always seen eye to eye,

you loved him more,

you would be more inclined to
send him into the trenches.

What an extraordinary
thing to say.

But I find it extraordinary

that so many people
seem to think

that sending or not sending
someone to die

should be considered
proof of love.

someone very much

and be very close to them

to be able to face the
prospect of them dying.

I envy those parents who
are so close to their sons

their relationship will
go on even after death.

I know that if I were
to lose James

I should lose everything.

So in that sense, yes,

sending him back to the trenches
would be a proof of love.
