All language subtitles for 5. How I Organise & Import Content (GoPro, Drone, Smartphone, etc)

Are ready we'll come back.

It is Brad again ready to dot tv.

We're going to get into the fun aspect of this lecture.

We're going to talk about how to import and organize your footage how I do it.

And then yeah you're going to walk away from this lecture and you're going to know exactly how to organize

and import your content as well.

So on your screen right now we've got Adobe Premiere Pro opened up empty canvas.

There's nothing imported right now.

So in the bottom left hand corner here we've got import media right.

You'll see that here in our project windows are all going to do is you do several things to import your

content.

You can double click on the box that opens up this window or you can drag in the footage that you have

and you can drag it directly into this window here.

Or you can go file imports and do it this way as well.

So there's a few ways you can import the footage but the way I do it is I just double click on the window

pops up like this.

And so you'll see here that I've got on my desktop here.

I've got a folder I'm going to include this as footage that you can download as well.

And you can play with my footage at iSuppli or you can use your own footage on it.

I don't mind.

I'm not going to be offended if you don't use mine.

So we're going to use the footage that I've supplied with this course just for demonstration purposes

so I've got here my folder which is fill a page travel log one and I've got three folders within that

Vacca music drone and go.

So just a quick tip for you if you're shooting with multiple cameras this what I do is I put all the

content from if I'm using my phone to shoot footage or put all that into one folder called smartphone

or Samsung as nine assets if I'm using my GoPro I'll put on my go pro footage into a folder called GoPro

or my drone footage goes into another one and then all my background music that I plan on using goes

into a separate folder.

So if I open up each of these folders of God or my drone content here.

Right.

And this is going to pay dividends for me.

If you just you know structure your content into folders before you even imported into Adobe premi upright

because this is what's going to happen and this is really cool.

And I wish I learned this when I first did I did figure this out you know in my own time.

All you gotta do is you click on the folder.

For example Philip is trouble volved one and I click Import followed up.

And what happens is that Adobe Premiere Pro will actually import that while preserving the subfolder

of GoPro and drone.

So if I go to go profile you'll Yosi here I've got my assets my GoPro videos here.

If I hit the up to this here on your screen that will take me up further in the hierarchy that I can

see I've got drone and all my dry footage in here.

And I never had to individually import those those video files.

They just came along.

You know what I mean when I said I can import followed up a click up.

You know See here my background has been.

And you'll see here that for some reason the folder wasn't preserved.

So what I do is I created what I'll do now is I'll create a new business if you have a look here you'll

see little icons is Ngubane if you click on that it background music into.

And then I'll just drag.

Just click and drag that into that folder called background music.

So I got three bids three folders.

If I hit the up key you'll see my original folder.

So that's the easiest way of doing it.

Now if you don't want to do it that way if you want to drag it in each individual file then you can

do that and then you can create the bins inside like that but this is going to take too much time.

And what I suggest you do before you even start editing is actually do the organizing of everything

in your folders just because when you start adding you like tons of videos and tons of background music.

When you say one of my other projects is pretty big.

Like you get just gets messy message and you can't find anything if you don't have anything organized.

So yeah that's just a piece of advice.

Keep that in mind.

So if we have a quick look at what we've got here we've got to if you go down here on your screen we've

got the list view option and we got the icon view.

You can just play with this kind of stuff in your own time.

Just Got Real quick.

It's going to be a very quick lecture.

We double click on this.

We get it.

I come here if I hit a list view then it displays those icons in a list view.

If I click on this little area here I can see my videos from my drone that I can see the frame right.

And all these all this information here related to the footage that I've imported so I'm going to go

through all of this.

You know you can see that this was shot 30 or 40 about 21 60 which is for k so you can see four K here

and then I can see here that one of them is shot in 1920 by 10 80 not done that deliberately because

I wanted to show you something as we move for the course about what to do when you shoot in different

resolutions and how you create like your sequence when you've got you know different types of different

content shot a different resolution.

So we'll talk about that later.

And you go go pro here to get your content.

So if you change from List view back to icon view double click on it.

You have like these little thumbnails that show up right.

You can get basically a preview of what that footage looks like.

If you do this through the court there's like a little scrub to here so you can scrub the footage here.

Or you even just run your mouse you can run your mouse over the icon and you get a bit of an idea of

what's going on inside the clip.

And as I showed you before you got like like a thing he can click click Ngubane said we want to create

new folders.

You can do that.

As we've already explained.

And if you want to create like generated assets within Adobe Premiere Pro you can create new sequence.

You can create black video.

All this stuff I talk about in separate videos later on.

Don't be too concerned about what all this means.

Right.

It will come with time.

Right.

And that is it's so quick if you double click it.

Any one of these videos here it will show up in the source monitor box on the top left hand corner of

your screen and then you can scrub along here.

But we'll talk more about the monitor box in another video.
