Asgard, the kingdom of the gods.

Here lives one-eyed Odin,
the king of the gods -

- and the mighty god of thunder, Thor.

From their home in Asgard,
the gods assemble in Valhalla.

Here, they receive the worship
of the mortals -

- that gives gods strength and life.

From Valhalla, Odin watches over
all the three kingdoms of the world -

- sending out his ravens to gather news
from distant lands.

From horrifying Utgard -

- home to the troll-like creatures
known as giants -

- rulers of darkness and chaos.

And from Midgard,
the land of the mortals -

- home to the proud Vikings
and hard-working peasants.

But the power and glory of the gods
is diminishing.

A thousand-year war with the giants
has pushed Valhalla into a darkness.

A darkness that may end in... Ragnarök.

Dear gods. Change me into a raven
so I can fly far away from here.

two of Valhalla's most powerful gods.
