They look a little bit more relaxed today, no?

But we're thrilled to be with you again,

You know what, we have so many millions of fans to thank.

Very nice.It's been a while--

I haven't seen you guysin such a long time.

You've been out and about in the public again,

And it's been airing.How has it been?

It's weird.

Why is it weird?

Because our lives haven't changed as far as our jobs,

When you're walking around doing your normal routine,

It's like, people just stop you.

I want to know, simone, how's it been for you?

You left us a little bit on the earlier side.

I did, i left early.

It's been good,actually.

Kit and iwere in the airport

And there was a group of kids

That were all flying together,

And they rushed up to us�and were like,

"We want your picture!"

Yeah, i get a lot of emails from, like...

Eight-Year-Old little girls.

And they send me, like, scans of their illustrations

And they ask me for my advice,and it's--

The coolest part is to be a positive inspiration--

Absolutely

You know, young kids who want to design.

These little girls that come up and they recognize me,

That's amazing,

Because they're just like,

"You gave me such hope that, like,

"It's okay if i think differently, and it's okay

If i don't do things the way everybody else does."

That part's really awesome.

My favorite part is when celebrities accost me.

What?
Who's accosted you, sweet p?

Jack black said��i was his favorite.

Um, catherine keener.

Like, brad pitt was in the vicinity,

And i was like, "brad pitt's right there.

"Why does anyone care that i'm here?"

And they were like,"they want to meet you."

And i'm like, "are you kidding?"

I loved it.

Victorya, i want to know how it's been for you.

Yes.

And that wasyour first fashion show, yeah?

And how was that?

Um, a lot of work.

Um, but the turnout was great.

And i've gotten some write-Ups.

That's a wonderful achievement.

What i would like to know
from you guys,when you first came,

And you all met each other,

Who did you think would be showing at fashion week?

I thought carmen right off the bat.

You're so sweet, marion. Thank you.

I was actually impressed by everyone, like,

To be honest. I thought everyone was really good.

Steve, who did you think was really, really good?

I remember during that very first challenge

Watching rami play with that gray fabric

For four or five hours straight,

And never picking up his scissors.

And just thinking to myself,"jesus, that kid is screwed."

And then all of a sudden,i turned around

And i'm like,"you have got to be kidding me."

Just, where did you pull this out of?

I was really blown away by him straight off the bat.

I want to cut to the chase now.

Great.
Go for it.

And bring out our finalists.

Yay.

Okay, our first designer was the winner
of the final challenge of the season.

Our young prodigy, christian siriano.

Oh, my god,he's faking it.

How long did you spend on your hair today?

Uh, i don't know.I did it like four times.

It's fierce.

Our next finalist represents the women in fashion.

Jillian lewis.

I missed you all.

Look how cute you are.

Our third designer,draping master

Our last designer is known for his dramatic flair

And his over-The-Top personality and designs.

Welcome. Did you miss everybody?

Yeah.

This year on project runway,

The judges were gridlocked in their deliberation

About who would move forward to fashion week,

???In any previous season.

Let's take a look.

Designers,

This was a difficult decision.

Only one of you will move on to compete at fashion week.

Chris...

You're in.

Rami...

You're also in.

What?

We're going to give you both an opportunity

Now, don't get too excited.

Because only one of you

Will make it there.

When you return to new york for fashion week,

You will show us your three strongest looks.

We will determine which one of you

Will move on to compete at fashion week

And which one will be out.

We're both in.

Really?
Are you [bleep]ing me?

But they will choose one of us
after we do the collection.

Congrats to you too.

How did you guys feel?

It still chokes me up to even think about it.

Because when you said that i was in,

I was just, like, in total, absolute, mortified shock.

And then when you said rami was in, i was like,

"Oh, they're not doing this."

You caught me off guard.

But it kind of brought us closer together.

Because we kind of,like, knew

That we had the same battle ahead of us.

So rami and chris,
how are you each feeling about your collections?

I love my collection.

I think it's, uh... what is it?

It's a little, maybe a little kooky.

Um, not too much though.

And whether or not it ends up being in the finals,

I'm really thrilled with it.

Rami?

I'm very proud of what i've done.

