All language subtitles for 2. How I Sync Footage to Music Beats (Awesome!)

I've already Welcome back it is Brad again from Brad and Octavia I'm going to show you a really cool

editing technique that I've been using for a while now to make my videos really interesting when I go

travelling overseas like what you just saw a moment ago.

And someone is going to teach you how to sync your back music to your video clips.

It's very very easy to do.

I'm going to show you how to do it.

And then over time you're going to get better at it and you're going to get a better feel for the song

that you're choosing.

And then with that feeling you'll get better at like you know using that against the clips to create

a certain type of mood.

So let's get straight into it.

So right now I've got my background track that I plan on using.

I'm going to play it right.

So sounds pretty good.

I like the bay.

OK.

So that's my little track that I've got I've got this included.

You can download this and you can play with this one or you can use your own.

This one's copyright free.

So the first thing I want to do is if you drag the background track onto the time line and it looks

like this and it's really compressed and you can't see it because it's like really small.

The first thing to do is expand it out to make it bigger so you can see what's going on with the wife

on.

So the easiest way of doing that is I've showed you in a couple of previous videos it's just kitschy

cursor moving around here.

Paul B OK down on your keyboard and then use the scroll wheel on the mouse and that and that just using

the scroll wheel on the mouse you can expand that track.

And you can see exactly what's going on with the waveform.

And so I can look at this way form and see automatically there's a b b b right there.

Right.

And if I play it fake fake fake fake fake fake right you get the idea.

So now it's up to you as the logger's the creator to decide what you can use.

Right.

So like again you use every every bait in the track you know every second day every third day every

fourth day.

You know it's completely up to you.

And the only way to figure this out is right or wrong.

It's a completely creative decision that over time you'll get better at making Once you get a a good

feel for the song that you're using the kind of mood that you want to create a new audience and that

kind of thing.

So in this case for me if this was me personally because this track is a very fast paced very upbeat

it's very tropical.

It feels like Salmaan.

It moves very quickly and I'll play it again.

That's very fast paced and so because I've got drawing clips here and I've included this that you can

you can download these clips.

I feel like for me personally in this I wrote a song that I don't want to use every single day.

I just want to use like maybe every third or fourth date.

So if I play this back I'm going to show you how to create some markers and then I'm going to show you

how to sync your video clips.

In this case the drone clips against the markers that we're about to create so that students play this

boom boom boom boom boom boom boom boom boom boom boom boom boom boom.

OK.

So at that point you get a mark here.

I've already decided in advance that that drop in the bait is going to be something pretty awesome like

I want something pretty significant to happen at that point.

I don't even know what it's what's going to happen whether I want some text whether I want like something

really really cool like my best clip if I want to drop it there or not.

I don't know.

But it's it's a big drop in the bay and I want to do something at that point.

I've dropped a marker there.

So what you going to do.

You've got this option here it's called Ad Marka or you've got the option on the keyboard.

So if I just hit em if I play this I'll show you exactly what to do.

I get to use every fourth beat in this track and you can if you want to you can do every day it's up

to you.

I'm going to play this by hitting the spacebar on my keyboard space.

Boom boom boom boom boom boom boom boom boom boom boom boom box.

And I've already Moff that.

So I don't have to do it twice.

So you can see I've mocked at some points on my timeline here at the top and if I zoom into my timeline

you'll see how I wanted to catch the market.

The bait and where it's not caught.

I just click on the market and I drag it to get my play head and I'm using my play head is almost like

a rule.

So that blue line is kind of lined up with the bait down there.

And I get my marker and I just move it.

So it's in line with my play head.

And then I zoom out a little bit.

I go to the next one.

Go to the next bait.

I'm like oh the Bate's actually there.

So I want to use my Mokka drag it across.

And then I scroll across.

This is and here's my play had my Mark dragged across.

Right.

And then I've got two markers here.

But one of them I want to use my play head that's where the bait.

Get my marker.

But this get rid of this one if you have a marquee you want to get rid of you just click on the marker

right click on it and click is selected MoCCA and all disappear.

Right now this is where the fun stuff happens.

I'm going to use and drawing clips the ones I've supplied with the course get the first one I'm going

to drag it on to my timeline.

Right.

Watch what happens.

Now at this point I want my click to change so easy and my next drawing clip on and drag it out I'm

just going to line it up with that line.

Right just like that

changes.

Well tops the running a little slower because I'm also recording my screen changes.

And then at this point I want to change again so I can just get my next clip see how the clip itself

is lining up with the Markoe.

Right.

Blackline I can just drop straight there like that.

And then for my next marker I'll use my next drawing clip and I drop it straight down like that and

watch what happens I'll play it back.

Now if it's running really slow.

If the playback speeds really slow on your laptop or your computer or your Mac or whatever.

One way of speeding it up is by if you go to your program want to hit the dropdown.

It's like one quarter of 1 8 3 1 6 day.

It means that the playback will be at one fourth of the full playback resolution.

Now my case I'm recording the screens is probably still going to be a bit slow but you get the idea.

So playback change change change change.

Now at that point I want something to change dramatically.

So I get my raise it all I ever hear or see on the keyboard.

Click on that and then I'm going to cut that get my select two.

And now I'm going to delete that

and then I might put some text in there or something about that.

And it's completely up to you I might just type it in now.

So Philippines going to make a big I'm just doing this pretty quick.

I explain how to use text in another video.

I'm going to center it really quick as you can see.

All right Mike it's super big.

I don't want to use red as my stroke.

I just want to use why in my case because I've got a black background.

Center again.

OK.

Watch this.

Zoom in.

I'll get rid of this black space by doing bye.

This is one thing you can do.

I do this all the time.

I right click ripple delete it drags it in and snaps those two together.

There we go.

There we go.

Done.

And so just to close off this video.

If you find that for example you beat off like this for example

you're like oh no it's like way off items.

And then these is way of adjusting it is you can either use the roll edit function so you can hide the

end on your keyboard or you can click it up here.

And this is rolling edit tool.

And then you could just move it like this so that what you're doing is you're essentially extending

this clip and you're shortening this clip right.

And so if we play it back it works perfectly.

And as you can see we're used to rolling it at all.

And you can see that because of drop that mark there.

I know exactly where I'm going to let my mask go just like that.

OK.

So easy.

And then Michael Holland a second I've got like a big gap there.

So again I can just hit my select to click on this edge and extend that out.

There we go.

Perfect so that you guys I hope that was helpful.

That's pretty much the basics of sinking your background tracks to your video clips.

Play around with it.

You don't have to use the markers you can just use if you right click on the marker and and click on

clear or markers then all these markers will disappear.

But do that again clear markers or those markers will disappear.

You can just use your play head if you want to and just use your play head as a marker and just keep

keep moving you play head across and that's it.
