Hope everyone is ready because it’s time for Planet Action!

Your weekly low down on all the thrills and spills, ins and outs and ups and downs of your favourite action stars and films!

In this episode, we hang out with the Australian god of Thunder; Chris Hemsworth

I wouldn’t say this is the path to choose because I’m doing it.you know

I think they’ll be exposed to it because I’m working it

We look back at the BAFTA award winning, racing blockbuster, Rush

And we hang out with our favourite superstars as they drive their super cars!

But first, let’s check out a few A listers who have really packed on some extra muscle for their roles on the big screen!

Often a role in Hollywood comes with a certain body type

Some stars have to gain a specific amount of weight or just slim down and follow a strict diet

And sometimes stars go to the gym and muscle it up to portray for example a famous boxer like Michael B Jordan in ‘Creed’

Let’s check out which stars muscled it up

First up is of course Chris Hemsworth for his role of the god of thunder

he packed on no less than 20 pounds of muscle!

Being on diets and tight training schedules is harder than it seems even for the physic actor.

Just the sort of insanity of constantly thinking about when your next meal is or what you can have and what you can't have

and if I eat this you know, hmm could I have dinner

that means that I can't have this.

All the sort of craziness that comes with it

Another star who developed some muscles is Alicia Vikander for the role in ‘Tomb Raider

she bulked up quite a bit to fit the image of the strong and tough Lara Croft

Which was quite a challenge for the very petit Alicia

But after gaining 10 pounds of muscle she felt a lot closer to her character

I was really

I was really excited that it was integrated into the story that it is a young woman who is also

she is feminine, but she is also physically strong

And the fact that you can buy it and the fact that she is thrown on this adventure

and can be capable of pulling herself up a boulder or trying to take on a man

but he is obviously a lot bigger than her

So, it was fun to do that change and see how much you can change your body

Next to Michael B. Jordan there was also Jake Gyllenhaal

who portrayed a famous boxer and he also was doing a lot heavy training for his role in ‘Southpaw

And he didn’t only train to look good and convincing

he also had to do a lot of practice in the ring to really become a boxer physically and mentally

Chris Pratt, you may or may not remember used to be a little chubby

For his roles in the big blockbusters 'Guardians of the Galaxy' and the dino-riffic sequel 'Jurassic World'

he had to lose quite a lot of weight and muscle up big time,

which of course is a lot harder if you weren’t really fit before

you know, In order to keep up the physicality of this character

it required maybe an hour or two of work a day

Just consistent working out through the course of making the movie and also a few months leading up to it

So, I was just... it took a little bit.

And let’s not forget Channing Tatum for ‘Magic Mike’ and ‘Magic Mike XXL

Based on his own life experience Chan found it easy to come into character

But he was also really happy when they where done shooting and he could let go of the heavy work-out sessions

I work out for what part I am playing. That is it

And I am not a stripper anymore in my real life, so I don't work out like that anymore

. I did not work out once since the actual finale of the movie

Of course, Channing wasn’t the only star who looked ripped and muscular

No, the whole movie was filled with men looking like gods

Talking about a good-looking cast.

For the 2017 comedy ‘Baywatch’ the whole cast had to look their best and they trained a lot to become fit

For some it came a bit easier than for others

My diet was everything

My workout was every time I felt guilty and I saw the rest of the girls going to work out

I’d be like: Oh my god, maybe I should just go to the treadmill for like half an hour.

But I have great Indian genes, you know

My genes and my metabolism is awesome, so I take advantage of that a little bit

We all really stepped up our game and having Dwayne and having Zac there, as sort of the leaders of the group in a way

, I think it just inspired us to work harder

- and swim around the buoy
- keep up

It wasn’t just the other cast members pushing them to get fit though, they also had a little bit of professional help

I think like, the best, like to a certain extent

I think right now I’m probably stronger and in better health than when I was filming

but for achieving a look, the ‘Baywatch’ look, that was, I was fit

Let’s take a closer look at one of those bulky stars we just talked about

specifically the god of Thunder and son of Odin, Thor

Or as he’s legally known; Chris Hemsworth

Australian actor Chris Hemsworth is one of the most sought-after stars in Hollywood

