you signed the waiver,

wouldn't get killed in jail.

The cops wouldn't listen.

They ain't no better than
the people who was beatin' me.

initially asked for the lawyer,

his reference to that
admission was ineffective.

And maybe it's high time someone
took the pruning shears to Miranda.

Mr. Stokes' confession
