All language subtitles for 9. Installing The Theme, Plugins & Starter Website Demo (1)

All right.

So before we actually go ahead and install any plugin on the website, I want you to go and do a big

clean up.

Now over here.

I'm going to go to the posts, all posts, and we're going to have to go ahead and delete all the dummy

posts that were added.

Now we have this post here.

Hello world.

We don't really need it, so trash it.

And actually if you can go to trash and you can even delete it permanently so that it doesn't occupy

a size from your website and to speed up your website in some sense.

Now here I'm going to click on all pages.

And so we have some pages over here.

We're not going to be needing all of the pages Now, the sample page, we don't need it.

As far as the privacy policy page is concerned, we can keep it up there.

So right now, let's go ahead to plugins and I want you to click on Add New.

And over here is the list of plugins that we're going to install.

So the first plugin we're going to start with is contact form seven by this guy over here, Takaaki

or Takayuki Miyoshi.

Now the names are important.

Some of you might be wondering, why are you telling us the name of the person or the company that created

the plugin?

Well, it's very simple because you don't want to go installing the plugin from somebody who didn't

create it.

You want to get the plugin from the creator of it.

So here search for contact form seven and over here you're going to get a result.

So the first result that we're going to get is usually the one.

And of course here we got the name correct contact form seven.

So there is no problem there.

You can see over here that the plugin was installed by 5 million plus people and it is compatible with

our version of WordPress and it was last updated two weeks ago.

All of these are important data.

Now what you're looking for when installing a plugin is, is it compatible with WordPress and when is

it last updated or was it last updated?

Because a plugin that's not updated regularly is risky and can get your website in trouble when it comes

to security because that might start constituting a loophole.

Plugins that are not updated are a risk to the website.

That's what I want you to take home.

Now over here in any time or any any time you want to install a plugin, all you have to do is to click

the install now button and right here you can click on Activate once the plugin is installed.

So I'm going to click on Activate.

This is a very simple plugin and this is the one that we're going to use.

If you notice or if I take you back to the website over here, let me go to the home page.

This is the one or the plugin that we've used to build the contact form to get the emails out of people

so that they subscribe to our newsletter, so that we keep them.

Because when you keep people in your newsletter, what you can do later on is you can start sending

them an autoresponder email, you can set up an autoresponder email sequence and you can start sending

them emails with links to your website and potentially that's a good traffic or a decent traffic at

least.

So over here it says the site is not accessible.

Now this can happen sometimes, so I'm just going to click on refresh.

If it doesn't work, I'm just going to go back.

So according to Murphy's Law, when things go wrong, they will just go wrong.

So if anything goes wrong, just try a couple of buttons, go back and over here, usually that will

solve the issue.

So if I go to installed plugins, normally I should see contact form is here except for it's not activated.

So right now when I click on activate it was activated.

No harm done.

But to those of you who might run into some issues, you might think, well, this is a problem.

I'm frustrated.

I'm not going to continue building the website.

And that's exactly what the devil wants you to do.

He wants you to just quit.

So don't quit and try different things now, especially with a new website.

I'm really used to this.

I'm really used to these error messages from time to time and I'm quite the master at getting over them.

So over here, when it comes to the next plugin that we're going to install is Elementor.

Now Elementor is a page builder that is going to allow us to build our website effortlessly without

knowing any coding and any skill at all is just drag and drop.

So I'm going to go ahead first of all here and I'm going to click on Add New, and I want you to search

for this plugin Elementor.

Okay, so it's the best page builder by far and let nobody tell you anything.

And actually it's one of the fewest page builders that is free, that has a free version.

Most of the other page builders have a paid version.

So here click on install Now.

Now here in this case as well, it's installed by 5 million people, four and a half reviews here and

last updated one week ago compatible with that version of WordPress.

And I'm going to click on the Activate button over here.

Hopefully there's not going to be an error when it comes to the website and even if it happens, we're

going to solve it.

All right.

So we can see that the same error actually happened.

So one way to get around this is just keep going back, right?

Go back to the previous and you can see that over here, you have the activate button.

We can try and click on it once more.

If it doesn't work, we're going to go back and go to installed plugins and activate it from there.

Now, hopefully this.

Will work this time.

Now it works.

Okay, so no problem.

And over here you can actually create your account or skip or connect an account if you have one.

Now, because I already have an account.

I'm going to click connect my account, and I'm just going to go ahead and add the credentials for my

account.