He broke through years ago, when he was cast as the Marvel hero Thor

and he’s been living the good life ever since

Let’s take a closer look at this Aussie, on-screen, action hero

Known for his deep resonant voice, light blue eyes, towering height and muscular physique

we're pretty sure one glimpse of that smile is enough to make a whole stadium full of girls faint

It’s funny because I had nothing to do with it. My parents built me, I guess

Chris' first role in a Hollywood movie was the small part of Captain Kirk’s father in the 2009 'Star Trek' reboot

Soon, he got his big break in the Marvel flick 'Thor' where he plays the title character

Needless to say, Chris has always been the kind of actor who's been popular with the ladies

He dated actress Isabel Lucas before marrying Spanish babe Elsa Pataky of ’Fast & Furious' fame

The couple tied the knot in December 2010, and have a daughter called India Rose and twin boys Sasha and Tristan

Even though both Chris and Elsa are actors, he doesn't necessarily want his kids to choose the same career path

look I’d encourage them to do whatever makes them happy

I certainly wouldn’t say this is the path to choose because I’m doing it.you know

I think they’ll be exposed to it because I’m working it.

But I’d hope they wait until they’re a little older before they make that decision

Chris, Elsa and their kids live lives everyone’s jealous of

And we’re not just talking about making movies, hitting red carpets and visiting celebrity parties

It’s also their spare time and the amazing things they fill it with

The Aussie star loves sharing his adventures through social media

Like the time he went on holiday in the beautiful Maldives, where he took time to clean up the beach

Or when he attended the Grand Prix in Monaco

The best part of that trip is that it was completely free as it was sponsored by watchmaker Tag Heuer.

Chris became an ambassador for the brand in 2015

and besides, a healthy paycheck, free vacations and watches are nice perks indeed

Chris also often heads back to his homeland of Australia for some surfing and relaxing on the beach

In 2017, he was promoting his blockbuster ‘Thor: Ragnarök’ with co-star Mark Ruffalo

Together they visited fan events like Disney’s D23 expo and Comic Con San Diego

Their method of transportation?

This sweet private jet

And in case you’re wondering what kind of car the multi-millionaire was driving at the time, an Acura SUV

Not the most extravagant ride ever, but we guess that’s just Aussie practicality

Not only has Chris Hemsworth been crowned the sexiest man alive back in 2014

at the time he was worth an estimated 71 million dollars.

And with that kind of wealth we can expect plenty more luxurious pics on his Instagram page in the future

One of the biggest roles Chris has ever played is that of British Formula 1 driver James Hunt in the 2013 racing blockbuster Rush

Let’s take a look back at that award-winning high octane adventure

Ah, you only slept with me because you thought I was famous

- oh that's not true
- Don’t worry, I will be one day

Ron Howard’s 2013 film ‘Rush’ chronicles the relentless rivalry between Formula 1 drivers Niki Lauda

and James Hunt in the nineteen seventies

Don’t worry if you’re not much of a racing enthusiast, however

, it’s really a character piece about two very different people

Lauda is the introverted guy, who lives only for his sport, while Hunt is a womanizer who loves to party

The biggest was sort of getting inside who this guy was.

His personality. What was his motivation behind what he did?

you know, He had a very passionate personality

A very visceral approach towards his racing and his life

It's really one of the most extreme and different characters that I ever did.

And on top of that, going through that experience with Ron Howard is amazing

Rush’ is very historically accurate,

only in the rivalry between the drivers did the filmmakers take some creative freedom to make it a bit more dramatic

To give an example of a detail they added for the sake of authenticity

; to mimic Lauda’s overbite, actor Daniel Bruhl wore a dental appliance, so he’d have one too.

I accept that every time I get in my car, there's twenty percent chance I could die

And I can live with it

but not one percent more

And today with the rain, the risk is more.

