for free, Sergeant!
Good.
Help me.
Come, put the free ones here.
Let people take it.
Come, put here.
Very good, Recruit Lau.
Come, clap for your section mate.
Free stuff, you know?
Very good. Well done, Recruit.
Thank you, Sergeant.
Ladies.
This is how you should pack your cabinet for stand by bed.
Is that clear?
- Yes, Sergeant. - Yes, Sergeant.
All right, ladies.
For your information,
the weather in the coming months will be very hot
and training will be tough.
So I suggest to cut your hair short
for hygiene purposes and to save time.
Of course it's not compulsory.
But I will highly recommend you all to do so
because I will be cutting my hair tomorrow.
- Tomorrow? - Yes, tomorrow.
So who's going to join me?
Is it free?
- Yes, it's free. - I'll join.
ZHENG
Although haircutting
is not compulsory for girls,
the people who volunteered to cut their hair
still cried.
Cried like "cats and dogs".
Don't ask me why.
This is us being girls.
Some girls are like that.
Good morning, sir.
Good morning, gentlemen.
Sit down.
Third day.
It's only the third day
and Ministry of Defense has received a complaint email
from a group of parents.
Sir, these parents are so quick
to react and efficient.
Yes, these complaints are from the parents
who have served in the army before.
They know the culture and the pattern of the army.
They are very familiar with how the army runs.
And now, they want to remind the Ministry of Defense
to warn our trainers
that this batch are all female recruits only,
so we must handle them differently.
Sir, parents nowadays are incredible.
Yes, times have changed.
I also want to remind you of these complaints.
"Excessive use of abusive language and vulgarities."
"Vulgarities involving multiple sexual organs."
Sir.
Do they think we are still in the 1970s?
"Excessive use of loud voices
that might damage their daughter's eardrums
leading to irreparable nightmares."
Tofu generation.
We would have been deaf long ago.
Okay. Another example.
"Commanders must not make unreasonable requests."
Sir, what do they mean by unreasonable?
Ten seconds to change to the Standard Battle Order.
He's talking about you.
You and also you.
Okay, there are a lot more.
I am going to forward this MINDEF email to all of you.
Make sure you read them, gentlemen.
Sir.
Now even the parents can tell us what to do.
Why not let them run the army?
Sir, how can we work like this?
Sir, we train their children to fight for the nation.
We end up fighting with the parents.
It is making our job very tough. Any advice?
My advice is to find the right balance.
How do you define the right balance?
For this,
you all have to use your own initiative.
Steady, sir.
- Kamala, can I sit here? - Yes, please.
- We can finally eat. - Yes.
Take out your bag.
- Take out your bag. - Sorry.
I don't have hair, nails, breasts, or a bum
and my hair looks like a motorcycle helmet.
I definitely won't have a boyfriend.
I got hair, nails, breasts, and a bum.
But they're no use.
My boyfriend left me still.
Actually, you still look very pretty.
Look at me. I look like Darth Vader.
But I am still very sad.
So sad? Why do you cry so much?
The one who should really be crying is you.
Me? Why?
Yes. Are you okay?
I mean Sergeant Lee threw the bra at you
and put the underwear on your head.
I thought that was very rude, you know.
It's okay. Small kid.
I treat her like a kid.
Kids are ignorant.
Anyway, I am not superstitious.
So never mind.
You are too kind.
Fortunately, the underwear is yours, so you don't mind it.
Actually, the underwear isn't mine.
Sorry.
- Not yours? - It's so big.
Why didn't you say anything?
What for?
I'll just sabotage another person.
It's okay.
Yuan Yuan, you're so good. You're the breast.
- Please don't touch my breasts. - Sorry.
I still think you should voice out.
This is the army.
They have the law, but we have the rights.
If I were you, I would surely complain.
No, I think your idea is wrong.
Yuan Yuan is right. This is only our third day in the army.
If we write a letter of complaint,
they might make things tough for us.
Our lives will be worse.
You must understand army's practice.
Yes, she has a point.
I suggest we wait and give them a chance.
But if things get out of hand, we'll complain.
I mean, we are not in the 70s or 80s.
We have to voice out.
Yes.
There is an army portal whereby you can lodge complaints.
- Really? - Yes.
Did you know there's a portal in the army?
If the recruits are unhappy, they can complain.
Lee.
What you did was very wrong.
I need to talk to you about this.
Come see me after this, okay?
You see, there are 15 girls in this section.
Especially when you do something bad,
there will surely be some hero who will complain about you.
I am very worried about you.
Yes, I know what you mean.
Now, we are like being in an imperial drama.
Yes, imperial drama.
Anyway, Lily, why did you do that?
I don't know either.
At the moment, I just felt like I'm the king.
Do you really think it's an imperial drama?
Guys, we need to remember.
This is not the 80s anymore.
Nowadays, social media is very scary.
The keyboard warriors can destroy us at any time.
So we need to be extra careful.
Then how? What should I do?
Pray to your God.
Morning, ma'am.
OC wants to see all of you.
Okay.
- Good morning, sir. - Good morning, sir.
Good morning.
At ease.
Ladies and gentlemen.
Commanding Officer wants me to remind everyone
that when dealing with our first batch of female Recruits,
we must use our own initiative
to find the right balance.
Is that clear?
- Yes, sir. - Yes, sir.
But sir,
how do we find the right balance?
Let me give you an example.
It's my understanding that yesterday,
one of our Section Commanders
placed a Recruit's underwear on her head.
Don't ask me how I knew.
I was an intelligence officer.
Sorry, sir. It was me.
I didn't know this was so serious.
Sergeant Lily.
What you have done
did not contribute to the Recruit's training at all.
In fact, it's considered ill-treatment.
Sorry, sir.
We'll deal with that later.
Yes, sir.
So that's how you get into trouble.
When you don't find the right balance.
Right balance.
Right balance.
Sir, in that case,
do we still scold or not?
Do we still punish or not?
Of course we must use punishment to educate them.
But as the CO says,
we must always find the right balance.
And how do we find the right balance?
Use our initiative, sir?
Yes.
And how do we use our own initiative?
Find the right balance, sir.
Yes.
Good morning, Recruits.
- Good morning, ma'am. - Good morning, ma'am.
Sergeant Lily has been posted out to another company.
I want to introduce to you
your new Section Commander.
Good morning, Recruits.
- Good morning, Sergeant. - Good morning, Sergeant.
I'll be your new Section Commander.
I am Sergeant Loh.
I'll be taking care of you all from now on.
Let's work together, shall we?
- Yes, Sergeant. - Yes, Sergeant.
Okay.
Today, we will be doing a running trial
to see your performance.
I want all of you to run as fast as possible.
So give me your best.
Is that clear?
- Yes, ma'am. - Yes, ma'am.
Recruits.
Before we begin,
I am going to tell you guys one last time.
Although we always say to use your initiative,
you'd better not take the shortcut,
and tell us that you are using your initiative.
