This building, the City Hall, houses the

headquarters of a small staff of men and

women who daily face the colossal task of

answering those questions.

An endless variety of those questions.

I have here a case to

be unfolded for you.

We've selected this not just as an

example of how the missing

person's detail operates,

but because we think it also tells the

story of a very

interesting and unusual young woman.

Her name is Claudia, and her story really

begins before the missing

person's office entered the case.

It begins the night Claudia married a

young automobile

salesman named Philip Rankin.
