Monthly summary of Russian
occupants' losses for October 2023.

Russian commanders ordered their troops to
intensify offensive activity in October,

especially in the Avdiivka area,
which led to a sharp increase in

Russian troops losses. Throughout
October, several very high rates

of destruction of Russian equipment were
achieved, and records were set as well.

In particular, a record-breaking number
of tanks were destroyed - 521 units.

These numbers became possible due to the
disproportionate increase in the enemy's

tank forces, as the restoration of the
same armored vehicles occurs in roughly

the same volumes as that of the main battle
tanks. It is for this reason that tanks,

which are increasingly performing
functions not typical for them,

especially in offensive operations,
are more frequently destroyed.

Not a record, but very, very high losses
of Armoured fighting vehicles - 843 units.

Russia had such high losses in the
category of armored vehicles only

in the first months of the full-scale invasion.

This dramatic increase in casualties is also
due to overestimation of the capabilities

of its troops, even in the context of a
narrow front offensive, and the absence

of a number of accompanying factors that
enhance assault operations. For example,

the lack of a full-fledged "firing
rampart" in the offensive and defense.

In October, the second result was set for the
number of destroyed enemy artillery - 773 units.

This figure confirms the high intensity of
artillery duels and the level of counter-battery

warfare, in which the Russian side is
qualitatively inferior but continues to maintain a

numerical advantage through the rapid withdrawal
from storage of Soviet artillery reserves.

Fuel tankers and motor transport demonstrated a
non-record but very high, third-highest figure in

the entire period of the full-scale invasion
of Ukraine - 741 units of motor transport.

Motor transport continues to be one of the
most striking indicators of the Ukrainian

Liberation Forces' performance in enemy
logistics. It should be particularly noted

that the predominant part of the destroyed
units are not specialized vehicles. Russian

troops have serious problems with fully
compensating for losses in this category,

and are getting out of the situation
at the expense of the civilian sector.

And finalizing the review of the enemy's
losses for October, it is impossible not

to note the high rate of elimination of
the occupants' personnel - almost 23,000.

This is the second figure for the entire period of
the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. It is caused

not only by the apathetic attitude of the Russian
command to the lives of its soldiers, but also by

an acute lack of equipment, which does not allow
to staff units, for the full performance of combat

tasks. And the equipment that is available is
often so outdated in its characteristics that

it has long been morally unsuitable for
effective use in the current conditions.

It is worth noting that this issue
comprehensively affects all categories

of losses, as a result of which they will
be predisposed to high rates in the future