I guess that depends on how good you are on the ring

Actors Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Bruhl, who play James and Niki

weren’t allowed to drive real Formula 1 cars

Instead they were given Formula 3 rides, but with F1 bodywork

When you think about it, there aren’t a lot of movies about this racing sport

That’s kind of peculiar, as it makes a perfect backdrop for a cool film

Formula 1, with the danger

with the blend of cutting-edge technology

The money poured into the sport and the sort of politics of it

and the very unique number of people who actually have the capability of competing at that level as drivers

it's so dramatic. It makes it so dramatic. It's just super charged

Rush’ received extremely high ratings from critics and was definitely one of the better films of 2013

One of the reasons for that is the way it was shot

It’s so suspenseful, even people who couldn’t care less about Formula 1, were hooked on the races

We're trying a lot of different experiences with a lot of different kind of cameras strapped to the car and lots of different tracking vehicles

Because we knew that making coverage of any sport, the television coverage these days is so sophisticated

it's quiet You have to do the same and go to another level

And we're trying to keep the excitement and the violence really instead of it all being smooth and easy

You want to see the camera shaking and get a sense of the excitement around the sport.

Time to figure out what it takes to get yourself a Formula 1 race

But before we go on, we have to make one thing absolutely clear

driving a Formula 1 racing car is not for the faint of heart

Just imagine accelerating to 100 mph and then braking back to zero, all in just 4 seconds

You might not survive if you have a heart condition

The effect is like feeling your body being squeezed with an invisible force

Breath control is important in such a situation,

and race car drivers have to go through numerous drills to prepare for G-forces like that

Superhero-like stamina and overall physical fitness are a crucial necessity

So now that we’ve covered that, it’s time to get to the fun part

how much money do we need to buy one of these turbo-charged babies?

Well, like with so many A-List Must Haves: it depends

First of all

no team would ever sell their retired cars fresh from the previous season’s grid

. Formula 1 is, understandably, a secretive world, and with good reason

a car contains far too much valuable intellectual property

Some teams actually never release their cars, because they’re such an important part of the program

But hey, that’s just all the more reason to really want to own one, right?

The most important factor when determining the value is the car’s pedigree

A successful car is way more valuable than an unsuccessful one

So, getting an independent, specialist engineer to assess the car properly before purchase is a wise move

Especially if the car is going to be raced

That being said: let’s get to the numbers

Prices start from around $150,000 dollars for a fully functioning Formula 1 car raced in the early nineties

but can reach well over $2 million bucks for a car with a particularly desirable heritage

Seems like in order to enjoy going really fast, one must also love spending a lot of money

Which is exactly how it should be when it comes to racing cars like this

I have a Ford Focus and a clean license

so I'm very different from Frank Martin

How fast have I ever driven?

I think the fastest I've driven on a road

on a real road

was in 'Transporter 2'
we had a Lamborghini, Murcielago

and it was a prototype at the time, it was the roadster.

And they closed a huge section of this built up area

and I mean, must been doing about a ton fifty-five or something like that

My driving instructor that got me through my test was a lovely man

And he actually encouraged me, this is very interesting, he encouraged me to take little risks

. He said: No, drive a little too close

He said: Drive a little too close

Not keep your distance, drive a little too close

That's the way to judge the size of your vehicle and how close you are to things. He was a lovely man

Ryan Gosling and Nicolas Winding-Refn even cooked up their award-winning film 'Drive' in Ryan's ride

We got in the car, and it was that awkward drive home where you don't know what to say to each other

so I just kind of turned up the music,

and REO Speedwagon's 'I Can't Fight This Feeling Anymore' came on

And Nicolas…

I thought, I wasn't sure, I thought it couldn't be true

but out of the corner of my eye I thought I saw him crying.

And then I looked over, and he started singing at the top of his lungs:

I can't fight this feeling anymore

It's time to bring this ship into the shore and throw away the oars forever.

Cause I can't fight this feeling

And he said

this is all he said all night

and then he said: I got it

This is the movie.

The movie is about a man who drives around Los Angeles at night, listening to pop music

But of course, no one knows a good set of wheels better than the cast of the 'Fast & Furious' franchise

I like speed, adrenaline, and driving, you know?

You have to just like it. It's part of you know, like any other… for me it's like a sport almost

You enjoy driving and going around and you enjoy where it takes you

and that's what's beautiful about it.

