Women statistically have a different view of the word ambition than men.

For men, ambition is almost always a universal positive.

For women, the word ambition is not always a universal positive.

It can stand for greediness and selfishness and a bunch of other stuff.

If you write a book for men and say, if you do this, you'll be powerful and rich for most men.

OK, that sounds good for me, Shrader.

But for women say you do this, you are powerful and rich.

They actually may be offended.

So the way we dealt with the book is this.

We said, look, there aren't that many women at high levels in organizational life that we looked at

the numbers of Fortune 500 tiny number.

And by the way, let's say Goldman Sachs, they've heard exactly the same number of women as men, entry

level position now for 30 years on the assumption that within 30 years you'd have as many women as men

at the top.

No, they don't for a variety of reasons, but they don't.

So we said in the book, we're not telling you you need to get ahead in some company or organization

or anything else if you don't want to.

It's OK.

This is not a judgmental value statement here.

We are saying is this.

If you do want to get advance in an organization, you don't want to influence the world, you need

power.

The definition of powers influence potential.

If you have no power, you're not going to influence much.

That's life.

And you can be a good person, do whatever you want to do.

And we're not saying you should or shouldn't want to do it.

The reality is power's influence potential.

That's the definition of power.