I feel very strongly about it--

I could only be hopeful that it
will impress the judges in the end.

That i will get to speak my voice as a designer.

What would it mean to you
to go to fashion week, chris?

It would mean having
beaten him, for one thing.

And it's the world stage of fashion.

I mean, it's the super bowl.

It is.

I would just, like, like--

Well, there's another person sitting right here

Who we all had high hopes for.

You know, we thought was gonna
maybe make it to the finale.

But due to health issues,didn't.

Let's see what happened.

Oh, god.

I had what i thought
was, like, a pimple in the inside of my nose.

It's getting progressively worse.

I have had skin staph infections twice before,

And i'm kind of concerned.

Are you hurting?

I'm not hurting, i'm just...

The treatment is really hard core.

And i'm afraid i'll have to leave and--To do it.

Jack definitely looks a little swollen.

It's kind of scary, you know?

Hey, dr. Bowen.

Basically what's going on is i am almost--

You know, i'm 95% sure i have a mrsa in my face again.

For me it is important for people to know

That i've been hiv positive for 17 years,

But my immune system's not suppressed at all.

So it wasn't about that.

Anyone can get what i got.

It's a dangerous bacteria.

Obviously i have some health issues going on.

It's certainly not the way i wanted to go out,

But i think i have to go to the hospital.

I think i need to leave the show.

We have to support your getting better.

I know.

That was probably one of the hardest
decisions i've ever made in my life.

It was absolutely heartbreaking.

Jack and i just had a discussion.

And i just want jack to share it with you.

Well, you all know i've had this infection in my face.

I'm just concerned about getting better.

I had so much fun.

I certainly don't want to leave like this,

But i just don't feel comfortable being here anymore.

Jack's made the decision to leave.

It was so nice to meet all of you.

I had the best time of my life.Literally.

It's such an honor.

I'm crying now. Are there tissues?

Jack, we all of course
want to know how you feel now.

Um, it was very serious
and i made the right decision.

But, you know,shortly thereafter i was fine.

But you were in the hospital what, for a week?

Yeah, i was in the hospital for five days.

It's very serious.

As quickly as it came, it kind of healed itself.

But, you know,it was--It's very emotional for me.

Christian, how did--How did that affect all of you?

I just felt really close to jack.

Having just worked in a team challenge with him

Where we had such a great time,

It just, like, it hit us like a big storm.

And it was sad,but...

I'm glad i get to see you now.

Victorya, you were very upset also.

And a little angry.

I'd say i was upset.

I don't--I'd say upset is probably the, um,

Key operative word for me in regards to that situation.

Victorya's always a bit uptight, no?

Or is it just me?

No, it's not just you.

Do you think about coming back for next season?

I get asked that all the time.

So--Actually,the top questions i get are

"Is tim that nice," "is heidi that pretty,"

And "are you coming back next season?"

I swear to god,that's what everyone asks.

I want to know all three answers to all three questions.

Yes, yes, i don't know.

All right.

The next question is from maurice.

This was actually texted to us to
the project runway mobile fan club.

And he asks,

"Kevin, are you sure you're not gay?"

Well, um...

I've been hanging out with jack a lot.

I've probably been in every gay bar in the city.

But no, no. I live with my girlfriend.
Everything's kind of cool there.

I don't know about this.Are you convinced?

Not entirely.

Because we have so much great footage
that we have to look at right now.

Oh, my god,
here we go.

I have plenty of quote-Unquote "girlfriends" now.

(Girlfriend)kevin, what are you trying to say?

But of my--No, no, you don't--
Like, it's of different gender.

I mean, the same gender.

I don't really like clothes.

Every morning, jack's running to the bathroom

In his underwear, freezing his ass off,

I'm--I'm trying so hard on this show

It was too fruity.

Like, i would not like my husband walking around like that.

If i had to make an outfit for seal,

You know one question i get asked most of the time?

What's that?

Is it really as grueling as it appears on tv?

Yes.

It's way worse.

It's a tranny mess.

I had way too many bad--

Christian, tell everybody how it really is.

We work so much.

And we eat chinese food.And, i mean, girlfriend,

That is not cute for everyone.

I mean...phew!

(Jack)i thought it kind of was the best diet ever.

