and belief.

Would even so, I suppose
the judge is wonderin'

why I didn't cross-examine?

Probably looks to him
like I'm lazy,

or that I'm takin' money from
my client under false pretenses.

Well, maybe I am.

But I got an idea
that five truths

don't always add up
to make one single big truth.

You know,
when I was a youngster,

learnin' my three rs,
I found out

that three apples and

and two oranges, didn't.

And I think,
that's what we got here.

my friend, the district attorney

of doin' this deliberately.

He's tryin' to the best

to seek out

and bring to judgement

the murderer of verna Carlson.