So you'd better not try to be funny with me, is that clear?
- Yes, Sergeant. - Yes, Sergeant.
I will hand you over to Sergeant Lim.
She will be your PT instructor for today.
Good morning, ladies.
- Good morning, Sergeant. - Good morning, Sergeant.
Welcome to IFT,
also known as Individual Fitness Test.
This is very similar to Individual Physical Proficiency Test,
but it is a bit different.
Do you see the road ahead?
- Yes, Sergeant. - Yes, Sergeant.
There are a lot of up and down slopes,
so run properly
and be really careful.
Are you all hydrated?
- Yes, Sergeant. - Yes, Sergeant.
All right. Let's space out and do our warm-up.
Everyone, follow me to the front.
Stand by.
Don't be sad.
Let me tell you, just run fast
and throw away all the unhappy things, okay?
Be steady, okay?
It's a deal.
Three, two, one, go.
- Come on, move. - Hurry up.
I want all of you to run as fast as you can.
You'd better not make me say,
"My grandmother can run faster than you."
The last five of you
will stay back for extra training with me.
Is that clear?
- Yes, Sergeant. - Yes, Sergeant.
- Move. - Come on.
- Come on, Recruit BQ. - Come on.
Come on.
Keep going, come on.
Faster.
Keep going, come on.
Go. Hurry up.
Recruit BQ, you are the last one.
My grandmother can do better than you.
Keep moving!
- Really? - Yes.
Come on, Recruit.
The more I see that crazy woman, the angrier I get.
I have no business because of her.
Don't worry, we will find a chance to deal with her later.
Go.
Are you okay? Catch up.
Are you okay?
You go first.
Are you sure you're okay?
Okay, bye.
Hurry up, Recruit. Keep going.
Eyes at the front.
Hurry up.
Catch up.
Keep going.
Don't let me catch you.
There's no one else.
The crazy woman is still behind us.
Lan Lan, look in front.
See? Damn, it's a slope.
A beautiful slope.
Later, you can show her what you've got.
Let's take cover first.
Hurry up, she's coming. Hide properly.
She's coming.
Princess!
Medic!
Help!
Princess, are you okay?
Hold on.
Are you okay?
Medic, help!
Help, medic!
Are you okay? Where are you hurt?
Recruit.
- Recruit Princess. - I'm putting pressure on your legs.
- Let me know if it hurts. - Are you okay?
- I'm not okay. - What is your name, Recruit?
Are you okay?
I think we shouldn't tell her.
- It's a very serious offense. - Yes.
- We don't even know if it's true. - She saw it.
- Go and tell her. - Really?
- Just go. - We don't need to say first.
Joey.
Come.
- What happened? - I didn't see it.
But I heard somebody said somebody pushed somebody to fall
and somebody said somebody is a "white horse" in our section.
- White horse? - Then this whole thing
is going to blow up.
Joey, you saw everything, right?
You are the eyewitness. I think you should tell Sergeant.
- If it were you? - If it was me?
I will tell Sergeant
because it's our responsibility.
Who's the "white horse"?
I don't know.
I think maybe Princess is the "white horse".
- She's very rich. - Yes.
And Princess is your buddy.
But…
Joey, my father is a lawyer.
He cannot tolerate seeing all of this.
If I were you, I'd go to the office and complain.
These two gangsters are really too much.
- They must get punished. - Okay.
- But… - I think you shouldn't tell.
Did you see the two gangsters?
They are very fierce, especially that Lan Lan.
She has a gang behind her.
Very dangerous. What if you get targeted?
What nonsense.
Singapore has law and police
and you know what's the best part?
There are security cameras everywhere.
You make one mistake and you get caught. Just say.
- I think you should tell. - I think you should tell.
I think you shouldn't tell.
Okay, if you really want to tell,
you can do it in a smart way.
I have friends who can help you.
For my own safety,
I think I won't tell.
Recruit Joey, Platoon Sergeant wants to see you now.
- Never mind, it's okay. You decide. - Never mind, it's okay. You decide.
You all think she will say the truth?
It's a double whammy.
If it were me, I wouldn't say.
Prepare your popcorn.
Showtime.
Recruit Lau.
I'll give you one last chance.
Tell me. What happened?
Sergeant.
Everyone was running the same route.
We were just unlucky.
She rolled down the slope just as we passed by.
Then the blame is on us.
Yes, if you insist that we pushed her,
it's very unfair to us.
Unless you have evidence, Sergeant.
Evidence? Okay.
I have an eyewitness.
Come in.
Recruit Joey.
You were behind the two of them just now, right?
Tell us what happened.
Sergeant, it's okay.
It's not her fault.
It's not their fault.
It's my fault.
I was careless
and I rolled down the mountain.
Recruit Princess, are you telling me a lie?
Yes.
Do you know lying is a serious offense?
I know.
But I don't want to give them trouble.
I want to give them happiness.
Look, they are just superficial injuries.
I'll just apply the ointment and it's fine.
Let's go back.
Come back.
Are you the Sergeant or am I?
Don't you know?
You.
Then did I give you permission to leave?
Sorry, Sergeant.
Recruit Joey, what are you afraid of?
Tell us what happened.
The two of you, get out first.
- Yes, Sergeant. - Yes, Sergeant.
Come on, Recruit Joey.
You need to let us know what happened.
Your section mate is injured because of this.
Come on, Joey.
Just tell us the truth. Don't worry.
Sergeant.
I saw with my own eyes.
They pushed Princess down the slope.
I saw with my own eyes.
I'm not lying.
Okay.
Thank you, Recruit Joey.
You all may fall out.
- Thank you, Sergeant. - Thank you, Sergeant.
- Thank you, ma'am. - Thank you, ma'am.
Sergeant Loh.
Get Recruit Lau and Recruit Chow back.
Yes, Sergeant.
Thank you so much, Joey.
You are my hero.
It's okay, girls.
It's all going to be okay.
- But what should we do? - Is it painful?
- Yes. - Are you tired of living?
How dare you sabotage us?
Are you tired of living?
Come down if you dare.
- Don't push. - Be nice.
- Don't push. Don't touch. - Come on.
Why don't you just go back to your bed and relax?
Big-sized one, don't say I didn't warn you.
This is none of your business. Better stay out!
Don't fight.
- No. - Stop.
Please put down the chair.
Okay, I'll put it down.
- Let me tell you. - Thank you.
Don't say I didn't give you face. There will be no next time.
- Bloody hell, I am damn angry. - Don't worry.
Retain your composure.
- We've still got many weeks here. - This is too scary.
Like hamster.
- You mean gangster? - Yes, gangster.
But it's okay.
Everything is still under control.
Thank you, Amanda.
Please leave your message after the tone.
Please leave your message after the tone.
Please leave your message after the tone.
Yes.
We finally got our "husbands".
As ex-army boys have said,
their "wives" are very troublesome.
I didn't believe them before.
But now,
I am fully convinced.
