one old man, perhaps, who remembers

He is the last of the Apache chiefs.

And he still comes to Sacred Mountain to sit

in the sun and talk about the last struggles

of the Apache and the white man.

The Indians never wrote history, they told it.

The old told it to the young, tales of bravery,

tales of glory and this strange tale of the Apache struggle

for survival in a white man's world.
