Let's face it, leadership is a complicated concept, just like this maze of highways and bridges,

there are many paths to becoming a good leader.

So look at it this way.

When you have to get to a place you've never been like a new restaurant way across town, if you're

like me, you want to see the whole route and you want to see the step by step breakdown of the route.

Welcome to our Roadmap to Leadership.

Course, the purpose of this course is to give you a breakdown or a roadmap of this whole leadership

concept so you can understand exactly where and when you need to turn hand in which direction to get

to the destination of becoming an effective leader within an organization.

This course shows you a variety of practical approaches you can master to lead your team to great achievements.

When you have completed this course, you will have a fundamental understanding of leadership and the

benefits of effective leadership within organizations.

You'll be able to discuss the key elements of strong leaders, and you'll understand the three main

theories of whether leaders are born or made.

By reviewing the traits approach, the behaviors approach and the situational approach will compare

leadership versus management so that you know the difference between the two and the contributions made

by each of them to an organization.

You will learn about leadership styles by studying the seven most well defined leadership styles, including

the strengths and weaknesses of each style.

Then we'll move into studying the team and learning about the two main theories about work, motivation

and how these theories impact.

Your leadership style will also discuss your team's state of readiness to follow your lead and how their

competencies and level of commitment will determine which leadership style you adopt.

To do this, it's important that you learn how to manage expectations and address conflict.

So we'll learn about the four stages of conflict and four approaches to take to address and resolve

the conflict.

By the end of this course, you'll also know when lateral leadership needs to be used.

And I'll give you a five step process to follow that will help you be successful in these specific situations.

And our final lecture will be all about the fall of the leader, what that looks like in terms of real

life examples and what the impact of failed leadership has on a team or organization.

And throughout the course, you'll complete exercises that will help you strengthen your own skills.

Some of the exercises will be for the business owner or top leader, and some will be for the leader

manager.

You can complete the exercises using your colleagues as your team, pick the exercises most appropriate

to your role.
