and I'm a motivational speaker.

I was married for 28 years

and separating from my wife was the

RICHARD: As a result of
a fairly unsatisfactory experience

on dating apps,

I was sitting at home, complaining
about that to my daughter Roxy,

who I live with

and she turned to me and said,
"Well, why don't you, you know,

"just apply for MAFS and see
what they come up with, Dad?

"Maybe you'll get a good match
there."

And I thought, "OK, well,
let the universe take its course

"and see where this thing lands."

I'm a child at heart massively,

so, yeah, having somebody with
a young spirit is very important.

I'm 51
and I'm from the Sunshine Coast.

That I have owned two motorbikes.

I played in an all-girl

I would never have children...

because I had severe endometriosis,

but a couple of years later,
I fell pregnant

and now I'm blessed with two kids.

I was married
to the father of my children

and I ended that
when the children were very young

because my kids were coming home
to an unhappy home

and that was affecting them.

They've both moved out of home now,

so it's my turn
and I now want my husband.

I want that long-term forever thing.

I think that
whoever you end up marrying

has to accept your personality
and all your little quirks.

Someone who just lets you be you.
Yeah.

We've never seen a couple

with this level of maturity
and life experience before,

so the two of them are going to meet
at a very different level

from our other couples
in the experiment.

But it's also a generation
that didn't really grow up

with all the talk
surrounding relationships.

Fortunately,
Andrea's an avid MAFS viewer

and it was what precipitated her
ending her last relationship

because she realised she was in
a situation that was not healthy.

A couple of seasons ago, one of your
contestants was gaslighting

and I've gone,
"Well, what the heck is that?"

So I'm sitting in bed
and I googled 'gaslighting'

and I sat there next to my partner

and realised I was being gaslit
a lot,

so it actually felt like
a stick breaking inside me

right at that moment

and I knew that I was done.

Because MAFS broke up
my relationship,

I feel that they should find me
a new man.

I'd love someone that likes
adventure, rides motorbikes

and is just a happy person,
positive thinker,

someone to have fun with me.

in this experiment