This "husband" is not only heavy,
but it also doesn't know how to dote on us.
And we still need to carry them everywhere.
We must take care of them.
Otherwise, we will get our asses kicked.
The only good thing is
they can protect us during wartime.
But if there's no war,
they are just useless.
The funny thing is Sergeant said that
because we have our "husbands",
this is why we have no wars.
This is a terminology.
I don't understand what it means.
Left, left, left, right, left.
Left, left,
- Left, right, left. - Halt.
- Today is our book out day - Today is our book out day
- Book out, book out - Book out, book out
- Today is our book out day - Today is our book out day
- Book out, book out day - Book out, book out day
- Today is our book out day - Today is our book out day
- Book out, book out - Book out, book out
- Today is our book out day - Today is our book out day
- Book out, book out day - Book out, book out day
- Hey! - Hey!
Halt.
Are you ready for your first book out?
- Yes, Sergeant. - Yes, Sergeant.
Okay, let's go.
- Today is our book out day - Today is our book out day
- Book out, book out - Book out, book out
- Today is our book out day - Today is our book out day
- Book out, book out day - Book out, book out day
- Today is our book out day - Today is our book out day
- Book out, book out - Book out, book out
- Today is our book out day - Today is our book out day
- Book out, book out day - Book out, book out day
- Today is our book out day - Today is our book out day
- Book out, book out - Book out, book out
- Today is our book out day - Today is our book out day
- Book out, book out day - Book out, book out day
Damn it, we got confined on our first book out.
It's all because of you.
I was stupid to listen to your suggestion.
I merely suggested, but you really pushed her.
Will you eat shit if I told you to?
Okay, no use arguing.
Let's go, quick.
Bloody hell, we have to report once every two hours.
This is mad. Ready?
Yes, hurry up.
Fast march.
Left, left, left, right, left.
- Today is our book out day - Today is our book out day
- Book out, book out - Book out, book out
Left, right, left.
- Today is our book out day - Today is our book out day
- Book out, book out day - Book out, book out day
Left, right, left.
Left, right, left.
- Today is our book out day - Today is our book out day
- Book out, book out day - Book out, book out day
- Joey? - Hi, Auntie.
You're in NS now?
Yes, and today is my first book out.
I came here to look for Damien. Is he home?
He's not at home.
But you look good in your uniform.
Thank you.
Do you know what time Damien will be home?
I don't know.
He didn't say.
I think you'd better go home first.
Your parents may be missing you.
Okay, I'll go home first then.
- Thank you, Auntie. - Thank you.
- Bye. - Bye.
Please leave your message after…
Please leave your message after…
Please leave your message after the tone.
Place your boots properly.
I'm not in camp. I'm at home already.
Is that what your Sergeant taught you?
Daddy, I want to ask you.
The camp is so far away.
Why don't you buy me a car?
So you don't have to pick me up during book out.
Pretty, please?
Monica.
Check out this app.
What is this?
Choose the car you want.
You mean I can choose whatever I want
and order from the app?
Yes.
So many cars.
This is nice.
Grandma.
- You're back. - Yes, I'm back.
You're sleeping.
King Daddy!
Your Princess is back!
I'm back!
Good.
Daddy, Mommy.
Stop massage.
- Queen Mommy! - My Princess!
You're back.
Why are you hurt?
I had training yesterday.
While I was running, some people knocked into me
and I rolled down the mountain.
Rolled down the mountain?
Rolled down the slope?
Rolled down the slope.
Is it painful?
Mommy, do you want to try it?
Just kidding.
My King.
Our Princess
got hurt in the army.
Should we complain or not?
No, Queen Mommy.
Don't worry, okay?
- Everything is under control. - Everything is under control.
Daddy taught you and you used it.
Daddy, I use it every day.
Good.
And this was so painful.
But I didn't cry.
Did you see? I told you.
She's a different person after enlisting.
- Good. - Correct.
But you must remember, when we are not with you,
you have to be very careful, okay?
Yes, Queen Mommy.
King Daddy, come sit here.
- See. - Yes. Why?
I have something important to ask you.
- Something important? Okay. - Okay?
Everyone in the army says this,
but I don't know the meaning.
- Okay. - The word is…
What?
"In preservatives"?
No, wrong. Look at my mouth.
"In charity"?
- No, something else. - "In relativity"?
- Try again. - "In cherry teeth"?
Last try.
- Initiative. - Yes!
I wanted to say this word.
Initiative. Okay.
Usually, "initiative" means
you come up with ideas at the right time
that has never been thought of before
and you apply it correctly.
Okay? This is called using initiative.
Understand?
Very easy.
King Daddy.
You explained, I listened.
But I still don't understand.
But don't worry.
Everything is under control, okay?
I won't understand it now, but I will in the future.
I'm feeling giddy now.
I want to go and sleep, bye.
Listen to me.
I can explain more.
What's happening?
What's with her?
What's happening? This is what is happening.
She asked me what initiative is.
I explained it to her and she said she felt dizzy
and walked away.
What is this and what are you doing?
Initiative.
This is healthy alkaline water.
I prepared 50 bottles
for Princess to bring to the army
to give to her OC, CO, Sergeant, and officers.
This is also an initiative, okay?
My head hurts.
My Queen Mommy.
Let me tell you.
Your initiative and the army's initiative is different.
Why is it different?
You haven't been in the army before. You can't do it your own way.
Do you know?
You need to let her survive on her own.
By always acting on her behalf,
she won't be independent.
You need water to survive.
This isn't right, that isn't right.
Nothing is right.
I'll drink it myself, then everything is right.
Please leave your message after the tone.
Please leave your message after the tone.
Please leave your message…
Please leave your message after the tone.
Please leave your message after the tone.
I don't know why
using initiative in the army
is so popular.
My father explained,
but I still do not understand what it means.
Never mind.
I will continue to find out.
Never say die.
Fatimah.
What happened?
We just had our first book out a few days ago.
Are you missing your family already?
No, it's not that.
It's my uncle.
He has some legal problems.
Now my whole family is worried about him.
I can introduce a good lawyer to you.
Don't worry.
Really? You have contacts?
That is my business.
Okay. Give me the contact later, okay?
Sure.
Yuan Yuan.
My father couldn't find jobs for a very long time.
Do you think you can help?
Sure.
My gang will have all the jobs waiting for your father.
Really? Okay, thank you.
Yuan Yuan, can your gang help my friend's brother
pass his Mathematics exam?
Mathematics?
Any subject is okay.
I have a good tutor for you.
I'll pass you the contact later.
Okay, thank you.
So helping people is also an initiative?
Very good.
This fat woman has so many contacts.
I wonder where she got them.
Instructor is here already.
Morning, ladies.
- Good morning, sir. - Good morning, sir.
How was the book out?
- Normal. - Normal.
Okay, next time, don't book out.
Just kidding.
Anyway, my name is Lieutenant Song
and I will be your conducting officer for today.
I'll be teaching you guys how to do your camouflage.
