welcome back to another video

and today I'm very excited

because I want to share with you

a little bit about email marketing strategies

and autoresponders

how that works

and how you can have that on your WordPress website

so as you can see here

I have a very simple image to kind of illustrate how

email marketing and auto respond

this work so ping

you talk a lot about having people opt into your lead

magnet or your free product

so how does this all work out right

so just to walk you through the flow

first imagine

someone interested in something that you have to offer

whether it's for free or a training a video

a blueprint a template

they opt in to your website

and then they receive an email from you

whether it's to provide them with a resource

a video or if someone purchase your product

right so they receive a welcome email

like welcome to the program

and then you would then send them content emails

or it could be follow up emails

you know if you are just

catering to people that are brand new to your list

it will be giving them content and value

and then along the way

you will be able to then promote a product

lead them to a site

or continue to build a relationship with them

and you can then build a relationship with your list

and your customers

and eventually you know

sell them products

which you feel is you know

compliments to whatever that you have been sending them

or something that you find valuable for them as well

so autoresponders is the software that you need for

your email marketing right

so basically

autoresponders are very powerful automated tools

that helps you to send an email

or a series of email

to someone that has opted in to your email list

either via a web form or an opt in form

and the cool part of setting up an autoresponder

is that it handles everything automatically

as soon as someone option right

you can set when someone will receive the email

how long it takes for the email to reach them

on the subsequent ones

like 1 day till they receive the next one

3 days she'll

till they receive the next one

so that that's the cool part of auto respond this

so you be able to save a lot of time

and you have everything automated

and once you know

you have all this setup

it will work like clockwork

like you know

it will follow the time

and day that you are trying to send them emails

um and the great part is also you know

you get to broadcast a message at any time

to anybody on your list

so I'll walk you through um

what list are building your campaigns

and how it all works

um you know

and you can even schedule broadcast

messaging to them

so auto responders

there are a couple of free platforms out there

and there's also paid platforms

so you know

if you type in auto responders on Google

you'll be able to see that there are a lot of

email providers like

top 10 let's take a look

so there's a Webber

there's milchimp

eye contact

you know these different things

infusion solve

it's something that we use it's more

it has more features

of course it comes with a price

there's get response

and different service providers like these

so for today's demonstration purposes

I like to walk you through a service called Mailchimp

so what's great about Mailchimp is it's very intuitive

it's very advanced

it's Dragon Drop

and the best thing about it is

that it's free for

the first 2,000 subscribers

and you can actually send 12,000 emails a month

so if you're just starting out

this is actually a great service for you to kind of get

get you know

get get your hands dirty and

and kind of embarrass yourself with setting up

or to respond this

and you know

if you have 2,000 people on your list you know

you know that you're on the right path

and then you can actually upgrade to a monthly program

or you know

try different service providers

so we are in no way affiliated to Mailchimp

it's just something that we find it's easy to use

especially if you're just starting out

and it's free right so

just to show you how it works

the concepts of autoresponders

it seem for different platforms

but so since this is a free platform

I can show you the different capabilities of

and auto responder

so if you do decide to go with melting

here's what you need to do

just sign up for a brand new account over here

fill in your details

you will ask you for what kind of business you're in

and things like that

if you don't have a business

what kind of things that you plan to do

so once you've got everything set up

it's a very straightforward process

then you can go ahead and log in

I'll just log into my demo account over here

oh so just to mention

if you are not sure how often forms look like

I'll just go to one of Pingju's funnels

so for example

this is a form

an order form

that catches information when someone makes an order

so for example

proven presentations

this is a pop up form

you know for people to register for webinar

so all these different forms

the information that your customer send

has to be captured somewhere right

so this is where auto responder comes into play

so to start off um

this is my demo Mailchimp account

I'll just briefly walk you through the different things

that you need to take note off

so for example um

let's say proven presentations right

so if someone opts

and is interested in proven presentations

they will need to fill up this form

and someone that fills up this form

they will then go into a list

for example

if you call it proven Presentations registration list

so that's your list

so if you have 10 people registering to the list

you will then have a list of 10

you know customers

and then you can then set

what kind of emails these 10 people will receive

on a daily basis

or depending on the different schedule so

if I just go into list

so I've already set up a demo list over here

so it's really simple

if you want to create a brand new list

so the first step would be to create a list

and then create a campaign

and then you create the different emails

that is within your campaign right

so someone opts into your form

goes into your list

and this list immediately receives an email

and then they go through an email sequence

so that's the whole flow of this autoresponder

or email marketing process

so if you want to create a list

you can go ahead and create one brand new one here

so if you are someone that already has a list right

you you have a list of people that has from you know

a list of people

that have provided you with their details

whether it's offline online

