‫How good are your leadership skills in our course?
‫The top five leadership behaviors, we cover five very critical behaviors or competencies that every
‫leader in every industry must exhibit communicates, meaning genuine caring about people, external
‫focus, awareness of the big picture and honest communication.
‫There are, of course, many other competencies that leaders need to become skilled at.
‫What are they?
‫Well, here are 14 other competencies to consider strategic thinking, business development, strategic
‫networking, fiscal responsibility.
‫Compliance management, risk management, creativity and innovation, organizational development, flexibility,
‫integrity, judgment, respect, influencing and negotiating conflict management.
‫And of course, there are many more to get your brain going.
‫There is a downloadable leadership competency assessment and the resources area for this first section.
‫It explains each of these competencies and allows you to rank your skill level from a one to a five,
‫which is the high end.
‫Take a few minutes to go through the exercise.
‫And of course, we encourage you to have a trusted colleague, Rinku, as well.
‫At the end of the assessment, the form will automatically give you an average rating if you follow
‫the instructions in the total ratings summary box.
‫This will give you a great starting point and you can take this assessment over and over as you gain
‫more skills and your leadership development throughout the course, you will complete exercises that
‫will help you strengthen your own skills.
‫Some of the exercises will be for the business owner or top leader, and some will be for the leader
‫manager.
‫But even if you don't fit into any of those categories, you can complete the exercises using your colleagues
‫as your team, pick the exercises most appropriate to your role.
‫Be sure to check the downloadable resource section for each section.
‫At the end.
‫We have recommendations for additional external resources that you can use to continue to strengthen
‫your leadership skills.
‫So let's get started.