I am sure you all have heard from your boyfriend,
uncle, father, cousins,
what camouflage is all about, right?
- Yes, sir. - Yes, sir.
Back then, in the 1980s and 70s,
camouflage was about putting flowers and grass onto yourself,
integrating yourself into the surrounding,
so that the enemy cannot spot you.
Now, I am going to show you all the power of camouflage.
Demonstration Alpha.
Do you see anything?
- No, sir. - No, sir.
Open your eyes wider and look again.
Do you see anything?
- No, sir. - No, sir.
Stand up.
- So handsome. - So handsome.
You're here to learn about camouflage,
not to look at handsome guys.
Impressive, right?
- Yes, sir. - Yes, sir.
- You want to see the best? - Yes, sir.
- You want to see the best? - Yes, sir.
Demonstration Bravo.
What's that?
You know what that looks like?
- Ostrich. - Ostrich.
That's not an ostrich.
That's your Sergeant Mar Tee.
Hello, everyone.
Your Sergeant Mar Tee here.
Round of applause for Sergeant Mar Tee.
Thank you, Mar Tee.
Okay, enough.
That method of camouflage was the best.
But in today's context,
not anymore.
With new technology,
we have new equipment and new uniform.
That pixelated uniform you are wearing
has been proven to be able to blend you guys
into the surrounding jungle,
so that the enemy cannot spot you guys.
Now that your body's camouflaged,
what's left?
Your face.
No.
Presenting to you,
Demonstration Charlie.
This is camouflage cream.
- Sir, we don't want. - Sir.
Sir.
I don't mind protecting my country,
but will my country protect my face?
- Yes. - Yes, agreed.
What do you mean?
The camouflage cream is going to damage my skin.
- Yes. - Yes, our skin is so precious.
Cannot.
My cousin used this and he had acne all over.
- Yes. - Yes.
Sir, as far as camouflage cream is concerned,
from what I know, most of the soldiers hated it.
- Yes. - Yes.
It is smelly and it doesn't benefit our skin.
- Yes. - Yes.
It can also cause acne as well.
And we still have to do facial treatment when we book out.
- Yes. - Correct.
Okay, I've heard this grandmother's story 1,000 times.
Do you have any better solutions?
If camouflage cream is to camouflage our face,
sir, this is my prototype.
With this design,
not only can it protect our face,
but our whole body too.
Our snipers are already using this.
I know, but this technology is more advanced.
It can hide our body temperature.
It is anti-infrared and it's waterproof.
We will install a miniature fan inside it
for ventilation.
You might as well install an air conditioner as well.
That will be type two.
And it will be more expensive.
Thank you.
Thank you, sir.
I am looking forward to your invention.
But for now, let's use camouflage cream.
Section Commander, take over.
Yes, sir.
Recruits, on your feet.
Take out your gloves.
Faster. Take this and pass around.
Come. Take this and pass around.
Take this and pass around.
Take.
Yes, take.
I got this UV care cream
for you to apply before your camouflage cream.
It will protect your skin from the sun
and the damages,
so that you will not become pocked-face like my cousin.
Where is everybody?
- Yes, we are coming. - Yes, we are coming.
Well, I can see everybody is using initiative to help each other
to change their life.
I think I'm slowly understanding what it means to use initiative.
Camouflage is very important for a soldier.
But you guys treat it as a joke.
Bloody hell. You think I won't punish you?
Down.
One, sir.
- Down. - Two, sir.
- Down. - Three, sir.
Down.
Mani, thank you for the sunscreen.
You are welcome.
Yes, this really protected our face.
Yes. Any other products to recommend?
Even better. This weekend's book out,
let me bring you guys for a facial.
Really?
We have this Ah Girls Army package
with very good treatment and very good rates.
It will make sure your skin becomes fair and smooth.
You will definitely not become pocked-face like my cousin.
- So good. - Thank you.
Why didn't you ask me along?
We're going for facials this weekend, do you want to come?
- I want. - You don't need to go. I'll go.
Your skin is already very nice.
Sister.
I didn't know you had a tattoo.
Yes.
This is just the small one.
Do you want to see the big one?
- Yes. - Let me show you all.
Let's go.
Are you ready?
- Yes. - Yes.
Is this a tiger or a cat?
Do you want to see mine instead?
- Yes. - Yes.
You, come out.
I want to see how great yours is.
- Get out of my way. - Come on.
Pay attention, don't look down on me.
Do you see it?
- Yes. - Yes.
Lan Lan, is this a dragon?
There are no legs, just like a snake.
What snake?
Come on.
I asked him for a discount and he said okay.
So this is the discounted result.
I will tattoo the legs when I have the money.
- Okay. - Okay.
- Morning, Recruits. - Good morning, sir.
My name is Lieutenant Chan.
Today, I will be teaching you jungle field signals.
In wartimes or operation times,
we will never talk to one another.
Instead, we will use hand signals to communicate with one another.
Do you understand?
- Yes, sir. - Yes, sir.
Good. So today, I will be teaching you
seven basic jungle field signals
for you to use later when you are practicing.
I will go through with you now
and you will practice with me, do you understand?
- Yes, sir. - Yes, sir.
Okay, your first signal.
Ambush.
- Ambush. - Ambush.
Second signal, enemy.
- Enemy. - Enemy.
Third signal, own people.
- Own people. - Own people.
Fourth signal, take cover.
- Take cover. - Take cover.
Your fifth signal, gather.
- Gather. - Gather.
Your sixth signal,
halt.
- Halt. - Halt.
For this signal,
the first person in the file will do it.
The rest of you will stop and follow as well.
Do you understand?
- Yes, sir. - Yes, sir.
Okay, the seventh signal
is for you to ask your comrades to move faster.
This is what we call double up.
- Double up. - Double up.
I "double up" you.
Hello.
Do you think it's funny?
Behave yourselves.
Okay, since all of you are laughing,
I suppose you are clear with the signals.
So now I am going to test you.
Whatever signal I say,
you show me the hand gesture, do you understand?
- Yes, sir. - Yes, sir.
First signal, enemy.
- Enemy. - Enemy.
Hello, the enemy signal.
Hey, that's wrong.
- Gather. - Gather.
- Halt. - Halt.
- Double up. - Double up.
Behave yourselves.
- Faster. - Quiet down.
These are the signals you will be using to practice later.
Please be serious.
Before we proceed, any questions?
Sir, I have one question for you.
- Yes, Recruit? - Is that all the field signals?
How is that enough?
Good question, Recruit.
There are a lot of signals that I will be teaching you along the way.
For now, this is enough for you.
But if you need to, you can improvise.
Just make sure you understand the signals between one another.
- Do you understand? - Yes, sir.
Let's practice now. Let's go.
- Let's go. - Double up.
Take cover. What are you doing?
Take cover.
She took cover already. What are you doing?
Take cover.
No, Sergeant.
She's just demonstrating to you
that the traditional way of taking cover
is very outdated already.
