Habit four is building rather than leveraging relationships.

Women are great, often at building relationships, they build broad networks and they build deep networks.

So why doesn't this benefit them more?

It's because women are often reluctant to leverage the relationships that they have, that is, engage

people who are in their network, people who are supportive, people who like them in helping them achieve

objectives either in their job or in their career.

When I ask women why they're reluctant to do this, they usually say that they want to make sure people

understand that they really value them as friends.

They don't want to appear like a user.

They don't want to be too transactional.

But it's really important to be able to engage people as you move forward to help you.

You offer them help in return.

That reciprocity will be good for both of you.
