One of my scariest nightmares
that we are about to relive.

I felt it was just healthier
for me, the crew, and everybody

in a large theater.

that we're all going through.

Annabelle.
Yep.

So we are back at
my haunted museum in las vegas.

Since becoming an investigator
so many years ago,

I have worked
to prove the existence

of the paranormal
and unexplained

to as many people as possible.

That's why I am opening a museum
so that people from all over

the world
can come face to face

with absolute proof
of the other side.

There was
a lot of controversy around

this particular
investigation.

Yes, there was.

There's one object that

I've always been
intrigued about.

I've always wanted to be
near it -- annabelle.

In 1970,
the annabelle doll

was gifted to a nursing student
who soon noticed

that the doll would
mysteriously change position,

and she began to find
written pleas for help

scattered
around the apartment.

After a man
who touched the doll

was punished
with a physical attack,

ed and lorraine warren
determined

that the doll was obviously
possessed by something demonic.

Do I believe
annabelle is haunted?

Yes, 100%.

Oh, yeah.
So do I.

Do I believe she's haunted

at the level
that hollywood portrays?

I want to see what happens
when I introduce

this already
incredibly haunted collection

to one of the most famous

and dangerous artifacts
in the world.

dark objects,

all the time,

so I'm gonna want to naturally
investigate this doll...

Tony is the son-in-law

of annabelle, the doll.

We all knew going in
that this doesn't happen a lot

to where he allows
investigations with this doll.

Is this the real doll?

and this was the real doll.

introduces me to annabelle,

I am suddenly overcome

with a strange feeling
of confusion and disorientation.

how affected you were

the interview process.

the doll out.

Him bringing annabelle is like
throwing another chemical

into the beaker,
and it just causes...

what we were dealing with.

the last conversation

with tony in the hallway,

he noticed a strange audio
anomaly within the recording.

We decide to immediately
play it back for review.

I heard it.

But there's no...

I'm getting just kind of really
weird, you know what I mean?

So he was really interested
at this point.

He grabbed that
right out of my hand.

Sounds like a cry

You got to remember,
that was captured

on my wireless mic.

When you were
being affected.

so this was evidence.

This was evidence
that we caught in the moment,

which is always impressive when
you capture it in the moment.

We reviewed it
moments later.

We had
a third party witness.

And at this point,
we all agreed that there was

a female
childish-type whine...
Yeah.

...That nobody
could explain.

-That was compelling.

That proves it,
right there.

I think we need to go
meet her.

I had this opportunity to
investigate such an iconic doll.

I'm studying him, too.

these actions are authentic,

and I finally meet
what many claim

is the world's
most haunted doll, annabelle.

And this is when
the big moment happened.

This is what caused
the controversy,

when I asked
if I could touch the doll.

He snapped right back
with "no."

to do a thorough investigation,
I have to touch the object.
Right.

I have to feel
the energy in it.

Right. You have to experience
all aspects of it.

Ed warren was giving
a small tour of the museum

to some college kids,

and one was about
19 years old.

He came with his girlfriend
on a motorcycle.

I'm not trying to undermine
the credibility of this story,

but you know what?

This was the big history
of annabelle the doll,

a hearsay moment.

Ed was talking about
what happened with this doll,

that a young man had slashes
put on it -- put on him.

When he gets
to that point,

the college student
runs up to the glass case,

starts banging on the case and
says, "this is a bunch of bull.

If that doll can put slashes
on anybody,

do it to me right now."

ed said, "son, you and
your girlfriend got to leave."

he challenged
what was in that doll, right?

Three hours later, though,

that 19-year-old man
was -- was dead.

I don't -- I don't know.
I just --

if something's that dark,
it's gonna happen more often.

Let me experience it.
Exactly.

I take full risk.
Yeah.

I do this.

They were laughing
and joking about that doll.

When he lost total control
of the bike,

went straight on into a tree,
was killed instantly.

[ tires screech, crashing ]

by touching her,
what are you doing?

You are opening
that door to the other realm,

to the preternatural realm.

We've opened
one too many doors already.

opening that door up,

what happens is
you can never close the door.

Why does he care
about my risk?

than he realizes.

For the very first time

we are investigating
the real annabelle doll.

We have tony

I remember sitting there
with him.

that owns the location

is very protective?

As we enter the area

where annabelle is sitting
on a chair in my doll room,

I notice flickering lights

coming from
my fortune telling machine

that's within
about 10 feet of annabelle.

[ sighs ] here we go.