- What? Outdated? - Yes.
And we will also get hurt very easily.
Sergeant. A little help, please.
What the hell is this, guys?
Sergeant, Group 2 has prepared something for you.
We will show you the power of taking cover in a new way.
What new way?
It's a little surprise. Do you mind turning away?
Yes, Sergeant. We will do you proud.
It is a new fantastic idea.
- Yes. - You'd better not try to be funny.
Turn around. Really.
Bloody Recruits.
Group 2, take cover!
- Group 2, take cover! - Group 2, take cover!
Sergeant, you can turn around now.
Where are you?
What are you doing?
- Taking cover, Sergeant. - Taking cover, Sergeant.
Taking cover?
- Yes, Sergeant. - Yes, Sergeant.
This way, I cannot see the enemy,
the enemy cannot see me too.
Are you trying to be funny?
As soldiers, how can you be carrying an umbrella?
Sergeant, with technology advancement these days,
we should change our mindset about taking cover.
What kind of nonsense is this?
Use umbrellas to change mindset?
This is not a normal umbrella.
This umbrella can hide our body temperature
and it's anti-infrared
and waterproof.
Yes, and it can also collect rainwater.
Good.
- Thank you, Sergeant. - Very good.
- Thank you, Sergeant. - Thank you, Sergeant.
Whole lot, knock it down!
Knock it down.
Okay, Group 1. Take cover and high kneel, hurry up.
- Recruit Fatimah. - Yes, sir.
From now on, tell your section it's tactical movement.
Sir, what's the hand signal for tactical movement?
There's no hand signal. Just tell your section now.
Okay, sir.
Joey.
Tell them, tactical movement.
- Tactical moment? - Yes.
Princess.
Tactical moment.
Okay. Kamala,
testicle maomao.
Testicle?
- Faster. - What?
Mani.
Testicle momo.
Testicle momo.
BQ.
Testicle got mold.
Lan Lan.
- Testicle got mold. - Testicle got mold?
Testicle got mold?
- Recruit Lan Lan. - Yes, sir.
What was the instruction given to you?
Testicle ball ball, sir!
Testicle ball ball.
Who said that?
She said it.
She said it.
She said it.
No, she said it.
I said testicle maomao.
My goodness.
It's tactical movement.
Sir, I need to use the toilet.
Me too.
Okay, anybody else wants to join the toilet party?
Me three.
Okay, the three of you go.
Don't go too far.
- Yes, sir. - Yes, sir.
Faster.
The three of you, faster.
- Double up. - Double up.
Faster, it's urgent.
Faster.
- I can't hold it in anymore. - It's coming out.
Okay. Own time, own target.
You go further away. Don't look at me.
I'm very shy.
You go over there.
- You guys go there, I'll be here. - Okay.
You go.
Here.
Hurry, I'm going to pee.
Snake! Big snake!
Girls, there's a snake!
Shit, there's a snake? Where's my button?
Where's my button?
Run!
Snake! There's a snake!
Fatimah, run!
Faster, run!
Yes, run!
Fatimah, Mani! Where are you?
What happened?
Sir, Recruit Joey said there's a snake inside.
Yes. She shouted and we ran.
It was so scary.
Then where's Recruit Joey?
Fatimah!
Mani!
You left your buddy behind?
But…
Recruit Joey!
Recruit Joey, where are you?
Why didn't she run with us?
Why is she so slow today?
Gosh.
Joey, are you happy now?
Sergeant made us write 3,000 lines each.
It's all your fault.
I'm sorry, okay?
I really thought I saw a snake.
That's why I shouted.
Only shout? Don't you know how to run?
Come on, if you see a snake, you run.
If you see us running, you follow.
Yes, we heard you shouting and we ran.
You saw and you didn't run.
What? You forgot to bring your legs?
But I ran.
It's just that I got lost in the jungle.
Come on.
Singapore's jungle is so small and you can still get lost?
Yes, it's because you don't focus.
You should become Zombie Tay,
- not Joey Tay. - Yes.
Zombie, do you realize that it's because of you
that a lot of people in this bunk got into trouble?
Do you think it's fair? Not fair, right?
Selfish.
But this time around, both of you abandoned me.
- No. - No, we didn't abandon you.
We were running for our lives.
It's you who didn't run for your life.
Yes, exactly.
And because you didn't run for your life,
you got us punished.
You think it's fair?
Sabotage queen.
I'm sorry, okay?
I already said so many times. I'm sorry.
Sorry?
- Burden. - Burden.
Joey, are you okay?
- It's okay. - Yes, it's okay.
Can you all just go away?
Something is not right.
I think we need to keep an eye on Joey.
I think so too. There's definitely something wrong.
The number you've dialed is not in use.
Please check the number and dial again.
Joey.
What's wrong?
Don't cry anymore, okay?
You really need to stop crying.
You need rest.
You're not resting enough, Joey.
Okay. Just sleep, okay?
Tomorrow will be a better day.
And we need to go for training tomorrow.
Very early in the morning, right?
You really need rest.
It's okay.
It's okay, don't worry.
You can just go and sleep.
Okay.
I'll be just there, okay?
If anything, just call me, okay?
Yuan Yuan.
Joey is gone.
Goh Bee Bee, Joey is gone.
Come, let's go.
Karen.
Joey is missing.
Shit.
Where's Joey?
I can see that.
Let's go find Joey.
- Why did she go up the stairs? - I don't know.
Let go of it, put it down.
Careful.
I'm scared.
Hello?
Hi, dear.
Why are you calling me at this hour?
I'm missing you.
So sweet?
Calm down.
Guys, listen to me.
We take this chance to move closer to Joey
and grab her when we can.
Okay, together.
Go away!
- Okay. - Okay.
Is over here okay?
Joey, I'm really so sorry.
I'm so sorry, okay?
I really didn't mean it.
I'm so sorry for scolding you
- I really-- - Go away.
Okay.
Okay. We won't go over.
Okay, I really didn't mean it.
It's not your fault, it's my fault, okay?
You don't understand.
He doesn't want to pick up my calls.
He's cutting me out of his life.
It's not about you.
It isn't about me?
- It's her boyfriend. - Boyfriend.
Okay.
Joey.
It's not worth it to jump down over a man, okay?
It's really not worth it.
Don't do it.
You don't even understand the pain I'm going through now.
I understand. We all understand.
- Yes. - Even me and my ex-boyfriend.
He also ditched me to be with someone else.
- Right? - Yes.
That's not the main point.
Why? What do you want?
I just want to see you.
Can I come down and find you?
No.
You, and you, look for PC and PS now.
- Okay. - Go.
Now what?
Wait, relax.
We say whatever we can,
do whatever we can, okay?
- Try to drag the time. - Why?
Just tell me where your camp is.
I'll drive over.
Don't try your luck.
You know I won't allow you to, right?
Joey. We are best friends, right?
We go to toilet together,
eat together, shit together.
But you're so stupid and idiotic.
