February 5th, 2021.

And it was the day

that I literally took everything
out of my bank accounts.

in these certain circles

that there were opportunities
to be able to grow,

to buy, to learn.

into a physical financial
institution, bank branch.

There was like a physical
investment advisor

who took on your account.

So not everybody off
the street with $5

who wanted to own Apple
could do such a thing.

And that's led to massive
inequality in who holds stocks.

Something like 10% of people
hold 70% of the stocks

in the stock market.

And I knew a little

been a time in US history

where it's as black and
white as it is right now

where you have a
subset of people

that are doing better than ever.

And then there's
another set of people

for whom it's literally worse
than the Great Depression.

Something like half of Americans
don't have $600 in savings.

There is this like
paradox of risk taking

that for a lot of people,

the less money they have,

the more precarious
their financial position,

the more willing they are

to take a huge financial risk.

- Being an immigrant,

you don't understand
how the laws work.

You don't understand
a whole lot of things.

When we first moved out here,

there was an opportunity

for me to get a social
security number.

My mom got one, my dad got one.

Me and my sister,

neither one of us got
social security numbers.

So I get to college with
good grades and everything.

But they say, no.

What's the next step?

I can't go to college.

I'm gonna try to work.

I'm gonna try to make money.

- [Neusa] Lasik, you
stay for four years-

- LaserShip, I worked
there for four years,

until the IRS
caught up with them

and they got in trouble

for having all these
undocumented drivers

and everybody at that
company got fired, right?

I worked at Pizza
Hut, got fired.

I worked at Subway, got fired.

I worked the Taco
Bell, got fired.

I go to this job,
I'm getting fired.

I go to that job,
I'm getting fired.

- That hurt me,

- Because I was trying-

- So if nobody's
gonna gimme a job,

I'll create my own job
and that's what I did.

I don't have a social

And in math there's one
right answer for everyone.

No matter who you are, where
you're from, how old you are,

four for everybody.

And so much of real world
finance is just, it's not that.

It's just so tied to
your unique personality.
