All language subtitles for 5. How To Install A Theme

If you're interested in standing out and taking your website to a whole new level, then something you

should seriously consider is installing a theme onto your website.

Themes are essentially skins that you overlay onto your website to make it look more professional.

What I'm going to show you in this video, you'll be able to drastically improve how your website looks

without spending hundreds, if not thousands of dollars on an expensive Web developers and designers.

We can simply install a free theme and achieve the look we want very easily and very quickly.

The theme we're going to be using is one called Astro.

And the reason why we're going to be using Astra is because it has dozens of free designs to choose

from.

So how do we see what these designs are and how do we get them installed onto our website?

Well, the first thing we need to do is go back to our WordPress website and then go back to our dashboard.

And once you're here, what you want to do is go down to parents, click themes, and then once the

page loads, you want to scroll down to the bottom of the page and click add a new theme.

And what we want to do now is simply type in extra in the search box on the right and then simply go

ahead and find that Ashrafi, which is this one right here, and then click the button that says instore.

And once the theme has installed, you want to go ahead and click, activate and to get all the free

designs I was talking about, what you need to do is go over to plug ins and then click add new.

And then what you want to do is simply search for azure starter templates and then simply go ahead and

install this one right here by brainstorm force.

It should have tons of active installations.

You can see 341 reviews, 700000 installations.

So this is definitely the one you want to be installing.

Let's go ahead and click install now and then.

Once installed, we want to go ahead and click activate to see all the designs and the templates that

we can choose from.

What you need to do is scroll down to the bottom of the page, find the plug in we just installed,

which would start to templates and then click the button right here, which says C Library.

Once the page loads, you want to go ahead and click elemental and then from the top of the page, you

want to go ahead to the drop down menu and make sure you have free selected, this is now going to show

you all of the free world first themes so you don't have to pay a penny for any of these.

You can simply install onto your website and drastically change the look of the way your website appears

when it comes to choosing the right word for a screen for you.

You simply want to pick the one which best suits your business and best describes what you do.

So, for example, if you have an e-commerce website and it specializes in selling maybe organic products

like Butters creams skidmarks and maybe this would be a good thing for you, you can click any of these

feme to see what they look like.

So let's go ahead and click this one for organic store.

And then what we can do is click preview organic store and we can see exactly how the website would

look if you install this thing.

This one's actually quite nice, but I'm going to go back and find another one.

So if I go back to starter template and then I go back on this arrow again, you can scroll down and

you can see there's literally dozens and dozens of themes to choose from.

We've got a theme right here for musicians.

We can scroll down and see we have one for a restaurant, a yoga instructor.

There is literally tons and tons of themes that you can select from.

So for the purpose of this training video, I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go for this theme

right here.

Digital agency, as I believe a lot of people who are watching this course are going to want to go out

there and start their own digital marketing agency.

So let's go ahead and give digital agency a click.

And let's go to preview to see how the site would actually look like if we go for this theme, you can

see it looks very nice, clean and responsive and modern as well.

We've got our portfolio down there, customers.

We've got a meet our leadership team.

So I really like this theme.

So what I'm going to do is go ahead and store this onto our website.

So I'll go back to the main page.

And what you simply want to do is click this button right here, which says import complete sites.

So let's go ahead and give this a click and then you should get a little pop up box, which appears

like this, and you want to go ahead and click import.

Great.

So just like that, our theme has now imported successfully so we can go ahead and actually view our

website to see exactly what it looks like.

So, as you can see, this is our website and it looks pretty nice and clean.

It looks exactly like the preview which we just saw.

We can scroll down on our home page and see what else we have.

We've got these icons right here, design development.

So these can potentially be replaced by the services we offer.

We've got our portfolio, we've got our customers.

We've got me our leadership team, which is really nice as well.

Then we got the filter at the bottom of our website.

If we go to the top of the website, you can see we also already have our about page.

We've got services and we have a contact page already built for us when we imported the theme.

So let's go ahead and look at our about page to see how that looks.

And as you can see, it looks very nice again, very clean and responsive, which is exactly what we

wanted to see.

So now you're probably wondering, great.

The website looks amazing, but how do I actually go into the website and edit all the content to suit

my business?

That is very easy.

We need to do is go to the top of the website and click edit with Elemental.

And what that's going to do is it's going to open the back.

An editor of the website.

So let's imagine I want to edit some of the text we have on our homepage.

So let's go for this to create amazing business websites to edit this text or we need to do is give

it a click.

This is now going to open the text icon on the left hand side of the screen.

I'm going to simply go in there, delete that text and then replace it with whatever we would like.

So I'll go ahead and saying, I hope you are enjoying this cool smiley face is exactly the same process

for any text you see on the website.

For example, we can edit all of this X, go ahead and delete that and I'll put in making websites is

super easy like so deleting text is also very easy.

So let's imagine we want to delete this text right here.

Fastest and most lightweight word for having to delete that or we need to do is hover over the text,

wait for the little pencil icon to appear and simply right click and then go ahead and click delete.

That will now remove that text from the website.

We can also update the button on our website as well.

So to update the button or we need to do is give this a click.

This is now going to open all the buttons options we have on the left hand side of the screen.

So this is the text which is overlaid onto the button so we can go ahead and change that.

Let's go for contact us.

We can also change the colour of the button.

We need to go up to style to do that.

And then for background colour, you want to click this icon right here on the right hand side.