Like, i lost, like,ten pounds in a week.

I lost so much weight--
Yeah, i have a very great quote from kit.

"My boyfriend put a woman on the plane

And he's gonna get back a 13-Year-Old boy."

When women lose weight,that first ten pounds,

Chris, how was it for you?

The weird thing to me was,
you know,being a big fan of the show for so long,

It's like all of a sudden, the first day,

There's tim, heidi,runway, sew something everything.

It's like...

I'm--I'm onthe project runway

That i've watched for three seasons.

You don't have time to stop and think about it.

You just keep going and going and going

And then it's all a big blur.

Mm-Hmm.

I know that the long hours and the lack of sleep

Made all of you feel as though
you were living in a different world.

Maybe even a different planet.

And there was
one of you about whom it was speculated

May be from another planet,owing to
your unconventional methods.

Let's take a look.

Elisa is a very intriguing person.

Oh, it's already wet.

I know. Just did a spit mark.

What do you mean? You spit on it?

Yeah.

What is going on?

Sometimes i spit mark it,
which seems to be really disturbing to--

Beep, beep, beep, beep.

Okay, got it.And then you go--

And then you go,"okay, great."

Then you sit down and you sew the seam,you sew the seam,

You pull it up and it's a pinata.

Or you pull it up, and it's a couture dress.

What planet are you from?

I'm coming to your planet, but with gifts.

I know in this context of project runway,

They really see me as someone from another planet.

I had a dream last night
that i got dropped in a--In a-- On an alien planet.

They were cannibalistic,uh, humanoids.

Elisa...she's just cuckoo.

She writes backwards in her journal.

She's like mork from mork & mindy.

Boop! Like, a little, like--

That's a technical term.

My brain is going "ch-Ch-Ch-Ch."

Elisa is on some happy planet in the galaxy--

I'm not sure of the name.

I know that no one gets what i do.

But that doesn't make what i do not good.

So when you're marking the fabric,

I do write backwards.

My idol when i was about 18 was leonardo da vinci.

And so i decided to start teaching myself to write backwards

So that i could come up with my writing
and my poetry that wasn't so conscious.

And then it just became,
like,a thing that was fun to do.

What is it spelled?

Well, i can tell you this is
"tickpock yawnur" instead of "runway."

It's "yawnur."

On that note, we have another question

"Designers, what has been
your favorite challenge this season?"

(Kevin)weight loss.

Kevin, why was your weight loss one the favorite?

Those ladies were great.I mean, trans-- Transforming

The whole clothing situation on their bodies,

Making them feel good,

It was really--It was amazing.

And christian?

I liked the avant-Garde challenge.

And i liked the last challenge a lot.

'Cause it was so inspiring.

Me too.

Well, whether it was a fun challenge
or a difficult challenge,

The stress and pressure took its toll on one of you.

I'm an emotional person, yes. But...

I don't cry all that much.

Can you kind of just tell me your--Your full name,
and your age,and where you currently live?

I'm very emotional, but i can control it.

I love the hair too, and the makeup.

This is like a roller coaster.

I felt like i sucked.

I just--I feel like i suck.

Has a very obvious question for you.

Why do i cry so much?

I'm not gonna cry.

(Kit)it'd be really good tv, though.

This whole experience
was really emotional for me.

I was discovering who i was as a designer.

You know, i didn't realize i was gonna cry like a woman.

At some point, i think all of us cried on the show.

At the end of the day,

I-I really don't care what people say,

'Cause, you know, so what.I cry.

I commend you,ricky.

I mean, it's nice to be able to show your emotions that easily,

I don't think there's anything negative about it.

I think it's a--I see beauty in it.

I just have to say, though,

I was so thrilled for you when you won,

And you even turned that into a crying jag.

"Designers, are any of you upset about anything
you saw or heard others say about you on the show?"

Yes. Yes. Yes.

It was very hurtful. After the challenge, i felt that

I wasn't missed at all.

Sweet p said, "well, i'm just glad it wasn't me."

And then the other comment was that kit said is,

"Even if she did finish,
he outfit just wasn't good enough."

And that was very hard for me.

'Cause it means a lot to me what you guys...

You know.
(Kit)oh, it was not...

