I think because he was so young,

I've been afraid
to imagine my own future.

And I've let it hold me back
from so many opportunities.

I am a writer.

It is my calling,

it is in my bones,

This is about my own fear.

I have been so afraid
to do what I love

or be with someone
that I love

because what if
I lose them, too?

I am done living in fear.