Yes, I am the biggest idiot here!
Joey, she said she's stupid.
Not you. She's stupid.
Now Joey,
you need to rationalize things, okay?
Calm down.
We can overcome it together.
You can overcome it, okay?
Just calm down. Be careful.
Please.
No.
I am really sad.
The more you say, the more I'm going to jump down right now.
Ma'am, Joey is committing suicide!
- Joey is committing suicide right now! - She's at the rooftop.
Did you hear that?
- She said she's very sad. - Yes.
Let me cheer her up, okay?
Joey, when I danced before,
you laughed at me, right?
Now I'll dance for you.
Stop!
It's not even funny.
Okay, not funny.
The three of us, okay? Together, one, two, three.
I told you to stop, it's not funny!
I'll jump down right now.
- No! - Okay.
Joey.
- No! - We love you, okay?
Okay.
PC is here.
What's the situation?
She refuses to come down.
She'll jump down anytime.
It's very dangerous. How?
Right flanking.
Joey.
It's ma'am here.
You calm down, okay?
You can talk to me about anything.
You don't even know what's going on.
It's not my fault.
Go away.
Okay, I'll move back.
Calm down.
You can't get too close to her.
Is that Joey's phone?
Joey's phone.
I'll go.
What?
Is that my boyfriend?
JOEY'S PHONE
Yes, it's your boyfriend.
Did he call me?
He's looking for you.
He's really worried about you.
Do you want to pick up his call?
Yes, he finally called me.
He's very worried for you.
I'm passing the phone to you right now.
- You don't jump off, okay? - I want to pick up the call.
I'm coming to you right now.
I'm coming to you.
You want to come down and talk to him?
I'm coming to you.
Do you want to come down?
No.
I want to listen to the call first.
Okay, I'm going to pass you the phone right now.
You don't jump off, okay?
You're not lying to me, right?
No.
Recruit.
Okay, I'll pass the phone to you right now.
Hurry up, I want to pick up the phone call!
- You finally called me! - Joey!
- Joey! - Damien.
Hi.
- I'm so happy that you called me. - Joey.
Breathe in.
Okay.
- Okay. - How is she?
Everything is good.
She's very healthy.
Sir.
Sorry, can I get a cup of coffee, please?
I'm sorry, but no.
Medic, can you get her a cup of plain water?
Sure.
You should drink more healthy water
and less of coffee.
Thank you, sir.
You're welcome.
Water.
Thank you.
Ma'am.
Why did you lie to me?
Why?
I didn't want you to do anything foolish at that time.
But I thought I heard his voice.
That was my boyfriend.
No, I'm pretty sure.
I could recognize my boyfriend's voice.
It's my boyfriend.
I was using my phone and he called.
But ma'am.
You lied to me that he called me.
I really thought he called.
Joey, I had to save your life first.
Okay?
Thank you, ma'am.
Have a good rest.
Come in.
- Good morning, ma'am. - Good morning, ma'am.
Good morning.
Well done, Recruit See.
I heard that you used your initiative
to tie the rope to Joey's leg.
And because of that, you saved her life.
But why didn't you inform us first?
Ma'am,
I didn't know if my initiative was right or wrong.
What do you mean?
Initiative is very funny.
If done right, it's an initiative.
If done wrong, it's GK.
What's GK?
Being a smart alec.
I'm afraid that others will laugh at me.
I was also worried about Joey.
I had to do something,
that's why.
That's a very good initiative.
But next time,
you must always remember to inform us first, okay?
Yes, ma'am.
The next time someone wants to jump down, I'll tell you first.
There's no more next time.
Yes, no more.
Recruit Joey, according to the medical officer,
he said that after examining you and talking to you,
he certified that you are fit to return to training.
Thank you, ma'am.
Recruit See, please take good care of your buddy.
Yes, ma'am.
You all may fall out now.
- Thank you, ma'am. - Thank you, ma'am.
Ladies,
welcome to SOCC.
When we are afraid of something,
we tend to avoid it subconsciously.
Now that all of you are blindfolded,
you can't see anything
and you don't know where you are now.
Yes, you are in the dark now.
All your buddies are gone
and you are alone.
Right now,
I want you to use your hands and feet
to maneuver around your surroundings.
There are many obstacles around you
and I want you to be careful.
There are two kinds of obstacles in this world.
Physical obstacles
and psychological obstacles.
Sometimes,
psychological obstacles are harder to overcome
than physical obstacles.
So now,
be careful.
When you reach the platform,
I want you to start leopard crawling.
And now,
some small little creatures
are getting closer
and closer to you.
They are beside you
and they may crawl
on top of you.
And let me remind you.
No matter what,
don't ever stand up
because it's going to get very dangerous.
Oh, my God.
I see big, fat centipedes,
and they are very fast.
I don't know why they are so fast
and some are climbing up your boots.
But please, stay calm.
Right now,
I see your favorite.
Cockroaches.
Not one or two,
but one whole division.
I repeat myself.
No matter what,
- do not stand up! - Cockroaches!
Cockroaches!
Who said you can all stand up?
You die!
Recruit.
Why are you rolling about?
Sir, I am trying to crush the cockroaches
to save my peers, sir.
Sir?
Good.
Recover.
- Recover. - Recover.
Okay, come to the front.
Anyway,
my name
is Captain You Die.
Why?
Because my favorite quote is,
"You die."
When you don't take care of your own safety,
you will die.
So prove to me that you won't die, is that clear?
- Yes, sir. - Yes, sir.
If that was a real battlefield,
you die, I die,
everybody die.
Just now,
because of your own fear,
you totally forgot my reminder
not to stand up.
How scary is that?
So moving on to the next station,
I want to test your fear again.
It will be a more advanced test.
Section 2, are you ready?
- Yes, sir. - Yes, sir.
Is that clear?
- Yes, sir. - Yes, sir.
I won't tell you more.
But right now, put on your mask.
- Yes, sir. - Yes, sir.
Ladies.
You must all be wondering why you are wearing masks.
It is because
the Section Commanders will shoot you if you don't take cover.
In this station,
no matter what you see or encounter,
you are to remain calm.
I repeat myself.
Remain calm.
When I say "Take cover,"
you will hear the GPMG firing
and bombs exploding.
You must quickly take cover.
Only those covered with gunny sacks are counted.
If you didn't manage to take cover,
your Section Commanders will shoot you.
And if you die, tonight,
you will have to write 1,500 lines.
"I must take cover
or I will die."
Understand?
Let me remind you.
Only those covered with gunny sacks are counted.
I want you to pay attention
and observe before you take cover.
Section.
Take cover!
Take cover!
Get down!
Bobo, there's a cover there too. Go there.
Okay.
This cover doesn't have a gunny sack, you die!
You sabotaged me!
Sorry.
Down! You die!
I hate you.
There's no cure for stupidity.
What the heck? Who is this?
What happened?
You die!
- Die now, die! - Okay, Sergeant.
