The war in Ukraine demilitarized russia's
military potential not for decades, but forever.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu reported
on January 20, 2022 that the share of modern

weapons in the Russian troops is 71%!

But after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine,
we saw that the Russian army consisted mostly

of old Soviet equipment that had been modernized,
but not entirely new, modern equipment.

By late spring, this potential had already
been exhausted, and T-62 tanks, not produced

since 1975, began to appear in the combat
zone, and now D-1 howitzers from the World

War II era are in use.

The production of new and truly modern equipment
in Russia is technically and technologically

impossible, and every year this situation
has been getting worse and worse.

It was obvious that Russia was very bad with
tanks, to take them as an example.

Tanks are something that Russia has always
been so proud of and always seemed to have

even more than enough of, but in fact it does
not.

And it is this trigger that will help best
describe how deep the overall crisis in the

Russian military-industrial complex is.

Since 2011 Russia has not produced a single
new tank.

Not a single one.

But every year the Russian command reports
on deliveries of brand new tanks to the troops.

Where did the Russian Defense Ministry report
new tanks every year if they were not new,

but upgraded tanks?

Exactly, the old Soviet models were taken
and underwent some kind of modernization,

and sometimes one and the same tank was modernized
several times.

According to various sources as of February
23, 2022 there were from 2,800 to 3,300 combat-ready

tanks of various modifications in the Russian
troops.

In the last three years alone, the Russian
Army has received more than 850 tanks, i.e.,

more than a third of its 2022 capability.

But at the same time, the average number of
combat-ready tanks in the Russian forces was

the same from year to year.

And all because there was a banal cycle of
technology.

It was the modernization of tanks that had
been in service for a long time or had been

removed from preservation, rather than the
production of new ones.

But on paper, it was the production of modern
equipment, prototypes that were always proudly

shown to Putin at parades in Moscow.

But in fact about 90% of all funds were stolen.

At the same time there was no really important
modernization.

For example, not a single piece of equipment
with active defense systems was involved in

combat operations in Ukraine.

Barbecue on the tower of the tank - this is
modern Russian technology, strict and cheap,

but not working.

Russia has already been set back in terms
of rebuilding its combat capability not by

decades...

It has been set back forever.

It is not even capable of resuming tank production,
especially in the numbers it will need to

restore lost capabilities.

Meanwhile, the process of demilitarization
of Russia is still continuing, worsening its

situation further.
