all the threat from 10 dot zeroed out to about one all the way through ten dot Zero Dark two dot 255

in sequence OK.

So when do we talk about a subnet what is subnet so we've already said that ropes can be between 0 and

255 so let's talk a little bit more about this subnet or sub network is a logical subdivision of an

IP network the division of a network into two or more networks is called a subnet so computers belonging

to a subnet are treated with the same bit group in their IP address.

And what this does is results in an IP address logically divided into two fields the network number

or routing prefects and the remaining field or host identifier of the rest of field is an identifier

for a specific host or network interface.

The routing prefix can be expressed in the classless cross domain routing or S.L. TR representation

which is written as a first address of a network and then ends with the forward slash character and

the prefix bit length for example 10 does 0 2 does 0 slash 24 is a prefix of the Internet Protocol Version

for network starting at the given address with 24 bits allocated for the network prefix and 8 bit reserved

255 belong to this network for IP for network can also be characterized by subnet mask or net mass.

So this is a bit mask which is bit wise to any IP on a network and one applied by the process.
