of their own.

What was it about "alter ego"
that appealed to you

and made you want
to perform on the show?

It's been a long, long,
long journey for me to get here,
you know?

I tried music one way,

and it didn't work out
the way I wanted it to,

and this is my second shot
to have my voice heard

across the world,
across the universe.

I've always done r&b music,

but my alter ego allows me
to tap into the rock star

that I always knew I could be.

My name is anthony flammia,
and I'm from yonkers, new york.

I almost thought my time was up.

I had a record deal
from 2018 to 2019,
and it fell through.

I found out that green button,

the "boom your famous" button,
don't exist.

You gotta really connect
with people.

The record label,
they made sure I sang r&b music,

but I always wanted to sing
rock n' roll.

I grew up around it, always
heard my father singing it.

Now that I'm singing rock

it's a fresh new chance
to let people hear my voice.

My alter ego is loverboy.

It looks like he plays

What can we do to make him
turn into, like,

next generation's
real rock star,

The process of putting
that motion capture suit,

capturing all my movement,
it was amazing.

on who the person behind
the alter ego is,

but everyone at home is gonna
learn more about the person

who created
and has now become safara.

I'm a refinance loan specialist

I want to be able

to sing without being judged

on my appearance.

That's where I struggle
to be confident in myself.

So having an alter ego
just gives me that chance
to show my soul,

and show who I really am
on the inside.

I'm curious who they are,

but I really just want to know

and get to just believe
the character.

It's to introduce
our next alter ego.

It's wolfgang champagne.

What's up, wolfgang champagne?

But you can call me wolfie.

I might put you on the diamond
just for your name.

- I love the name.

forget the singing.

I'll go stand up there.

What does the name represent?

Well, I'm actually a werewolf.

I'm not a big werewolf.

I was, like, bitten by
a chihuahua about 500 years ago,

but I don't look a day over 350.

And so how long you been
singing though?

Oh, about 478 years I think.

'cause I started howling,
and then I went,

hey, I'm pretty good at this.

Aroo! And then I just
started singing.

What brought you
to "alter ego?"

"alter ego" seems to be a place
where everybody's welcome,

and there's not many places
like that in the world anymore.

I'm matthew lord,
and I'm a truck driver.

I am 60,
and I need an alter ego

because I was thinking
my life was winding down.

And I think "alter ego" has
given me a chance to wind it up.

25, 26 years, I had
a professional singing career.

But in 2001, after 9/11,

I had about six
or seven jobs cancel.

So now family
won't have insurance.

I have mortgage payments.

So I'm looking
through the paper,

and that's when I decided
to first go and get certified

and go to trucking school.

And I've been driving
a truck ever since.

Start there.
I'll put you there.

The producers put you
in your motion capture suit,

and I look like a big sausage.

Then they put
all these sensors on you,

and they put,
like, a robot camera
hooked to your head,

which is making the face

of your alter ego do everything
you technically do,

but look a lot prettier.

So that's the judges
and that's the host?

That's correct.

I don't want the judges
to know anything about me.

I don't sound
like anybody else.

I think it will take them
by surprise.

Two reasons why
I wanna win "alter ego."

I don't wanna
drive a truck anymore.

Also,
it'll let me continue doing
what I truly love doing,

and I can still be relevant.

feel relevant.

I never thought I would have

will finally get rid

of some of those insecurities
and fears that I have.

I feel like I have

that my stomach is covered
