I can't think of any harder fight.

Of course,
I'm talking about this past June.

We gained something
in the fight against ANPO.

Who fought against that treaty?
Not only labor organizations and student

supported our action of June 15th.

The professors vvere concerned about
the students' safety and visited the site.

I was Wounded by
police violence myself.

It took me two Weeks to recover.

As you can see,
this popular movement has closed

the invisible fissure that existed
between the students and the professors,

which once put us at
odds on every issue.

Now this lamentable barrier
no longer separates us.

As if to symbolize the change,
this young man Nozavva approached me.

Nozavva used to pick fights with me
in his college days.

Now he suddenly asked me to act
as go-between for his wedding.

The two of us reflected on
the student movement ofthe past,

We came to share a common view

15 years of repeated mistakes.
