two gunmen came in shooting

and began working their way
through the school.

At first, many students
dismissed it as a prank,

until teachers raced ahead
to classrooms,

yelling for students to run.

And then he came
into the cafeteria,

and you could hear, like,

Bombs and shotguns going off.

And then he came
into the library...

And he was gonna kill us
if we were of color,

and... if we had a hat.

People were getting shot
all around me.

Newsman: 12 students
and one teacher were killed,

and more than 25
seriously injured

before the two teenage shooters
took their own lives.

To the people of the community
of Littleton...

I can only say tonight that the
prayers of the American people

are with you.