Yeah, it just ramped up
immediately.

So I decide
to unplug the machine.

It's under that back one.

[ unidentified speaking ]

-what the --
-why did it say that?

There is no way
that it can say that.

Let me just show you
right now.

Billy:
What did it say?

That takes a quarter
for that to talk.

-What the hell?
-Whoa.

-Did you hear what it said?
-What did it say?

"electricity."

this is when my voice came out,
the mimicking.

Though,
what's weird, zak,

is it was -- it was
mid-sentence in the dialog,

right, of the script of that.
It chose the word "electricity."

-right.
-Yeah.

It just goes,
"electricity."

I don't even think it was
turned on or anything, either.

Right?
No!

What --
what did it say?

-Something about --
-you feel this?

-Yes, yes.
-Oh, my gosh.

It's something about
the "electricity," it said.

Aaron: Yeah, something about
the electricity. I-I --

there's no way
that it can talk.

As we are feeling
this energy,

within just a few feet
from us in the doll room,

we capture a strange anomaly
close to annabelle.

the doll behind annabelle,
that's cynthia.

Yeah.

Cynthia's
a very haunted doll

that spoke to us
on the spirit box

with intelligent responses

during another investigation
at the haunted museum.

Yes.
Yep.

So at this point,

I wanted to put cynthia
right behind annabelle

to see if there'd be
a reaction.

Yeah, see if it causes some kind
of conflict between them.

Okay, so right now,
we are going to go inside

this little doll room
where annabelle is,

and we're going to try
to communicate with "annabelle,"

who's actually a...

Mm-hmm.
...Inhuman spirit.

Did you hear that?

I swear
I just heard something.

aaron, just make sure
you do not touch annabelle.

I'm coming in.

It starts happening
right here, man.

Soon as you put that doll
with the rest of the dolls.
Oh, yeah.

That's when
it was 100% --

annabelle had energy
around her, 100%.

When you think about
all the millions of people

that show fear
from annabelle,

ed and lorraine warren,

the notoriety
she's gotten from them,

and then now from the --
oh, gosh.

Now feel that.
Aaron, come here!

Whoa.
Yes.

Dude, I'm telling you
right now --

Don't touch her, dude.
Don't touch her.

That was scary, zak,
because it was so dark in there,

I was worried that
we'd bump it by mistake.

Just accidentally, yeah.

Yeah.

All of the millions of people
that have fear

just by saying her name
every day

over and over and over.

Every time
a new movie comes out,

all of this fear
for annabelle, this doll,

it can empower her
just from all that.

Zak:
As I theorize about how

this evil spirit
within annabelle

harnesses its dark powers,
the strong energy returns,

only this time,
it's directly beneath the doll.

So we started getting
this energy field,

this ice-cold energy field

that started floating
around annabelle.

And that was
really compelling.

Put your hand
right there.

Is that --
exactly.

I immediately place
the spirit box down here,

and we receive a voice with
an absolutely disturbing tone.

[ unidentified speaking ]

[ oscillating static ]

oh, yeah.
It said, "listen."

you could hear that.
Very creepy.

Yeah, a very creepy voice
saying it.

Super clear, too.

After I ask, "who are we
supposed to listen to?"

we receive this...

[ oscillating static ]

-did you hear that?
-Yeah, it said, "annabelle."

in a man's voice.
A man's voice.

Jay: "annabelle,"
like that. Yeah.

-In a man's voice.
-I heard that.

So it said,
"listen, annabelle."

"listen, annabelle."

that's when it hit the fan,
and it was like,

"this is gonna get bad."

[ oscillating static ]

zak:
We decide to move annabelle

away from
these other haunted dolls

so that we can focus
on the visual aspects

of our investigation.

Do you think that could have
been annabelle,

or do you think
it might have been

one of
the other spirits there

saying,
"this is annabelle"?

Is this truly annabelle,

or is this one of
the other spirits at the museum

playing with us,
deceiving us?
Right.

We aim multiple cameras
at her,

including the thermal camera,
the full spectrum camera,

the structured
light sensor camera.

And then we begin trying
to make further communication

by using
our talking evp machine.

What do you want, annabelle?

[ unidentified voice ]
you.

-What's that?
-"you."

it said what?

Aaron: You said,
"what do you want, annabelle?"

and it says, "you."
I swear it says, "you."

oh, wow.

do you want me, annabelle?

Demons, entities like this,
they have an agenda.

They plan things.
They will deceive you.

They will mimic you.
100%.