A crackhead came in, this is a true story, and he was like: Hey, does anybody wanna buy a car?

? I looked outside and there was a '77 blue Thunderbird parked outside, powder blue

I said: How much? He was like 80 bucks

'Cause he was just lookin' for a hit, you know?

So, I was like: Here, here's forty bucks, and I'll come back, I'll give you the rest

He was like: Okay

So, me and my buddy got in the car and took off

and we were like: Damn, we just got a car for eighty… for forty bucks!

You know, cars are like women to us

We take care of them, you know, we buy them thing

We switch out their outfits

Right, and we enjoy the guts of it

yeah that's true,for real

And if we want new guts, we swop em out.

You might have noticed, but this episode is all about racing and cars!

If there’s one place that’s truly a Valhalla for fans of those than it’s got to be Monaco

Which is of course due to their world renown Grand prix

Let’s find out what else the Principality has to offer!

When people think of Monaco, wealth, allure, romance and a blissful lifestyle probably come to mind.

This mini country on France's sun-kissed Mediterranean coast is home to about 38,000 people,

and one in three of them are millionaires

Monaco truly has it all

a variety of museums

some of the most luxurious hotels in the world

sumptuous gastronomy

enviable shopping

and perhaps the best people-watching anywhere in the world

Add in the many casinos and clubs of its lively nightlife scene,

One of the world’s most recognizable destinations and iconic sporting events, the Monaco Grand Prix is a true bucket list experience for any A-list celebrity

Run since 1929, this glamorous race is widely considered to be one of the world’s greatest and most challenging competitions

not to mention one of the most exotic and prestigious events in all of sport

The renowned rally takes place on a narrow, winding street trail through Monte Carlo,

a course that allows no margin for error

Of course, we can’t talk about Monaco without mentioning one of the highlights of the country’s modern history

the fairy-tale wedding of American actress Grace Kelly and Monaco’s Prince Rainier

Kelly's stunning gown became one of the most famous wedding dresses of all time

and was actually a gift to the actress from MGM

It reportedly required 30 seamstresses and 6 weeks to make

The ceremony at Monaco's St. Nicholas Cathedral was attended by around 600 people

people including movie stars like Cary Grant, Ava Gardner, and Gloria Swanson,

as well as society notables like Aristotle Onassis and Conrad Hilton

Monaco has a red-hot real estate market

Demand is high, supply is scarce and property prices are off the charts

The tiny land’s magnificent properties attract investors from around the world

Their palatial and extravagant homes are nothing short of extraordinary,

making Monaco an enchanting and wonderful place to live

Ultra-prime property here sells for roughly $9,000 dollars per square foot

or about 50% more than comparable homes in New York City

Surely, Monaco is the embodiment of class, style and grace

This Academy Award winner has been spotted around the track in Monaco a few times enjoying her time in the sun

And now she’ll get to enjoy her time in our spotlight too,

as we get up close and personal with this Swedish superstar!

Alicia Vikander's parents split up when she was just a baby, and she was raised by her mother

a stage actress, who used to bring her daughter to the theatre instead of leaving her with a babysitter.

The Swedish beauty began her own performing career at just seven, appearing in musicals and on TV

I was brought up in Sweden and I think it, you know

in my work my culture shines through

Vikander also trained as a ballerina for nine years, before injuries put a halt to that dream.

She applied to drama school twice but was turned down

She WAS offered the chance to go to law school, but just before beginning her legal studies

she was cast in her debut film, and decided to put her focus on acting after all

If I'm gonna do it, I love to go all the way

After filming her first English language picture, 'Anna Karenina'

Alicia moved to London full-time

At first, though, she shared a dingy, rat infested apartment with some friends, including the DJ duo Icona Pop

Luckily, their careers soon took off and within two years Vikander had bought her own place

but her early struggles help keep her ego in check.

I'm very humble towards the fact that I've been able to work with some amazing filmmakers

and some incredible actors, and with good projects

Gorgeous Oscar winner Alicia Vikander is one of the movie industry's best it-girl

and we are sure we will be crazy about her for a long time to come
