All language subtitles for 2. Google maps

Google is an amazing tool for ocean work and doing your reconnaissance.

Not only could you do all sorts of searches on it and custom searches using the Google operators, Google

Maps and Streetview is actually a really cool tool when you think about it.

So say we're doing a attack vector, we're going to physically try to get into a building now.

The best way to do that is you want to do your reconnaissance.

Driving up to the building ahead of time and looking around may not work right.

It may raise some flags before you even, you know, go ahead with your physical penetration tests.

So that's what things like Google, Street View and Satellite View come in real handy.

So let's take a look at this tech and type in Japantown, San Francisco.

For example.

So I'm just at Google.com for such maps.

OK, so now we have the we have the maps up here.

So let's say I wanted to go in here.

OK.

And we can actually just kind of zoom in here.

And we could try to change this to.

Street View, and you could do that by dragging this little guy over here.

And we could just drop it here and report to Street View.

OK, now.

Great thing about this is so, so this is a street view and say, I'm, you know, I'm going to break

into this general area here.

So having a street view is pretty handy because I could do things like I can kind of look around for

cameras here, so I don't see any cameras under here under the awning, around the front door and whatnot.

I can also see where my entry points might be.

For example, like it's, you know, potentially stand over here with binoculars over by this fence

and peek over here to kind of do some reconnaissance.

I can look over here and try to find again if my is how many doors we have, what type of doors they

have.

Well, it's a glass door and out.

OK, I see a door here.

And if you can zoom in close enough, you can see what type of lock it is.

OK, well, maybe I can get a shift knife in there and open that door or potentially go through this

great here and get it gain access.

Also, important things.

Or you could see, you know, how much traffic is going to be through here.

That looks like a pretty main road.

So doing something like popping this open without, you know, the proper.

You know, cover, I'm probably going to get caught.

Other things I might be looking for or worse, a dumpster.

Where is the dumpsters located?

Now, if we do a satellite view, let's see if we can get to.

So if we could pull the a satellite view of this place here.

And if we click the button down here, a satellite.

Again, we kind of do the same thing.

We're kind of screwing around here.

We're getting an idea of what the actual layout is of this place.

Things like where the sports dumpsters, entries, exits.

Cameras, if you can see any cameras, is there a skylight, is there other entry points up there?

Potentially, you can look at, you know, what type of each vac unit do they have?

Maybe you're going to pose as a H-back repairman.

They can come in handy.

You could do things like, oh, you know, what type of dumpsters do they have?

That way, you could pose as a, you know, the waste disposal company.

See if I could scroll in there.

There are all sorts of handy things with Google Maps and Google Street View.

So keep this in mind when you're doing your reconnaissance, if you're doing a physical penetration

test on a building, even if you're not doing physical penetration to certain things like that could

help you if you're going to call and do social engineering.

Go, Hey, this is it company x y z.

You know, I need to get the serial number off your dumpster, by the way.

Hey, do you mind if we get some information about this or, Hey, this is a security company?

We're running your cameras.

There is a firmware update.

Could you please install this on your computer in order for the cameras to work, continue to function

properly, things like that.

So this was Google Street View Inc Google satellite.

So definitely again, keep this in mind part of the Google arsenal they could use when you're doing

a penetration test for ethical hacking.
