and this is my confession.

I stole money from my church

and I hid it in the rear garden.

I murdered my twin brother

and I had an affair with his wife.

I know that forgiveness will
not be forthcoming for me

and I accept that.

I expect you to judge me and that's okay,

but I know that a lot of my parishioners

are left scratching their heads

and wondering how this
could have happened.

So, this is my side of the story.

(dramatic music)

- The church was small,
maybe 50 or so people

on a good Sunday, but they were generous.

(dramatic music)

- [Taylor] I knew hell
was around the corner

when Brenda looked at me with those eyes.

She had an evil plan and she had the ass

to convince me to put it into action.

I could have said no,

but sometimes a man wants
to be led to the fire.

I'd say love made me do
it, but I'd be a liar.

It was lust for me, it was money for her.

I knew hell was coming

and there wasn't a damn
thing I could do about it,

but enjoy the ride.

(Brenda moaning)

- Emily was the church organist.

She had a lifelong crush on Taylor

and would play her heart
out for him every Sunday.

- We've got two tickets.

It was my day, but he was at the controls.

I've been in that trap for seven years.

- Pastor Taylor was a good
man, he was just corrupted,

that's all.

He would steal money from
the church collections

and bury it in a field nearby.

He called that his underground bank.

Sometimes he would make a withdrawal,

sometimes he would make a deposit.

(people murmuring)

Roy was Taylor's twin brother.

He was a little rougher around the edges.

He drove a truck and
Taylor pastored a church.

He doted on his wife though
and I always wondered

why she made him give so much more money

than necessary to the church

- [Roy] That took longer than normal.

- [Brenda] You know
Taylor, slow as molasses.

- [Roy] I don't see why he needs your help

with this sermon every Sunday.

- [Brenda] He just needs
someone to bounce ideas off of.

- I thought that was what God was for.

(people murmuring)
(slow piano music)

- You should give more.

- God has certainly given
us a good day to praise him.

- Amen.

- But God has some serious issues

he wishes for me to
share with you this day.

I ask, are you willing to
take a lie detector test?

God made us to sin.

None of us are perfect,
so we're all dishonest.

Perhaps, you stretch a truth
here or there even flat out lie

to get what you want.

What's the big deal about lying?

It opposes the character
and nature of God.

God is not a man that he
should lie nor a son of man

that he should repent.

Has He not said and will He not do?

Or has He spoken and
will He not make it good?

It supports the playbook of the enemy.

- Amen.

- Now, the serpent was more crafty

than any of the wild animals
the Lord God had made.

He said to the woman, "Did God really say

"you must not eat fruit from the tree

"that is in the middle of the garden?"

The woman said to the serpent,

"We may eat fruit from the
trees that are in the garden,

"but God did say, we must
not eat fruit from the trees

"that are in the middle of the garden

"and you must not touch
it or you will die."

"You will not surely die,"
the serpent said to the woman.

"For God knows that when you eat of it,

"your eyes will be opened
and you will be like God

knowing good and evil."

It creates a separation
between God and from others

and then the eyes of
both of them were opened

and they realized

they were naked.

- So it was one Sunday where
Roy finally came to the church

and left about halfway through.

Brenda stayed behind

waiting for all the congregants to leave,

then like a black widow.

- Nice sermon.

So many people are dishonest,

I feel so lucky to surround
myself with sincere,

honest people like you and Roy.

(footsteps thumping)

- [Emily] Nice sermon.

- You scared me.

(Taylor sighing)

My mom told me once that we all sin,

just that some people
are good at hiding it.

- If I was at the last supper with Him,

- I never understood what
Brenda saw in my twin brother.

He was a beer guzzling,
sports watching, couch potato,

but in hindsight, I think she
may have just played us both.

It was one afternoon

that I couldn't take my
brother's ribbing anymore,

so I went to the bathroom and
she saw it as an opportunity

to put the plan into motion.

(footsteps thumping)

(door knob clicking)

(door clunking)

(dramatic music)

- What are you doing?

in his hand, he rolled it and
stabbed it into his throat.

Taylor killed his own brother,

but he didn't wanna go to jail.

He went to the field and buried Roy,

the same hole where he buried the money.

- What's the taxi for?

- Car got stuck in the mud.

- He left...
- Damn rain won't stop.

- He left here upset.

- He attacked me.

I had to.

He knew about the money, he knew about us.

- I know I told him about us.

- He kept asking me questions
about where I go all the time

The taxi driver heard the

The taxi driver, Alan, doesn't
know what to make of it.

He runs back to his cab when
he hears the sirens coming.

That preacher trusted him,
that's what made him a fool.