Damn it. Who pushed me?
Sorry.
You'd better watch out.
I'm sorry.
Get down.
You die.
Actually, who said I'm blur?
I'm not blur.
Recruit, what are you doing here?
Relaxing?
I'm taking cover.
And this cover is very nice.
It's very nice?
Don't shoot.
I'll die myself.
Section 2.
I want you to take a look at those who died.
They died because of you.
They are your teammates.
You didn't take care of them.
You didn't protect them.
Selfish.
Now imagine
if they were your family,
your husband, your parents,
your son, your daughter,
your pets.
How would you feel?
Section 2.
There should be a box labeled
"secret weapon."
Pick it up, but don't open it yet.
At the count of three,
open at my command.
One.
Two.
Three.
Open.
I'm not scared.
I always see you at home. Why are you here?
Go.
Secret weapon?
You're not supposed to stand up. Die!
Come on!
How can someone so smart like me just die?
All right, ladies.
Frankly speaking,
today, I am not satisfied with your performance.
Because of one stupid cockroach,
almost all of you died.
Why?
Because you were afraid of them.
Today's SOCC test
is also called
Special Obstacle Cockroach Course.
Today, I want you to bring back one very valuable lesson.
That is fear is only an illusion.
It is all in your mind.
Only when you can overcome your fears,
then can you overcome
the enemy.
Remember, Recruits.
Your greatest enemy is you,
yourself.
Is that clear?
- Yes, sir. - Yes, sir.
I'm tired.
I shouldn't have pushed her.
Hey, Mani. Why did you sabotage me just now?
Now I have to write 1,500 lines.
No, how did I sabotage you?
Everyone was looking for cover.
I didn't even know that cover was wrong.
Damn you, woman!
You've gone too far!
Because you pushed me out,
I have to write 1,500 lines!
No, it's just training.
- Stupid! What's your problem? - What's your problem?
You did it on purpose!
It's SOCC!
I think it's getting out of hand. I need to go tell Sergeant.
- No! - I think you did it on purpose!
Crazy woman!
Crazy woman!
If you tell Sergeant now, you become the traitor.
- Everyone will hate you. - Exactly.
It's not a good idea to tell Sergeant. No.
Section 2, silence!
Crazy woman!
Stop! Don't fight!
Room, silence!
Silence!
Stop! Don't push like that!
People are fighting here, there, and everywhere!
I can't breathe!
- It's not working. - They can't hear you.
It's not working.
Damn you!
Jingle bells!
We'll close the door and guard outside.
Okay, nobody can come in.
Especially Sergeant.
You try your best to stop the fight.
We'll guard outside.
- Don't let Sergeant come in, okay? - Okay.
You don't come down or I'll break your face.
Stop fighting!
Crazy woman!
Hey, stop fighting!
You, stop fighting!
Okay?
Can you both get out of my bed?
You're looking for serious trouble!
I'll go guard the door.
- I'll follow you. - Okay.
Halt!
Who is that?
- I think it's Sergeant. - It's Sergeant?
I think I'm done for.
Never mind, go say sorry.
Sorry? Me?
Then?
Hi.
Good evening, Sergeant.
I am very, very sorry.
It's stuck. Sorry.
Good night.
- Bravo. - Bravo.
- One, Sergeant. - Two, Sergeant.
- Three, Sergeant. - Three, Sergeant.
- Four, Sergeant. - Four, Sergeant.
Whole lot, recover!
- Yes, Sergeant. - Yes, Sergeant.
Bloody hell! No government, is it?
Where are the rest?
Where's one more of you?
Here.
Recruit, did you hide in the cabinet?
Yes, Sergeant.
I'm taking cover.
Bloody idiot.
Section 2.
Do you know fighting in the bunk
is a very serious chargeable offense?
Now, what do you want me to do?
What do you want me to do?
Okay now.
I want all of you to fall in downstairs with your caps
and your Long 4 on, is that clear?
- Yes, Sergeant. - Yes, Sergeant.
Move now.
Hurry up.
Don't take your own sweet time.
- Fall in, now! Hurry up. - Faster!
Squad, attention.
Face right, straighten file.
Face the front.
March on the spot.
Left, right, left, right, left, right, left.
- Left, right, left, right, - Faster!
left, right, left.
- Left, right, left, right. - Faster! Faster!
- Left, right, left, right. - Faster! Faster!
Left, right, left, right, left, right, left.
Left, right, left, right, left, right, left.
Left, right, left, right, left, right, left.
Out of all the recruits I have trained,
you guys are the most divided section I've ever seen.
Fighting in the bunk like gangsters.
This is not a secret society.
This is the army.
How can I trust all of you to fight in a war
against the enemy?
I am so disappointed in all of you.
You are not deserving to be a soldier.
Why are some of you crying?
You're not at a wake.
Whole lot, knock it down now.
- Yes, Sergeant. - Yes, Sergeant.
- Bravo. - Bravo.
- One, - One,
- two, three. - two, three
Wake up.
- Four, - four,
- five, - five,
- six, seven, - six, seven,
- eight, - eight,
- nine, - nine,
- ten, - ten,
- eleven, - eleven,
- twelve, - twelve,
- thirteen, fourteen. - You.
- Wake up. - Fifteen.
- Sixteen. - Seventeen.
Eighteen.
Nineteen.
Twenty.
Are you all afraid of the rain?
- No, Sergeant. - Whole lot, recover.
- Yes, Sergeant. - March on the spot.
Hurry up.
Left, right.
Faster.
Left, right.
Left turn.
Quick march.
Hurry up, ladies.
Left turn.
Left turn.
Left turn.
About turn.
And I thought you all were heroes.
Hurry up, move.
About turn.
Right turn.
Recruit.
Wake up your bloody idea.
Faster.
Are you scared of the rain?
- No, Sergeant. - Are you all scared of the rain?
- No, Sergeant. - March on the spot.
Sergeant Chow,
I think the rain is too heavy.
I don't want them to get sick.
Yes, ma'am.
Halt.
Okay, go back to your bunk
and dry yourselves up.
Now. Move.
Just this morning,
we received eight complaint emails
about the Defaulter's Parade last night.
CO is also very concerned about this incident.
Can someone explain to me what's going on?
Sir, a fight broke out in the bunk last night.
It's a very serious offense
and I wanted them to learn their lesson.
Also, it wasn't CAT 1 yesterday
and the rain came suddenly.
As soldiers, we shouldn't be afraid of the rain, sir.
I'm not against the Defaulter's Parade itself.
Fighting in the bunk is a very serious chargeable offense.
They should all have been given
three consecutive weekend confinements
as per the SOP.
Don't you think so, Lieutenant Tan?
- Sir. - Sir.
This is actually my own initiative.
I didn't go through Lieutenant Tan.
Your own initiative?
Yes, sir.
As an NSF myself,
one of the worst forms of punishments is confinement, sir.
To not be able to see their families and friends over the weekend
can be very demoralizing for them.