you can actually import it from a file

manually add a subscriber

or even connect to your ecommerce store

if that's something that you are doing

if not then it's as easy as creating a brand new list

and then let me see

so this this is where you create your

brand new campaign

oh my bad so here

create a list

right so you

there's a lot of different settings over here

but what's the most important step

is that you can create lists

for example

if you're selling

let's say a 30 day of free e book right

free e book campaign free e book list 2019

so then you can

take a look at different customizations over here

but it's as simple as

oh okay I have to fill this in

so this is the address people will reply to

yes so you just need to key in

the email address that you're using

so for example if I'm

sending an email to support at small will calm

so this is the details that they will see

and they will apply to

and I can put small team

let's see

okay so remind people

how you sign up to your list so you

opted into one of my

free e book giveaways

right so nowadays privacy and email marketing are very

very strict so

you'll have to fill up all these different informations

so there's different settings as well

if you want to enable double opt in

that means when someone opts into your form

they will have to click on the confirmation email

that they receive

when they subscribe to your list

so this kind of gathers their second

the consent for the second time

so that you know

you don't get yourself involved in bot spamming

or people would accuse you of

falsely acquiring people's email address

because you've already done this step right

so you can then set notifications

subscribe or unsubscribe activity

for example

if someone just subscribed to your list

then you will receive a notification

so this is different notification

settings that you have access to

all right so if not

then it's as simple as that

creating a brand new list

right so you can imagine

like if you have 10 list

you can see how many subscribers you have um

whether they are opening your emails

or whether they're clicking on the different links

that you have in your emails

right so you can manage the stats

um do so many different things

it's great right

for a free platform um

so the first thing is create a list

which we have already done

the next thing

I like to just

explain a little bit about setting up a campaign

so for example

free e book

you have a free e book section

right you want to give out to your customers

so I've already created one campaign over here

but perhaps I could create a brand new campaign

just to show you how it works

so just click on Create Campaign

so there's different options over here

so let's go ahead and choose an email

so my campaign is my free ebook campaign

so

let me see I'll just create a regular one

right so to who are you sending this campaign to

so I can add recipients so I can choose a list right

for example

my free e book list

what that means is whoever they subscribe to this list

will then go through this campaign of yours right

so you can segment or tag different subscribers

new subscribers

active subscribers

or whoever that is subscribed on this list

let's leave that as that

um personalized

the two failed

let's see okay

so let's leave these SS

safe

okay there's no one in my list so

let me just add someone

so you want to indicate that this person

gave me permission to email them

because you know

so that Milky knows that I did not falsely or

unethically receive this email right so

okay let's do this again

perhaps I could try a different email address

hmm that's weird

already subscribe hmm okay great

just do a quick refresh over here

right so guess that this was the lag in my internet

but basically I have 2 subscribers right now

if I want to manage them

this is where I am able to see their contacts

so back to my campaign

I want to send this

email campaign to my free ebook list

perfect my subject

what's my subject line for this campaign

so I can set up the first email that

you know that receive like for example

as promised

here is your ebook

okay click save

and then I'll be able to design the content of my email

right so I can design the email

so Mailchim actually have

a lot of different email templates you can use

which are free

but it really depends

you can actually design your email

just to show you I'll just use a basic one

so as you can see here

Milchim's interface is very intuitive

it's very easy to use

how it works is

you know it's all drag and drop

can drag test text element over here

you can have

different

you can have your logo

you can add a button

and then you can meet you know

subscribe now

and you can link them to different URL

so it's very intuitive

this is where you change your text

so thank you for subscribing

to my email

right so this is just for example right so

you can play around since it's a free account

and you can just drag things around like this

let me just save and close

so there we go

so this is how I set up a campaign in fact

because I chose a singular email

I can actually send it

um but I walk you through how I can create a sequence

and automated sequence

so this is like um

just imagine as an email broadcast right

you can broadcast to whoever that's in your list

and you can send

you can schedule

so you can schedule

for example

when these people will receive your emails

on a specific date a specific time

and then you can schedule your campaign so that's that

so if you want to create an automated campaign

let's see there we go

so there's different options over here

you can check out

there are different

options

which are really really handy

so this is one of the email sequences that I've created

so that it you know it has a workflow

so let me see if I can locate

the campaign I created just now let me see

perhaps a custom one

free e book campaign 2.0 which I will send to my list

yep so this is just an example

so when you create a campaign like this

you can half

whole sequence of emails right

so you can see the trigger is one day

after subscribers are manually added to the workflow

so one day after they have been subscribed to this list

just for example

so if I want to edit the trigger

I can then set they receive immediately

for example

or they receive 3 hours

after an email has been sent out

or after they have subscribed to the list

so there's different options you can look into

just to show you an example

right so this