So that was
the big question --

is this the curse of annabelle
or of something else?

zak: We are investigating
the annabelle doll

in my las vegas
haunted museum.

Aaron: You said,
"what do you want, annabelle?"

and it says, "you."
I swear it says "you."

oh, wow.

I think it connected
with you immediately,

which actually was scary
because we've seen you

on investigations
kind of transfer and change,

so I was like...
Right.

"what's gonna happen
to you?"

like, this moment
was so intense.

Anything could snap
and go wrong.

You want me, annabelle?

U-s.

Whoa, whoa.

-She's using that device --
-us.

-Us. U-s.
-She wanted --

-us.
-You want us?

In god's name, what do you want
with us, annabelle?

Billy: I think
when she said "us," zak,

she was talking
about you and her.

Like, "us."
yeah, I do, too.

You. Us.
Yeah, the two of us.

aaron: Be careful, zak.

Are you using
the ground, annabelle?

Whoa, I just heard
[growls].

Huh?
I just heard
like a [growls] like sound.

Like a -- like a snarl,
like, animal sound, I swear.

Are you using the ground,
annabelle?

Whoa.

We captured
a weird little snarl.

Which I think was something
from your place

being mad
that it's in there.

But this is where
it all changed.

billy:
Zak, right now...

Oh, my god.

You had two skeletons
on you.

It jumped into you,
connected with you more

'cause you're so close
to it, dude.

You had
your mapped figure,

two figures over top
of each other,

and then one went --
[ gasps ]

oh, my god.
It's on your shoulder.

It's standing
on top of you.

It keeps coming out of you
and on you and on top of you

and behind you
and into the doll.

As if the doll
had a spirit coming out of it,

going into me.
Yeah.

Billy: It was just standing up
on top of your shoulder,

a little figure,
and then back into you.

And then
from your stick figure

into her stick figure,
I swear to god.

Super compelling
as far as I'm concerned.

It's all about
you and this doll, zak.

Zak: As I'm whispering
to annabelle,

my body is being mapped
by a skeletal figure,

as it should be.

But then,
all of a sudden,

a second unknown skeletal figure
also appears inside my body.

This second
unknown skeletal figure

then transfers itself
from me to annabelle.

That was the big part for me,
when my second skeletal figure,

as if I had
a second spirit in me...
Yes.

...Went from me to annabelle
as if we became one.

Right. That's why
I was freaking out.

I'm like -- I was the only one
seeing it at that time.

Next, it's as if this figure
jumps back out of annabelle,

hovers behind me
and then behind her

before getting on
top of my shoulders.

I believe our equipment
is detecting

the evil spirit
inside annabelle,

leaving her to find something
or someone else to possess.

This is when
something psychological

began affecting me.
Definitely. Yeah.

And I felt
this trance-like state.

Are you alright,
zak?
Huh?

Are you alright?

Man, I can feel a lot
of energy right in front of me.

It is now
that I start zoning out.

Everything feels weird
around me.

And I know this sounds crazy,

but I feel connected
to annabelle

and protective of her.

And her stick figure keeps
jumping in and out of me.

That doll caused
that motorcycle accident --

that's the big story
within the history of annabelle.

So any investigating
of annabelle the doll,

of us asking it questions,
doing anything,

we could also suffer
that same wrath.

I just want
to touch her so bad.

Aaron: Don't touch.
Don't touch, man.

Zak, don't touch the doll,
whatever you do.

That's how they
try to entice you.

I know, tony,
but I just feel like I want to.

you're inviting evil into you.

and get close to it,

It was like
you were connecting.

Bill: It's starting
to map the doll.

The doll's

because it's affecting
your behavior.

It's getting
to the point now

where the doll is trying
to take control over.

back in the case.

he was not happy.

Well, he wasn't happy.
But, you know what?

It just shocked me
that there was never one time

where he acknowledged
how crazy this evidence was.

He was watching live!

He was more worried
about you touching it.

If all of this evidence
isn't enough already

to add to annabelle's legend
of being a haunted doll,

we yet again received her name
on another communication device.

Billy: She's trying to
take control of this. I-I--

I feel like I have
a fever of 105.

I'm, like, sweating like crazy.
It was cold in here.

Tony, please, can I give you --
I'll give you anything you want.

Can I please just --
just hold her once?

Tony: You are playing right into
the hands of the demonic.

Well, she wants me
to grab her, tony.

