- Well, you see, one night we
were talking about nice places

to eat, and somehow
the Persian Terrace

came into the conversation.

Before I realized
what was happening,

I had a date to take
her there for dinner.

- Well, that sounds wonderful.

I could afford it,

but I don't have
that kind of money.

- Wally, then why
did you ask her?

- Well, I didn't, exactly.

She's the one who
brought the subject up.

- Well, can't you stall
it off for a little while?

- No, I'm afraid not.

I was pretty specific about it.

You see, we were having
dinner in Benny's hamburger

stand and all of a
sudden she said to me,

"When are you going to take
me to the Persian Terrace,

you cheapskate?"

And I said, "Six
weeks from Wednesday."

- That's too bad.

Of course, if a couple
of close friends of ours

should happen to invite us over
for dinner tonight, naturally

I'd be obligated to accept