is just one of the campaigns that I created

the trigger is

immediately after subscribers join my list

so as soon as someone subscribe to my list

they receive a welcome email

one day after they've received the welcome email

they receive a follow up email saying how are you

or you know

how's it going

so the same thing I designed the email I added

if you want to add new emails here

you can do that as well

so you can see that the workflow is

it may look a little foreign and a bit tough at first

but as you play around with it

you will soon understand that it's fairly simple

someone opts into your list

it triggers the welcome email

and one day later it triggers the second email

right so after that

it's just all about confirming the campaign

making sure you'll be sending the to the correct list

and your emails are good to go

so that's the basics of how a campaign works

and the great part is

you can actually send a test email to yourself

to kind of take a look at

whether you're happy with the design

whether you know

you can do a typo test to see if you know

you have grammar and typos out of the way

you can test and you can send it to your own email

so that's that's one of the handy features right

so you can see what your customers are

about to see in their email

okay so exhibit starting

you be able to use the templates as well

if you you know

if you have created an email template that you know

you would like to use in your subsequent emails

you can create them

so that when you create a brand new email

you will always be able to use an old template

so you don't have to set the whole thing up

you just need to set up

change the copy

you know change the different

images that is in that specific template

so this is really handy as well reports

basically reports for your campaigns

right so I don't have any reports right now

because I've never

ran a campaign with this account before

but once you started running a campaign

you'll be able to see

you know how many subscribers you have

how many people got your first email

how many people open your second email

so it's all very systematized

and it's really handy

that you'll be able to see in this platform

content so this is just where you manage your content

you can upload different images

that you use for email campaigns or your email setup

so this is where you be able to see it

I know this topics a little bit dry

but this is key to your email marketing campaigns

and you know

just go ahead and create a free account

and just try creating a very first campaign

and you be able to see that it's very simple

and so with the same process

create a list

create a campaign

monitor the statistics

change your copy

change your logo

so the next thing is

once you've got this setup

how do you actually link it up

to your WordPress website

right so that's the million dollar question

so if you go to

this is just our demo site

just a fresh WordPress site so

how do you have opt in forms on your WordPress site

how do you allow someone to opt into your form

and go into your list

so the first thing you want to do is

actually go in here

so the great thing about WordPress is

there are a lot of different plugins and widgets

which you can install

and for Millchimp itself

they have a plugin specifically for WordPress

so you just have to do a one time integration

and you'll be able to use the built in plugin

to help you with form creations and things like that

so what you want to do is to go to plugins

and search for milkshake

this is a really highly rated Militane plugin

so I'll go ahead and use that click on install now

and I'll click activate under my plugins list

okay and then you can see

there's the Mailchimp forward press over here

so it's really straightforward

what you can see here is that we have not integrated

the WordPress to our Mailchim account

so how do you do that

right you need an API key

so an API key is just a key to

to have both platforms talk to each other

it's right so to just connect them together

so it's really straightforward

even though if you don't understand what API key is

just go to your Mailchime account

under your profile

and click on settings and oh integration my bad

was it integration

let me see but there we go extras in API keys

and

I've already created one here

so I'll just use the same one

just want to copy the API key

and paste it over here and click save

there we go

so it's really

really simple to get your WordPress account connected

to your Mailchimp account

so once you've connected

you can see that almost instantaneously

you can see that two of my list has appeared

on my WordPress dashboard

so that tells me that I'm able to

create forms dedicated to a dedicated list

right my demo list has one subscriber

my free ebook campaign has two subscribers

so it's really

really handy

and once you've got this setup

it's a one time setup thing right

so if you have created a brand new list in milchimp

then you just need to click on renew

and then here

you know it will then appear depending on the list

that you have on your milchimp account

right so the next thing I like to walk you through

is creating a brand new form within WordPress

okay so for example

you know you expect the same example

my free ebook campaign for example

this is the farms name

so to which mailchim list should this farm subscribe to

right so my exact same list

the free ebook campaign list

and then I'll add a brand new form

okay so this is the interface

on how you can add a brand new form on your WordPress

so there's a form preview over here

so these are the different list fields

you can add to your form right

so if you're gathering just a name and email address

so these are the different fields that you need

so it's really

really simple

click on first name for example

um you can put different placeholders

um initial value

or select whether this field is required or mandatory

right so if I click this

add to form

there we go

so this is the first name

I'll add the last name in as well

so placeholders are basically like

fill fill this in

right so it's like

please hold it to kind of indicate

I'll give them a guide

on what they're supposed to fill in over here

so if you like to collect more details

you able to add more fields or use these details

but to start out

if you are providing someone with a free item

first name last name and email address will be good

and you can actually add different form fields

or you can even change

you know the different labels of your farm items

