[ominous music playing]

- Where are we, Batman?
- We'll find out in—

[suspenseful music playing]

- Boy, that was close.
- Come on.

Only a reflection of our headlights
in this mirror.

What have we gotten into now?

[Catwoman] Won't you come in, please?

- That voice.
- It's the Catwoman.

How nice of you to remember, Batman.

What's your game, Catwoman?

You Caped Crusaders
have been my nemesis for too long.

So you must cease to exist.

I warn you, Catwoman,
you're not playing with mice.

[laughs] I know.

I am playing with
the world's greatest escape artists.

Therefore, I offer you a challenge.

Since a cat has nine lives, Batman,

I have set nine lethal traps,

which I have spent years devising.

I expect you to survive one, two, perhaps more.

But I know you cannot survive them all.

The mirror wall. Batarang.

[Catwoman laughs]
My friends, you cannot get out safely,

except through one of those doors,
the one which leads to freedom.

Where did she go?

An old stage illusion, Robin.
I'll explain it to you later.

Let's pick a number, Robin.
How about starting at the top?

[growling]

[suspenseful music playing]

[snarling]

Move slowly. Back.

[panther growls]

- Good shot, Batman.
- The Catwoman.

[Robin] She was inside the cage all the time.

[suspenseful music playing]

Now that you're trapped here with us, Catwoman,
will you show us the door that leads out?

- Never.
- All right.

Then we'll try them all together.

No. Not that one.

Now will you show us the safe one?

All right. I'll show you.

Come.

This is a tunnel
leading back to the surface.

Follow me.

[narrator] But the felonious female
is not giving up so easily.

For on the surface, the Catmen rig a surprise
in case the Dynamic Duo should escape.

Okay, Cat. Fix the bomb now.

Here's where I leave you, gentlemen.

- [Robin] Gas.
- Batmasks. Quickly.

Now, let's settle with Catwoman
once and for all.

There she goes.

[heroic music playing]

[engines rev, then tires squeal]

The bomb's set to explode
when they hit 60 miles an hour.

[Catwoman] Good. Here we go.

[engine revving]

[beeping]

- The electronic bomb detector.
- It's set for 60. Hang on for a Bat-stop.

[suspenseful music playing]

- The bomb. [explosion]
- [laughs]

And the end of the Dynamic Duo.

[Robin]
We got away just in time, Batman.

Now, let's put Catwoman away.

No, Robin. Let her think we're dead.
That'll give us freedom to operate.

Come on. Let's go home.

They escaped the bomb.

But no matter. By tomorrow,
Batman will no longer be a threat,

for then I will know his secret identity.

[narrator] Later, in stately Wayne Manor,
an incredible phenomenon occurs.

Bruce. You—

You too. We're both glowing.

Mr. Wayne, uh, Master Dick.

This glow won't come out
of your costumes.

I've tried everything.

And, oh, yes, the Batphone, sir.
Commissioner Gordon.

Batman, a devastating tape recording was
just delivered by messenger to my office.

You must hear it at once. Listen.

[Catwoman on recording]
By now, Batman and Robin,

you know that the gas
in the tunnel was radioactive.

Your bodies will glow,
shine like beacons for 24 hours.

When you appear in public in your secret
identities, I will know who you are.

Your careers as crime fighters will be over.

What does this mean, Batman?

[Bruce over radio] I'll call back
and tell you, commissioner. Goodbye.

Big deal. We don't go out as Bruce Wayne
and Dick Grayson for 24 hours, that's all.

No, Dick, it's not so simple.

Tomorrow is election day and Bruce Wayne
must go to the polls to vote.

- It's my duty as a citizen.
- But you can't, Bruce.

Catwoman will know you're Batman.

Maybe.
Unless we can break down this chemical.

Come on. To the Batlab.

[narrator] The next day,
all Gotham City turns out to vote.

