Now the last thing we need to go over before we really jump into this course and start actually drawing

characters is we just need to go over the tools really quick.

If you want you can skip this lecture but if you want to see all the tools we'll be using.

And stick around.

So the first thing you're going to need is you're gonna need a pencil.

So I'm just gonna be using a standard drawing pencil.

Now this course doesn't really go into shading and really detailed things like that we're just gonna

be focusing more on line art and we'll have a little bit of shading in there.

So the pencil type doesn't matter so much.

Just a standard drawing pencil 2B or an HB or just doesn't really matter that much.

You could use a mechanical pencil just some form of a pencil is all you need.

And then also I'll be using a blue colored pencil to to do my under drawings.

You can choose whatever color pencil you want or you don't even have to use a colored pencil.

You can just use a normal pencil and just draw lightly when we do our under drawings and you'll you'll

learn more about that later.

But if you want you can get a colored pencil.

We'll be using that a lot and then you're also going to want a pencil sharpener.

So the pencil sharpener right here just one that works well.

And then you're also going to want an eraser so any type of an eraser will do a needed a race or might

work better for graphite which is just kind of a clay like eraser that can squish around and kind of

mold.

And so just some sort of an eraser work fine and then you're also going to want paper obviously so you

can use just a standard printing copy paper like this.

So this is what I draw on most of time especially when I'm practicing or I'm learning.

I'd like to just use paper The Standard eight and a half by eleven inch paper just because it's so cheap

you can buy a giant pack of 500 sheets for like five dollars or something like that.

So I like to use that and I recommend you use that because it's just the cheapest option.

And if you want to you can also get a sketchbook.

It's good to get in the habit of drawing in a sketchbook.

So if you want go and get a sketch book and you can do all the drawings in this course in a sketchbook.

And lastly I'm going to be using a drawing tablet in Photoshop throughout this course as well but I

don't want to be deterred or scared of that because the way you draw in Photoshop or on a tablet is

exactly how you draw on paper and pencil.

So whether you're going to be using a tablet or you're gonna be using paper or pencil throughout this

course it doesn't really matter.

So don't be scared when you see me drawing in photoshop.

It's basically the same as drawing with a paper and pencil.

I'm not going to be using any super special tools or anything like that in Photoshop until I get to

the coloring part but that's just extra bonus stuff.

So if you want you can draw with a tablet and in something like Photoshop or Carol paint something like

that but don't don't think that you can't draw what I'm drawing when I'm using Photoshop just because

you're drawing with a paper and pencil.

The concepts and the way you draw are exactly the same.

So now that we know we're going to be using throughout this course let's go ahead and let's actually

jump right in and get started with this course.