so if you don't want it to be your first name

you can just put name so it reflects immediately

so I know this has something to do with code

but it's really straightforward

it's within the labels

you can check it out

so first name

first name you can change

you know if you want it to be named

and then if you don't want it to be called a sign up

you could then put

sign sign me up right so it's very very functional

and you're able to change things here and there

oops okay why did I create that

okay so

if I'm happy with my form I can click save

of course this is just the most basic form of

an opt in form

right you can

tweak different things you know

what they receive

you know the message they receive after they subscribe

you know if their email address is wrong

these different things are all customizable

you can change settings

you can subscribe to a different list

use double opt in different different things

that's all it's all free and it's amazing

so appearance

you can actually change the different form appearance

for example if you want to use a blue team

there we go so it immediately looks different

it's very customizable

of course with a free platform

you know P auto responders

of course they can have a lot more

options in terms of beautifying your form

but on the most basic form

this will do just fine

right so you can click on save

so what you want to take note over here

is this short code

this short code

which you can use to display inside the your post

your page or your text widget right

so I'll just copy this which will be using a bit later

so for example if I have

if I want to add this in one of my pages

so for example

if I do a quick

page setup let me see

this is a sample page

okay let me create a brand new brand new page

so for example free ebook subscribe below

so if you're interested in claiming my free ebook

fill in your details below

so how do you add that form in here right

so what you need to do is to click on this button here

and change it to Code Editor

I know this is still

this looks a little different

because I think what press has updated your interface

it's now a lot more cleaner and more intuitive

so you click on Cool Editor

and then what you can do is

then paste it within one of the paragraphs

so I'll just paste the code

the shortcut that I got from my form

and then I can change it back to Visual Editor

and I click let me see if it works

click on preview

yeah there we go so

it's that simple

so now you have a page

which have an opt in form over here

and okay since it works

I'll click on publish

so this is how you know you integrate your

Mailchim form into your WordPress website right

so if someone opts in

for example

to show you how it works

so are you subscribed

okay I'll use a different one

just to subscribe and just show you how it works

all right great

so it says thank you

your sign up request was successful

please check your email inbox to confirm

so the reason why it needs a confirmation

it's because we selected the double opt in option

where people have to confirm their email address

for them to be subscribed to your list

so that's one of the options you can use

so I'll just go back to my list

so you can see that the list has 2 subscribers

because I will need to confirm my email address

I'll just do that and I'll be right back

alright so this is it

so I opened up the confirmation email

so I'll need to then subscribe myself to the list

there we go

so this just kind of confirms the subscription

so if you don't want

your customers to go through this double opt in

that's okay as well

but then you will now notice

that when you refresh your list size

you will notice that you will have a new subscriber

because someone has opted in to your opt in form

right so it's as simple as that

and

so because this is still in draft

but what happens if someone subscribes to my campaign

they will then receive and a welcome message

immediately

so that's really the gist of how you can create

other forms and have it integrated to your site

so if you don't want it on your specific page

you can actually have it as a widget

so if you go on the widgets

you can create for example

yep you can have your Mailchimp sign up form

you can place it in

your footer

or your

post and patience sidebar

right so I'll just

show you an example free ebook click save

so then you can see

that creation actually created

the Optim form is the same Optim form but in the footer

right I can have it on

I'm just going back to my widgets

I can have it in my secondary widget area

example if I drag this sign up form

same thing click see

I go back to my website

then you can see that we have an opting farm over here

so of course

because my page doesn't have any content

and the ebook opting farm is just overlaying over

my footer as well

so I'll be able to fix that up

if I have content on my site

and you can imagine on your right corner

you will then have

enough inform for people to clean your ebook

you can add images and different things like that

so it's really handy

so that's really all

so you know

um give it a go

play around

get familiar with campaigns

template list

see how it all works

you can even opt in yourself your email address

and you can see how you receive your emails

in a sequential basis

right so think of it of these

you want to set this up

you know so that you can have it

in conjunction with your online business

when someone purchases your program

they receive an email

or if someone claims their free ebook

they receive an email

a few days later

you get a relationship with them

and have more emails coming their way

so email marketing is stable right

with any online business even

you know you receive emails from pingjun right

a lot of them are automated and yes

been set up by one of our content members in our team

so it's the same thing for yourself

this is one of the key components that you need to

you know for your online business

to build a relationship with your customers

and most importantly

build a list

right so you always hear people say

the money is in the list

because you can imagine if

you have 2,000 people subscribe to your free ebook list

this is 2,000 lives that you can potentially impact

sell them a product

build a relationship um

and provide them with value right

as long as you're genuinely providing them with value

they will stay with you and become your follower

so that's really all

in terms of setting up an autoresponder