You know, it was hard.It was hard.

You know?
(Kit)and you have to know

That you were dearly missed,
and it was so hard to have a vacancy.

I mean, especially for jillian.
We didn't expect you to go that soon either.

We were just, like, enjoying your presence.

And that was the first, like,
confusing thing to happen.

Like, we were all getting close,
and then all of a sudden,

You didn't come home with us that night.

And i really missed you
and i know that they missed you too.

And they expressed that to me.

I also think that we know
the state of duress that we were all under.

And so i give everyone,like, some license.

I think it's fair to say
that regardless of what was said,

Most of you had a very good sense of humor about it all,

And were able to laugh it off.

And one of you was able to laugh it off...

Hey, guys.

As you all know,

Heidi and nina and michael have judged
a lot of challenges over the last four seasons.

But this season,there was one challenge
that broke the poker-Faced veneers of our judges.

Let's have a look.

(Michael)oh, by.

(Chris)we were all thinking, what are the judges
going to say for this challenge?

What is nina garcia gonna say
about a pink spandex outfit with rhinestones on it?

When ricky's model came out,

She was very over the top.

At the end of her last pose,she did,
like, a super sexy move.

Michael kors just lost it.

It was contagious. Like, i started laughing.

And michael kors could just not stop.

It was like a kid in church.

It was like one too many ridiculous things
in this kind of ridiculous runway show.

Michael is losing it.

I've lost my voice!

I'm trying to be so poker.

Okay.All right.

I'm good.

The laughter, i think we all agree,
was probably one of our classic moments being here.

It was really...unexpected
to see michael kors crack like that.

The whole thing,i just thought,
was so hysterically funny--I don't know.

(Nina)it was a fun challenge, though.

Totally.

But i-I-I've never cracked up.

This is the first time.

Well, while the judges
had a difficult time with this challenge,

You all sought inspiration from it.

Tapped into your own personal divas.

And we're going to have a look at that.

(Chris)the wwe divas were pretty tough.

But i think that the designers have a really good
chance of winning in a good old-Fashioned catfight.

My wrestling name is ferocia coutura.

My signature move is hairspray in the eyes

And then i pull a really tight braided
ponytail and make the girls bleed.

My diva name would be tuffie.

My signature move would be a pirouette into a kick,

And i would kick someone right in the face.

I would kick the [bleep] out of all of those girls.

If i was a wrestler, i'd have to be wonder woman.

I suppose my signature move would have to be
smothering people with my large breasts.

I would be ramilicious.

My signature move
would include a draped piece of fabric

That's wrapped around my arms.

Where i confuse the person
i am fighting with to mislead them,

And i run around them anhekickk,m in t bac
and pin them to the ground.

My wrestling name is spread eagle.

My move is to get people
in a headlock with my thighs and break their neck.

If i was a wrestler, i'd probably call myself,

Like, the mexican jumping bean.

My signature move...

It would be a little twirl with a kick.

(Tim)oh, that's great.

Yeah.

Who do you think is the toughest judge?

Heidi, this season,you were pretty tough.

You're pretty tough this season.

So you guys think she's gotten tougher?

I don't think of myself like that.

But i just really say
what i think.

(Tim) i think it corresponds to the level of talent.

That it's raised the whole level of conversation.

I'm just glad that there's more bad cops this season.

Someone came up to me and they're like,

"You're 'mean-A garzilla.'"

And i was like--

That's your wrestling name!

Yeah, that's the wrestling name!

Maybe the reason that you guys
think i am tough sometimes

Is because i try to judge
you guys to what i am seeing out in the market.

That is my job.

But ultimately,real fashion people,

They understand that every designer's different.

They want you to be your best.

I was up there the most, i think.

But all the information that was given,

Shown or not shown,it was worth it.

Michael, we have a question for you.
Sure.

And it's from victoria.She asks,

"Heidi introduces michael as a top american designer.

"But i've never seen him wear anything

"But a plain black t-Shirt, black blazer,and blue jeans."

I can't even imagine how easy it
must be to get ready in the morning.

That's the point.

You got the point.I mean, i have to say...

That you guys would absolutely die
if you saw a picture of me at 18.

