a British colonial ship

loaded up with Spanish gold

prisoners of war.

In 1780, it ran aground

in the East River and sank.

Now, some folks think
that the British

brought the gold ashore,
let the prisoners drown,

leaving a curse on the treasure.

Long story short, rumor is,

Goodrose found the treasure,
spent a single

gold coin, and then promptly
died of mysterious causes.

So maybe John and Harold
