All language subtitles for 3. How To Report Copyright Infringement

In this lesson, you learn how to report copyright and trademark infringement.

Unfortunately, when you're in the practice space, your designs at some point will get stolen when

they start ranking.

It's just the nature of the beast.

It will happen.

So what do you do if you're in merch by Amazon?

You can actually claim copyright infringement or trademark infringement via a form which I'm going to

show you now, where whether Amazon takes down the copyright design is based on how close the copy is,

whether it's P4P or pixel for pixel copy, whether it is a copy of the concept or whether it is a copy

of the quotes that you've invented, whether it's just inspiration.

These things can be subjective and that's what your claims won't be successful.

But we've had success with is when I've reported design that is copied pixel for pixel.

So it's access the copyright infringement form.

You need to go to Google and type claim copyright infringement, Amazon.

And then you click on this link right here.

So you need to go to form and you need to sign in.

You're going to need to tick.

Right.

Owner And the primary complaint pertains to if it's to do with copyright, then you're going to select

this first one here.

If it's to do with the trademark concern, you need to select the second option name of the brand.

You're going to put your name of brand here.

He have the option of a written description of the copyrighted work or a link to the copyrighted work.

I always put a link to the copyrighted work, which is a link of my design.

So make sure you put the link of your design here.

Live this blog if you don't have a copyright registration, but if you have a trademark and a copyright

registration, make sure you fill this one out in additional information.

I always put the grounds why I believe that that person has stolen or copied my design.

Just give them as much information as possible to help them make a decision, hopefully in your favor.

And here you're going to put the asen that you want to report a seller on Amazon.

Yes.

And then you fill out your details.

A first name, surname and address, phone number, email address, again, secondary contact details,

name and email address.

And then you're going to tick this box that you have read and accept the statements above and submit.

That's it.

Once you've submitted, they'll get back to you with an automated message saying, we've received your

claim form, etc. and usually it takes them about one working day to take down the design.

If your claim is successful, sometimes when you click submit, they'll send you an email asking for

further verification of your identity, i.e. the person who you claim you are.

Just follow the instructions and you'll be fine.

So what can you use this form for your browsing Amazon and then you suddenly see a copy of your design

that you don't recognize.

You don't think it's yours because the eighteen is not the same or the price is not the same, whatever

it is.

But the actual design is 100 percent the same.

And you know, you haven't uploaded it yourself.

But if somebody has just stolen the idea of your design, maybe the concept, maybe they've changed

a few bits and pieces, it doesn't look 100 percent the same.

You're going to have a hard time taking down that design, according to my experience.

Let's say you've made a quote and became a best seller.

Somebody saw it and they liked it and they basically copied the whole quote.

You don't stand the chance unless you trademark the whole quote.

There will not take down that design because you don't have proof that you own that quote.

If, however, that quote is 100 percent pixel for pixel copy of your design, they've copied your quote,

the whole design, the layout, the fonts, the colors, everything is one hundred percent pixel for

pixel copy of your design.

Then you do stand a chance with this form.

Can you use this form if somebody is copying your brand name title, bullet points or description?

No, you can't, because unfortunately Amazon lets people get away with them.

There's nothing you can do about it at the moment.

I know it's really annoying, but there's nothing we can do about it, at least for now.

Again, if your brand is trademarked, you can use this form to report trademark infringement.

So just follow the steps and you're good to go.