I was the most trendy,victim-Iest--

You--You cannot even imagine.
20 pairs of leg warmers,hair down to here.

Hats with jewels. Wrap belts.

I wore shawls, diaper pants.

I did--You name it, man.

I did it.Okay?

And then when i started working, i was like,

"I don't want to think about what i'm wearing."

You know, with one extra pair of pants,

One white shirt, one black turtleneck,

I could to to the white house,
and i could go to like a rave.

But on the other side of the coin,i have to say,

I would never give up

The idea of being young and ridiculous in fashion.

I loved it. Um, so, you know,

I say go for it.But that's why i stick to my guns.

As you know, in fashion, one day you're in,

And the next day,you're out.

One day you're in,

I think heidi's great. She's very honest.

I'm like, okay,now we just need the denim hat.

It looks schlumpy.You've put too much on your plate.

You were really hungry,
shoved it all on there,and couldn't eat it.

Well, of course my favorite judge has to be heidi klum.

Because she is german, like me.

I've been dangling the sausage
in front of your noses all the time--

Now it's going to fashion week.

I have a problem for words sometimes.

You know?

Sometimes i'm gasping for the right word.

It takes a long time until i get to the point.

But you get there.

But eventually i get there,i hope.

"Judges, this season,who had the worst single design?"

Ooh! Oh, ouch.
That's mean. Ouch.

I know the hardest challenge.
The hardest challenge was the men's.

Men's, hands down. Hands down.

Trying to make men's clothes
look slick and professional?

In that much time?

We weren't riveted to any of them,quite frankly.

Yeah, we saw jackets with no shirts under.

It was really--Thrown together.
Thank you, heidi.

But they were all--
They were all--All very difficult.

What about the best design or the best challenge?

My favorite was the hair challenge.
Yeah, mine too.

First off, i think that the quality of work
that came out was really spectacular.

And then, although i'm sure you guys were ready
to slit your wrists

When you heard that you had to do the second version,

I thought that was the greatest thing in the world.

Because it really showed,as a designer,

How are you gonna turn all of this into a business?

And it was a great collaboration
between chris and christian.

I mean, they worked great together.

And it looked effortless.
Yeah.

Which one do you guys think
was the worst design?

Maybe my wrestler challenge.

Mine.

I think that would be the worst.

They're all like, "yeah, you're right."

Next question is for tim. From jen.

"In this season,the judges often seem to go
in a different direction than you might.

"Do you ever make your opinions known
to the judges outside of 'tim's take'?"

No, i don't.

Um, and i have to say,

I know what happens in the workroom.

I know where you've been
and where you end up with each challenge,

And i'm nothing if not encumbered by that.

Which is why i wouldn't be a good judge.

Because i couldn't truly be objective

The way that the three of you really can be.

For as much as we would want
to find out what's happening--

I don't want to know.
In the workroom,

It's better that we don't know,

Because we really are judging you without any...

You know,information whatsoever.

What do you guys write on the cards?

Like, is there like a number system?

We have a number system, yeah.

The scores are from one to five,
five being the highest score.

I see you, like, write, like, words, like,

"Oh, my god" or "horrible" or something.

Rami, do you have some advice
to future project runway designers?

I would say to anybody who's
considering doing the show,

It's not as easy as you think.

But i think one thing for sure,

It's not just to be seen.

I really think you really need to love what you do,

And have a passion for what you do.

Can i add, though,

That it's-- In addition to the work
that you produce, and how that's judged and evaluated,

It's also your qualities of character are being judged
and evaluated in terms of how you handle situations.

I think for probably all of us,

It's a difference of being who we are on--On television,

And then going out
in the real world and being who we are for real.

What does that mean?

What we do here doesn't necessarily apply
to who we are and what we do in the real world.

Did the rest of you feel the same thing?

Like you weren't being real on the show?

We are being ourselves,

But it's under a different environment.

It's under different constraints.

You are putting all these creative people together.

You're putting them in a petri dish.

They're isolated.

They're working under unusual circumstances.

And then they're asked to produce amazing things.

And that's something that i think that people

Coming into the show need to be prepared for.

People who haven't gone through the process,

They have no idea.

Then i think that's a really great leap.

from the first challenge to what he's done.