And watching
from her secret observation post,

Catwoman suddenly gets the answer
she has been waiting for.

Now I know for sure.
Millionaire Bruce Wayne is Batman.

[narrator] Disaster of disasters.

Catwoman has discovered
Batman's true identity.

One doesn't question the Caped Crusader
when he makes a request, does one?

Come in, Robin. Report.

Nothing suspicious yet, Batman.

[mischievous music playing]

Batman and Robin just started transmitting
on a high sonic frequency, Catwoman.

Can our new remote-control,
anti-burglar alarm cut-off jam it, Tabby?

Oh, sure. Easy.

There's the Boy Wonder in the Batmobile.

I'll make sure he sees me,
and then start up fast.

Catwoman.

Robin to Batman. I've spotted her.

- [Tabby] He's sending.
- Jam his signal.

She's in a "Miss Kitty's Woolen Mill" truck.

Am in pursuit. Out.

Come in. Come in, Robin.

Hmm. That's odd.

[suspenseful music playing]

[engine revving]

- And you haven't heard from Robin, Alfred?
- No, Mr. Wayne.

It's not like him to miss a radio check.

[Tabby]
Looking for something, Wonder Boy?

The cat's meows.

[grunts]

I'm worried, Alfred. Robin's way overdue.

I shouldn't worry too much, sir.
He is rather resourceful, you know?

There. His homing radar signal
will bring Batman right to us.

[heroic music playing]

[Catwoman laughs]

He carries a hardware store in that belt of his.

Boy. Wait till I get that Catwoman.

That's going to be hard to do, Batman. Look.

- Know what we can do?

Check. Load Batslings with explosive pellets.

[Catwoman purrs]

[Catwoman] I knew I would get them
one way or another.

Quicksand, Caped Crusaders.

The world's most dangerous natural killer.

Tonight, Tabby, we celebrate.

Every jewelry store, every safe,
every bank is ours for the taking.

Won't that be nice? [chuckles]

Have you worked your hands free yet?

Good. Activate your jet heel units,
and let's hope they work.

[rumbling]

To the Batcopter.

[narrator] Meanwhile,
at the Gotham Diamond Exchange,

the feline felon and her terrible tabbies
indulge in an orgy of theft.

- [Tabby] When the Bat's away…
- [Catwoman] The cats can play.

[Tabby & Catwoman chuckle]

- You.
- How'd you bypass our anti-alarm cut-out?

If you could jam our sonic frequency,
we can jam yours.

[Robin] And we just did.

[Catwoman growls] Get them.

[Robin] Watch out, Batman.

I hate to cast pearls before swine, but…

Look, Batman. Catwoman's getting away.

I'll get her.

There you are. Snug as a bug.

[grumbling]

Tricked. Trapped. [grumbling]

So, what else is new, Pussycat?

The game is yours, Batman,
but you've used up your nine lives.

When we meet again,
and I promise you we will,

there will be a different ending.

The tantalizing tigress of terror
is behind real bars now

thanks to you, Caped Crusaders.

She wasn't easy, sir.

Yes, she gave us a workout, commissioner,
and I'm ready for a short rest.

[all laughing]

[narrator] The Gotham City Library,

where Batgirl, in her guise
as plain Bab Gordon, is librarian.

Oh, no, not him again.

[laughing]

[suspenseful music playing]

[thuds]

Holy collision.

The Dynamic Duo.

- You dropped this.
- Oh, thank you, Boy Wonder.

[Babs] You won't believe this, Batman,

but The Joker's been borrowing books
on pirate lore by the dozens.

He must be up to something.

[Batman] Not necessarily.

He may just be improving his mind.

I don't care what Batman says.
I think The Joker's up to no good.

And I'm going to find out as Batgirl.

[narrator] A little while later,
the girl Caped Crusader arrives

at a sandspit of land
far out in Gotham Bay.

What's this?
A ship with The Joker's name and flag?

