But when the coral
gets stressed,

it expels zooxanthellae,

the tissue that gives the coral
its bright color,

and it causes it to bleach,

which disrupts
the entire ecosystem

and sets off a chain of events

that affects everything,
including you and me.

Which is why
it is so important for us

to protect our oceans

and the aquatic beings
that call it home.
