in lamé and chiffon.

The second outfit,

in shades of sea-green velvet

over a dress of green silk

and black-beaded tulle.

For theater or cocktails,

two early-evening outfits.

First, the longer, lean line

of this Persian coat

combines a raspberry-and-gold

embroidered jacket

over a long silk skirt,

shot with red and gold threads.

Secondly, a charming,

velvet theater coat,

gathered from the shoulder into

a long waistband and slim skirt,

which continues

our commedia dell'arte look.

The skirt below

is made of blue lamé.

Note, the waistline

on both outfits

is coming to rest

at the top of the hip.