Now here, Oops, it looks like this page is lost.

All right.

So I'm going to just click connect my account one more time.

If it doesn't work, well, no problem.

We can actually click the skip button over here and no problem at all.

Now, here they're asking you to continue continue with the hello theme.

Now, the hello theme is a theme that was developed by Elementor and I don't recommend you to use that.

We're going to use Astra.

So just click on Skip right here and you should be fine over here.

I highly recommend you to just click on Skip.

All right, Just skip everything over here, right?

Skip, skip, skip, Skip.

And yeah, this is a good feeling when you get to skip everything and no responsibility is there.

And so right now we have installed Elementor successfully and we can start using it.

And how do I know that?

Well, Elementor is here.

So how do we get out of the Elementor view?

Now you just click here on this sandwich button and exit right just this side later.

Now over here.

We're going to exit to the dashboard and I'm going to click on the WordPress icon over here and I'm

on the dashboard.

So here we have installed two plugins so far.

Let's go and install the other ones.

Now I'll leave Rankmath Rankmath SEO to the end and I'll let you know why.

But first off, we're going to download this plugin over here, Social Snap Lite, and this plugin is

what actually allows us to add these social sharing icons which are crucial and you can see that they

are actually pretty good because they scroll down with the person that is actually looking on your website

and they can share your website at any point in time.

So here I'm going to go and look for social Snap.

On plugins.

So I'm going to go to add new over here and let's go and search for social snap.

Right?

Social snap.

It's a pretty good plugin.

It was developed by social snap.

So here, this is the one 20,000 installations click on install and this will, like I said, allow

you to add social sharing icons, which is not possible for free.

And yeah, like I promised, everything is going to be for free.

So hopefully this will activate.

Let's go and have a look at the second plugin.

Now, starter templates starter templates is fantastic because it will allow us to import a ready to

go website and all we will have to do is to edit that website exactly as I did over here so you don't

have to build the website from scratch.

You can import a ready to go one and just tweak it around to whichever way you see fit.

Now over here we can see that the error is still going.

So no issue.

I'm just going to go back over here and I'm going to go back to the list of installed plugins and I

can activate the plugin from here by the simple click of a button.

Right.

So it was activated.

Now don't need to do anything else, right?

Just just stay chill and come back here to plugins.

Click on Add new again and let's go right now and add the starter templates plug in starter.

Templates.

Now, I've already explained what this plugin does.

It's very, very good.

And for free right now.

Now, not all the not all the websites are for free on this theme or on this plugin, but a lot of them

are for free.

So I'm going to click install plugins because I don't want to do that mistake again.

I would rather activate the plugin from here than receiving that error message and this plugin works

really, really well with the Astro theme.

So over here we have the unlimited elements for Elementor.

I'm going to go here to add new and I'm going to add the unlimited elements.

Over here.

So let's search for Unlimited.

Elements.

And this plugin actually will allow us to add some elements that are not available in the free version

of Elementor.

So I'm going to click install now.

Now you can see that already 200,000 people have installed it.

I'm not going to click Activate from there.

I'm going to click installed plugins and let's go down here and activate it from here.

To be risk free.

Now, over here we have this plugin known as Updraftplus.

This plugin is a backup and restore plugin and will allow you to create backups of your website so that

you don't lose the data when something happens.

Over here we can actually click, allow and continue or just skip.

I'm just going to skip.

I like skipping stuff.

Now, before we skip everything, I want you to click on the post widget right here and I want you to

add the.

Now here, this is a pro element.

Now the post carousel.

All right.

So let's scroll down here.

Now I want you to add the post list and because we might use that, but definitely we will be using

the blog or the post the blog thing.

So here, let's just search for it post blocks, let's install this.

So post list and post block.

And here the post grid is actually pro.

Most of these elements are pro, but let's just install the free ones.

And typically here we're only going to be using the post blocks to create a blog looking blog over here

like this one right here, which is amazing that we can do this for free.

And the post list, we might use it, we might not use it.

So but just install them anyways.

I would have also recommended you to add the pagination.

Right.

But I'm not going to be really using it.

But we can actually search for it from here.

It serves nothing to not really install it, so let's just search for it and add it is for free.

Now we have added that successfully.

So let's go ahead right now to see what the rest of the plugins are.

Now for caching.

The plugin that I prefer for caching purposes is WP fastest cache because it helps me make my website

faster.