She wants me to.
She's --

tony, if you know
the paranormal so well,

you would understand

when you're letting me be
5 inches away

from one of the most haunted
objects in the world,

I could run into the risk
of being affected

under the -- the spell of this
negative spirit or this demon.

And that's
what was happening to me.

Additionally, tony told us
that the man who died

in the motorcycle accident
never actually touched her.

He was just speaking to her
from outside her case.

So if that story is true,
then it really confuses me

that he wouldn't already think
I am in grave danger

from being inches from her

and speaking to her,
engaging with her.

So why would be touching her
be any different?

Well, she wants me to grab her.

It says, "god."

this says "god"
right now.

-Are you serious?
-No, it says, "god."

zak: As tony is telling me
to ask god for protection,

the talking evp device that's
aimed directly at annabelle

says the word "god."

tony: God is your protector,
remember that, zak.

If you touch the doll, zak,
all bets are off.

I cannot guarantee your safety
in the future.

Or have a heart attack?
Because that can happen.

This is when I started
really fearing for you, zak.

I was like, "he's gonna do it.
Don't do it."

This is the moment
where I'm literally thinking

we're all in trouble,

zak: The world renowned
annabelle doll

is inside my haunted museum,

and although she has harmed

other men
who have spoken to her,

I can't help but feel
an almost irresistible urge

to reach out and
make direct physical contact.

This moment was not me.

Tony: If you touch the doll,
zak, all bets are off.

After tony tells me
not to touch the doll,

it seems annabelle commands me
to do the opposite,

as the talking evp device
suddenly says,

"grab foot."

billy: You know what
this talking evp just said?

"grab --"
foot.

-What'd it say?
-"foot."

right after each other,
just, "grab," "foot."
yeah.

That is proof that something
was affecting me.

Something was
inside of me.
Right.

How much more proof
do you want?

It's trying to tempt to you,
but you're stronger than.

There is a moment there
where I was sitting next to it

and it was just like
I was connected to her.

Of course.
You're not alone, zak.

It is inside of you.
You need to have it.

why would you do that?

I didn't even know
I did that.

It was
a subconscious action.

You fell to the ground
after you touched it, too.

Did you do it?

Did he touch it?

-Yeah.

Something influenced you
to do it in the end.

Something influenced me.
And here he comes in.

And now he's telling me,
"you know what?

I'm gonna take my doll
and I'm gonna leave."

Yeah.

Because if you touch
the doll, zak,

you're gonna be
in spiritual danger.

Tony is very angry
and removes annabelle.

Once he returns,
I feel the need to confess

that I grabbed
the doll's foot.

So here I am trying to tell him
that I was being affected.

It was weird.
I wasn't expecting it, trust me.

There was
a weird connection there.

She told me
to grab her.

She told you
to grab her.

Yeah.

You know
what that is, right?

That's their way of
getting you to touch them.

Like I said --
I think I grabbed her foot
on accident.

People don't understand
the effects that we have

when we investigate.
We're different.

I'm very sensitive
to energy,

and annabelle's investigation
affected me deeply.

He should have
understood that.

the evil entity

that possesses annabelle

and is currently roaming free
inside of the haunted museum.

will it return to the doll

before tony
abruptly takes it away?

Ever since annabelle left,

the activity at my museum
has increased twofold.
Aaron: Yeah.

I had weird moments
happen for months after that,

and I didn't even
touch the doll.

Dude, I feel like
something's not right with me.

You're not
acting normal.

-I was freaking out.
-Right?

Dude, he needs something.
I'm saying, like,
I need the place to myself.

Jesus.
Did that just say --

That says --

As our investigation
comes to an end

and tony heads back
to his hotel with annabelle,

I start to become
very affected

while also having
violent thoughts.

-What's wrong with you?
-You look weird.

Zak: And as I make
the difficult drive home,

I arrive at my house and make
a rather ironic discovery.

And then a series
of weird things happened

as I drove home,
pull into the garage.

And look at my odometer --

6,666 miles.

My odometer reads 6-6-6.
Oh, yeah.

Oh, right.

Which, hey,
could be a coincidence.

Weird coincidence, right?

[ indistinct shouting ]

oh, my god, dude!

I've never seen it like this

I begin walking towards the room
to make sure she's not getting

Soon as I reached the room,
jay radios us

with some compelling research

regarding
the odd fellows' skeleton.

So there was a david cook
that died in 1957.

He was a member
of the odd fellows.

and then I look it up,
and it's actually

onto the funeral kneeler.

When we try to debunk this,

comes out of the funhouse.

and it was following me.