[Joker] Dig, me hearties. Dig, we must.

[laughing]

So that's The Joker's game.
He's making a movie of Treasure Island.

But why is that camera pointing away?

[thuds, then Batgirl shouts]

She's out cold, Joker.

Take her to the ship.

While you languish here,
I and my hearties

will continue our spectacular production
of the ages.

[laughing]

The Joker took my utility bag,
but not my Bat-buckle.

I must signal for help.

[beeping] SOS from Batgirl.

- Plot it, chum.
- Roger.

It's coming from Skull Island.

[Batman] To the Batboat. Fast.

[narrator] At this moment,
in the Joker's ship's brig,

Batgirl finds she can reach the Jolly Joker
ensign and cleverly turns it upside down.

[Robin] Look, on that old pirate ship.

- An upside down flag.
- It's the international distress signal.

Let's go, Robin.

[theme music playing]

Repel boarders!

Avast, swabs. I'll torpedo those two.

Bat-hooks out.

[grunting]

[Robin] Look out, Batman.

[laughing]

[Batgirl] About time you two got here.

What's this movie caper about?

The Joker's not making a movie.
The cameras are empty.

I saw a map on the set

and it shows a treasure buried
on the island by a Captain Krink.

There's no Captain Krink in Treasure Island.

But there was a gangster
named Big Arnie

who pulled a $10 million heist
from Krink's Armored Car Service.

He buried the loot and left a map
of its whereabouts before he died.

Great. So, what do we do now?

We are prisoners,
and Joker took our utility belts.

But The Joker didn't take this away
from me.

[Robin] A hairpin?

- What good is that?
- Watch.

Beautiful. Let's go lower the boom
on Long John Joker.

- I've had enough.
- This is murder.

Mutinous dogs. Dig until I tell you to stop.

If the loot's not here, move to a new spot.

The Joker must be around here somewhere.

[Batgirl] Help!

[both laughing]

[Batgirl] Very funny.
But I landed on something hard.

[Robin] Holy pieces of eight. A chest.

We've found Big Arnie's loot.

Dig, men, dig. We'll all be rich.

Guess The Joker's crew
got discouraged

- just a few inches away from finding it.
- [Batman] Easy, now.

Holy smokes.

My goodness.

Are you kidding, Batman? That's merely millions.

Just bear with my spendthrift ways
while we change The Joker's script.

- But why?
- You'll see, chum.

Go draw The Joker and his buccaneers
away for a while.

Okay.

Yo-ho-ho! And The Joker's a creep.

The Boy Wonder. After him.

[suspenseful music playing]

- Here's the Bat-lung. You know what to do?
- Of course. See you later.

[ominous music playing]

That's the Boy Wonder's last cliffhanger. [laughs]

Back to the digs, me boyos.

Look, the chest. We've found it. [laughs]

They've taken the bait. To the Batboat.

- How did it go?
- Great. Hang on.

Now to open the chest and get the goodies.

Batboat to starboard!

[Joker] The blasted dynamic dodoes.

- Batgirl.
- Shiver your timbers, and raise your hands, Joker.

[heroic music playing]

Unlimber the cannon.

- They're firing a cannon.
- Stand by for evasive action.

Joker's slowed them down.
I'll help them catch up.

[Joker] Avast, ye lubbers!

[heroic music playing]

I must escape. Aah!

[Robin] Looks like Long John Joker's
struck his colors.

[Joker] You won, Batman.
But the loot, where is it?

Gone with the island winds, Joker.

But that was a fortune in greenbacks.

And all counterfeit.

The Krink's car that Big Arnie heisted
was a decoy.

And left the map for suckers?

[laughing]

What's that hyena laughing at now?

[Joker] Just this, Batgirl.

You can't jail me for looking
for phony money I never really found.

No, but the laugh's on you.

I'm locking you up for making a movie
without a permit.

What? You can't do that to me.

[all laughing]