And if you want to check how you can actually make your website faster using this plugin, there are

a lot of videos out there on the web that will teach you how to speed up your website using this very,

very same plugin for free.

Now I'm going to go ahead over here and I'm going to install this plugin.

Now you can see here that I also have WP Forms lite, but since we have installed contact form seven,

there is no reason for us to have WP forms lite, so I'm just going to keep it at that.

I'm going to go to here plugins and click on Add new.

So like promised we're going to install WP fastest cache which is actually has the logo of a cheetah.

Now here let's fastest and it's going to give us some results.

Let's just wait for a second here.

Yeah this is the plugin WP fastest cache.

We can install it now and we can actually go to installed plugins, the list of installed plugins and

activate it from there.

So right now we have all our plugins ready to go.

All the only thing left for us to do is to add the theme.

So I'm going to click on appearance themes.

And let's go ahead here and let's add a new theme.

So how do you add a new theme?

Well, it's very simple, actually.

Click on Add new at the top over here, or you can actually come in here new.

I hope.

Well, and you can basically just well, let's just do this and you can actually upload a thing from

your computer if you want.

You can click upload the theme in a zip file.

You can go to wordpress.org now, never go to these websites that promise you to get a theme for practically

half the price or ten times lower.

These are spammy websites only install the themes from websites that are trusted, such as wordpress.org

envato market.

These websites are generally the leaders, and that's where you should go and install your plugins and

themes.

So here I'm going to look for Astra.

Now unfortunately, if you can't find it here, like I said, you can go and install it from wordpress.org,

but generally if you search for Astro, you'll find it.

Now I'm going to click install now here it says update failed.

Now let's see why.

Now let's just click on Update.

All right, so I just went ahead and activated it.

So if you see that update failed message, just go back and go for back and forth and try to click install

once more.

And it will.

It should work.

So here my plugin or my theme was installed.

I'm just going to click on Activate from here and we will activate the theme.

But first off, once we activate the theme, we're going to have to go ahead and remove all of the other

themes which are not really necessary for us.

So click on Activate once more.

Just wait a second because it can take some time for the theme to get installed because the theme is

not like a plugin.

Right.

So here we have this message as well.

All right.

So from time to time, we're going to get bored with this message.

But anyways, let's just go over here to themes and I guess we can actually see that it's already activated,

even though it showed us that error message.

So over here you can click customize the theme.

But first off, to make our website faster, I'm going to click on the other themes and I'm going to

delete them one by one because they're not really that good and we don't really need them besides.

So here I'm just going to click delete, click on each one of those themes and delete and only keep

the theme which you want to use.

So here you can click on start the templates and you can see that starter templates integrates very

well with our theme.

So we're going to go build our website.

Now over here we're using Elementor and I highly recommend you to install this particular one here.

So here, outdoor adventure, this is the exact same one that I used for my website.

So this is ready to go website.

So with the click of a button, if you click on it, you'll be able to install it.

Now over here, they're going to prompt you to upload your logo and to add all that stuff.

But no, just click, skip and continue over here.

You can see the default colors.

Now we can modify those colors later.

Now over here, when it comes to the font, I like this font, so I'm just going to keep it, okay?

And I want you to do the same.

So click continue and over here you can submit information about yourself.

So here, just add your first name and stuff and email and the rest of that stuff and click submit and

build my website and just don't really agree to their newsletter because that's not really necessary.

So here the website is being built.

So right now it's installing a ready to go website and you just have to wait for about 2 to 3 minutes

for it to be installed because it's a website, not just a plugin.

All right, So now it's 100%, but sometimes some people might really struggle here and it happens to

me.

It already actually had happened to me a lot of times.

Sometimes a particular website or a template does not get installed right.

And even if you try it now for those reasons, I highly recommend you to contact support if you weren't

able to install this template.

If you were unfortunate not to be able to install it, contact the support you can use the hosting or

chat.

You can chat with their bot and if the bot doesn't respond to your queries, you can actually go and

chat with someone from customer support.

Now over here I'm going to click view my website and you can see that we have a fully functional website

already.

So the website is already stunning.

All we need to do is to edit it.

Now here it's actually pretty slow and it's not it's not showing the images over here for some reason,

but that's not a big deal because we're going to edit that.

So right now, let's go ahead and continue building this lovely website.

Not much is left.

There's only about an hour and a half for you to be able to complete this lovely website.
