All language subtitles for 3. How I Export Videos to Instagram (Quick Method)

Hi everybody welcome back.

It is Brad here.

I'm going to show you how I create my literal one minute Instagram videos from my blogs.

In this tutorial and so on.

This is the way that I've come up with myself that makes the process really really fast.

So I'll show you how to do it.

If you want you can go over to my Instagram page and just see for yourself.

There's plenty of little clips there and you can see what the end result looks like.

But essentially I've got here on your screen I've got a sequence one of my blogs from Sydney.

And you know it's around 15 minutes long right 16 minutes long.

Now typically my blogs range in length from like five minutes all the way through to like 20 minutes.

Now obviously you can't put that on Instagram it just doesn't support it.

So as you know Instagram video length is one minute okay.

I do TV is of course longer but I'm talking specifically about Instagram.

So what I like to do personally and this is just a personal preference I like to take one minute video

clips out of my longer vlog in my sequence and just export it directly out onto Instagram and I'll show

you how I do that.

So what I usually like to do is I'd like to take the first one minute and I'll export that and I'll

show you how to select only the first one minute of your sequence.

So what I do is I line up my play head here in my sequence to around one minute.

So it's got like 59 seconds over here as you can see and then I press Oh on the keyboard and if I zoom

out you'll see that the selection of the sequence that I will be exporting has been highlighted right.

So that's the piece that I want to export.

Now I'll quickly undo that and I'll show you if you want to export another piece somewhere along the

vlog that's not in the very from the very beginning or you need to do is take the play had press eye

on the keyboard and then move your play head down another minute and press Oh on the keyboard and it

will select that range that's gonna be the highlighted range within your sequence that will be exported.

And as you can see over here you'll see that it will take if you run your mouse over in out.

Duration is one minute thereabouts.

So that's the piece that will be rendered and export it will just be that that highlighted section there.

But I'm going to show for demonstration purposes that I'm taking the very first minute.

So going to go on my keyboard now.

That's the piece I want to export.

Now before I go any further I want to explain real quick that if I go into sequence up here go to sequence

settings.

Now I'm going to do a separate video on this and how to create Instagram videos specifically for Instagram

so I'll show you real quick what I mean.

So this sequence here is AVC HD 10 ATP 50 frames.

Where else is there.

Here we go frame size 1920 by 10 80 which is 16 by 9.

So technically speaking this is not the best format or the best formatting for Instagram.

This is not usually if you're creating a video specifically for Instagram you wouldn't create a canvas

16 by 9.

So I'll do a separate video for you where I talk about exactly how to create Instagram videos only for

Instagram but this video that I've created now is actually more for YouTube Amazon Prime and I just

don't have the time to set up a new sequence and do it according to what Instagram prefer.

So I'm going to show you this way.

Okay.

And then I just go control m on my keyboard so control M or you can go up here to file export media.

Right.

There's two ways you can do it and then a little box or pop up and my laptop's taking a long time because

it's also recording the screen so I'll wait for it to load and then I'll show you what's happening.

So when this box pops up it will give you a bunch of things that you can select.

And this is exactly what I select.

So I've got a here format H dot 264.

I leave that as is I.

Then I'm going to click on this and I'm just gonna re name this I'm going to call it Instagram because

I know that that file is specifically for Instagram.

I want both the video and the audio exported.

Now if I move down I'm going to accept that this is 19 20 by 10 80 and that it's at 50 frame okay now

as I said Instagram technically it's when you're creating video specifically for Instagram you're never

usually do it at night in 2014.

Okay so if I move down I'll do a separate video on that for sure.

Move down to here it says Target bit right.

This is really important.

I usually change this to around five right.

So it's five megabits per second is gonna be my bit rate.

And if you have a look down here the estimated file size changes to about 37 megabytes.

Now if I change that back to say 16 you'll see the estimated file size is 116 megabytes.

Now I found in my previous past experience that that's just too big you know and it won't upload and

Instagram compresses everything anyway.

So it's just a waste of time.

Usually just bring it down to five.

I like to keep this under 50 megabytes.

Make sure you just you keep the file size to under 50 megabytes if your video you're exporting is around

one minute.

As you can see here we've got the in and out points here.

Right.

So this is the piece of the vlog that's going to be exported.

Okay so source range down here will be sequence in and out.

And so a total of 59 seconds and a half will be exported and that's all you need to do.

But it's like anything else.

I don't really worry too much about anything else.

I then hit export.

I let that export and then when it finishes I copy this over to my phone and I uploaded onto Instagram

from my phone.