And then you can see we have tons of options to change our button colour.

I think for now I'll just leave mine how it was.

Actually, I think I'll go for why.

So it stands out and as the text is also why we can't actually see the text.

So I'm going to do is change the text colour as well, and I'm going to go for a dark colour so you

can see on the contrast like so and I want.

You're happy with that.

You can go ahead and click update.

However, before I do that, I want to show you a few more things as well.

Maybe you're not happy with the background image you have at the moment.

You can also change that very easily.

You just need to.

Right click anywhere over the image and then click edit section and then go over to style.

And there you can see we have the original image.

So let's go ahead and give that a click to update the image.

I'm going to upload a new image and I'll go for this one right here, which says background, wait for

that image to upload.

And then once our image has uploaded, you want to go ahead and click insert media and now you can see

our background image has updated.

It was really that simple.

So let's go ahead and click update to publish those changes alive on to our website.

And now let's have a look exactly how our website looks at the moment.

Let's go ahead and delete that and go back to our main home page.

And as you can see, it's looking pretty good.

The process I just showed you, this applies to every page on your website.

So if you want to edit the content on your about page, simply open your about page.

And then once the page is loaded, it's the same process.

Go edit with elements or this is now going to open the back end for this page where you can go into

that page and edit any of the content.

So if you have a logo, you can also upload that onto the site very easily.

We need to do is go to customize at the top and once the page has loaded, you want to go ahead and

click the pencil icon next to the logo.

This will now open or the logo options.

We have a logo for the transparent header and we have a logo for Rittner devices.

We only need one logo on our website.

So I'm going to go ahead.

And until this box and I, we just have one option for the logo to change the logo.

We just need to click change image right here and then you can go ahead and change that logo to anything

that you wish.

So I'll go for the Click Slice logo just for the training purposes of this video.

And as you can see, that logo has now updated.

We can change a logo with very easy using these toggle bars down below what size you go for.

All comes down to your preference, really.

But once you're happy with how the logo looks, you want to go ahead and click publish to push those

changes over onto your life website.

So let's go back to our home page now and take a look at the website with our new logo on it.

And as you can see, it looks very nice and clean.

So how about adding a new page to your website?

Well, that is also very straightforward.

What you need to do is go to New at the top and then click page.

And then what you want to do is pop in a name for your new page.

So I'll go ahead and put in video testimonials.

So let's just imagine this page is all about video testimonials from some of our clients.

Then why aren't you happy with the title of your page?

You want to go ahead and edit with elements?

This is going to open the element of backend, which is the backend we've been working on so far.

And as you can see, we have a blank page.

So let's go ahead and add in ahead in.

It's literally drag and drop.

You select what you want from the left hand side and drag it onto your website just like so.

So that is our headiness.

Go ahead and replace the text for video testimonials like so.

And once you're happy with the title of your page, you can go ahead and click this icon.

This will take you back to all of the widget so we can go ahead and add another one, such as a video

drag and drop.

This will now insert a placeholder video.

Replacing this video is also straightforward.

Simply click on the video and you can see we have a link on the left hand side.

So this is actually the link of this video from YouTube.

So we need to do is replace issue with whatever you are or the video you would like to have on your

website.

You can also go ahead back to the widgets and maybe add some text below that video just to describe

what the video is about.

Again, you can add as many widgets as you would like.

It's literally all drag and drop.

Once you're happy with the new page you created, you want to go ahead and click publish to push that

new page across onto your website.

So let's have a look at how the page looks.

And as you can see, the page looks very nice indeed.

So what about if you want to add this page to your menu at the top of your website?

To do that, you need to go to customize and then you want to go to menus.

And as you can see, we have a few different options.

We want to go for this option right here as it is currently the main menu, which is set on our website.

So let's go ahead and expand this.

And as you can see, it's now open the menu for our website.

We have home about services and contact, which is exactly what we have at the top of our website home

about services and content.

So to add a new item to this menu or we need to do is click add item.

And now what we need to do is find the page, which would like to add to the menu.

So this is a page we'd like to add video testimonials, the one we've just created.

Let's go ahead and click the plus icon that is now added that to our menu.

And we can see from the live preview on the right hand side like this has already been added to our

menu.

You can also rearrange your menu as well.

So maybe you like you're about to come first, maybe after services.

You will see this about when I'll move over there like so.

But typically s best practice to have your about page as a second page on your website.

So I'm going to go ahead and change that back.

I want you are happy with how your menu looks.

Simply go ahead and click publish.

And now if you go back to the home page of our website or any page on our website, you can see we now

have video testimonials right at the top in our menu.

So the last thing I want to show you is how you can edit the first of your website as a first appears

on every single page of your website to edit the photo.

You want to go to edit with Elemental.

You don't want to click the top icon.

You want to click the option below.

Which, says Fatta, this will now take you into a dedicated page where you can edit all of the details

you have in your photo.

And once again, it's exactly the same process.

You literally select the text and then replace it with whatever you like to have on your website.

This applies to the head ins at the top.

The logo is the same process.

Click, edit and then updates.

So as you can see, it's very easy to create your own website and actually edit all the content you

have on your website when you are using a theme.

Hopefully this open your eyes.

It just how powerful this actually is as we have made a very professional website and we haven't had

to hire any web developers, any web designers.

And most importantly, it hasn't cost us a penny.

Well, if you want to go to designer, you'd end up paying hundreds, if not thousands to get a website

like this built.
