All language subtitles for 67 Body Translation

This is tutorial number 67 and it covers how to use the body translation feature within

KT-AV5. To start off, open up tutorial part number 67 which is located on the DVD.

Now once you have it loaded, to find the body translation, click insert, transformation features,

and click translation. So what we're going to be doing in this tutorial is we're going to

translate this body here that we've already extruded out. Now this is the same as the translation

that we did with the sketches. The only difference though is that in the sketches we use a sketch,

in this case we're going to be using a body and we're able to translate it in 3D rather than just 2D.

So to start off, let's try to translate this. Let's click insert, transformation feature, click translate, click yes,

and to start off, what we're going to be doing is just selecting some of these planes. So let's click the XY plane

and let's tell it to translate it 100. You can see the preview, click OK, and it's translated 100 up.

Now let's click insert and let's translate it again.

In this time let's do it along the YZ plane, do 100 again, click OK, and you can see in the tree you slowly get a buildup of the translation.

So you kind of keep each step as you're going and you can go back into it and edit it. So say we want to make this 200, we can make it 200.

Now let's do another translation, so let's click insert, translation. Now rather than using the planes, you're also able to use faces.

So let's click this face here and we're going to translate it normal to that face.

So as you can see it's going normal to there, we're doing 200, click OK, and we're able to translate it down.

Now this tool allows you to move around your part after you've made it into position if you have a position that you need it to be in, specific to the origin.

So this allows you to move around your part into the position that it's needed to be in. And that concludes our tutorial on how to use the body translation within KT of E5.