So I decided to do the Defaulter's Parade instead.
Sir, I'm sorry.
I think it's partially my fault too.
So you decided to give them a Defaulter's Parade
in order not to punish them with a confinement?
Yes, sir.
Fighting in the bunk is a very serious offense.
I can't even charge them now
or that will be double punishment.
That's how you protect your recruits?
Are you sure you didn't fall for one of them?
No, sir.
Gather them tonight.
I want to see them.
- Yes, sir. - Yes, sir.
Sergeant Chow.
To be honest, did you fall for anyone in the platoon?
No, ma'am.
Then why did you not give them confinement?
To me, it seems like you're trying to protect someone.
Ma'am.
Do you have a story to tell?
Like I said,
I'm just trying to protect all of them.
I want them to be able to see their family on the weekend.
Do you know that many of them
come from single parent or broken family backgrounds?
They have to go back on the weekend to help their family.
It is very important to them.
That's all.
Sergeant Chow.
I think you have more stories to tell.
When I was a Recruit back in BMT,
I was confined once.
And during the confinement,
my grandmother passed away.
I'm so sorry about that.
I was brought up by my grandmother,
so we were very close.
I just felt super terrible that in her final moments,
I can't even be there because I was stuck in camp
due to confinement.
This is why I think confinement is the worst form of punishment.
Every time when I say,
"My grandmother can do better than you,"
do you think it's a joke?
So it's for real?
Yes.
Let me show you how my grandmother looked like.
This was how my grandmother looked like.
She is one of the toughest women I know.
Do you know she can do everything better than everyone?
She can even run faster than all of the recruits here.
Well,
so your grandmother's story is not a myth.
It's for real.
Of course.
This is why I don't say, "My grandfather can do better than you."
Because even my grandfather
cannot do better than my grandmother.
This is how tough she was.
Ma'am.
Please don't ask me any more questions about my grandmother's stories.
Thanks.
Sergeant Chow, one last question.
When the rest of the Sergeant say,
"My grandmother can do better than you,"
are they referring to the same grandmother?
Sergeant Chow.
I know that many of you
are behind the complaints last night.
You still don't seem to understand
that fighting is a very serious chargeable offense.
You might even end up
in detention barracks.
Or at least,
according to our informal punishment guidelines,
three consecutive weekend confinements.
And how are we supposed to defend our country,
defeat the enemies during wartime,
when we can't even stay united during times of peace?
Yes.
Your Platoon Sergeant took his own initiative.
Instead of confinement,
he gave you a two-hour Defaulter's Parade.
If you had the chance to do it all over,
which punishment would you prefer?
And yes, it did rain.
But there was no CAT 1,
so it was still safe to train.
But are you trying to say,
that as soldiers,
we are afraid of rain?
- No, sir. - No, sir.
So why did Sergeant Chow,
instead of confinement,
give you Defaulter's Parade?
It's because
he did not want to deprive you
of the time you could be spending
with your loved ones
over the weekends.
He wanted you to come back
fresh, recharged,
and ready to face another week of tough training.
Can you see the intentions now?
But you all failed to recognize his good intentions.
And instead, complained against him
for abusing recruits.
Yes.
Sergeant Chow did make a mistake.
For all your sakes,
he did not follow SOP.
Because of the overwhelming number of complaints received,
I now have no choice,
but to punish him accordingly.
And
post him out.
Post out?
Sir.
I want to confess.
I was one of those who wrote the complaint letter.
But after hearing your words,
I think I've made a mistake.
Can I please take back the complaint?
And I'll tell my parents it's our fault.
Punish us.
We'll accept the punishment.
Sir, I also complained.
We don't know the real situation.
We acted on impulse.
Sir, I'm sorry I wrote the complaint letter.
Please don't post Sergeant Chow out.
Sir, I wrote the letter too.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry, sir. I complained too.
Sir, please don't post Sergeant Chow out.
- Please don't. - Yes, don't.
- Please don't post Sergeant Chow out. - It's not his fault.
- We want Sergeant Chow. - We want Sergeant Chow.
- We want Sergeant Chow. - We want Sergeant Chow.
- We want Sergeant Chow. - We want Sergeant Chow.
- We want Sergeant Chow. - We want Sergeant Chow.
I think I am beginning to feel your unity, Section 2.
But that is still not enough.
You need to prove that you deserve Sergeant Chow
as your Platoon Sergeant.
Now show me.
- Yes, sir. - Yes, sir.
- We will. - We will.
Amanda.
- Did you see that? - See what?
- You didn't see anything? - No.
Sir, can I show you something?
Okay.
Village sniper weapon.
Joey, what's wrong with you?
And now,
finally free!
- Yes! - Yes!
Thank you for preparing such a beautiful cake for me.
This is my body length. Is anything wrong?
Does this work?
- Do you want confinement? - No, ma'am.
That's my three-second rule.
Recruit, why are you pointing the rifle at me?
Contacted!
I'll kill you!
There's no route now.
When we walk in, it will appear.
Recruits, this is a bloody muddy place.
You will bring the whole section to die.
Sir.
My stomach is cramping. My aunt is here.
She's here?
This is a controlled area, you know?
If she's here without permission,
you can get charged.
I am your PC.
Second Lieutenant…
Why are these still in your bag?
I drop already.
I want to take properly.
Because it's expensive, you know?
Didn't your mother teach you?
My mother taught me.
My mother said…
She said…
I said…
I want to say…
Say what?
People are trying to earn money.
Didn't your mother teach you?
My mother taught me.
She say bring this to give people…
Sorry.
Few hundred dollars only?
You'd better kiss goodbye.
Kiss…
Kiss what?
So I use my head to bring this one and then do it.
Nice?
Father's army? Good idea!
I can ask my father to come to…
So fat, crying.
Cry so much for what?
The one who should really be crying is you.
- So fat. - So fat?
I look like Darth Vader.
But I still feel so fat.
No, I sad.
Sad, not fat.
Can you not look at me
and always say you're so fat?
I ran
and they ran into me.
And I rolled down the mother.
- Rolled down the mother? - Mother?
- Rolled down the mountain. - Not mother.
Rolled down the mountain.
Rolled down the mountain.
This is so painful, but I didn't cry.
Good. Everything is under control.
Good.
Girl.
Can you see?
Can you see?
King Daddy, your Princess is on set!
I listened,
- but I don't know what you said. - Okay.
But don't worry, everything is under--
- Under control. - Yes.
- Good. - Everything is under control, okay?
And then. Some more?
But you said and I listened.
But I don't understand. Now I feel dizzy.
Never mind, I can explain to you again.
Okay?
Okay.
It's your turn to go.
I'll help you go there.
What?
Sorry.
I can't. I'm going to laugh.
You hear that?
She said she's sad.
Make me make her happy.
Recruit.
You called me Recruit?
Sorry. I said I am Princess Sexy.
Hi, Sergeant.
Good evening.
I am very sorry.
Drunk!
