Welcome back.

In this chapter, we're going to be color
grading Tuesday on Earth, which is a sci

fi short film.

This is different scenes
and a lot of really cool challenges

when it comes to color grading.

So if you're looking for a challenge, here
we go.

That said, I'm going to be walking through

all of the aspects of grading this movie
from start to finish.

We are going to skip around a little bit
because some of it gets a little bit

repetitive
and you can kind of work on stuff

on your own for homework
and you can always open up

my finished timeline
and figure out how I approached a shot.

So let's take a closer look at what
we're going to be dealing with here.

So in our media pool, in the upper left
hand corner,

go to media pool
and under a Tuesday on earth,

double click on Tuesday on Earth start.

I'm going to open up Cassie's grades

so that I can work on this project
and you can look at it later.

But everything else
will be exactly the same.

So maybe I'll say Cassie's grade.
Your should say start.

So once we have that open,
it should look something like this.

We have 94 shots in the film,
including credits,

and we're in a few different environments.

We have our drone shot in the beginning,
some bike shots at dusk,

and then we transition
into these nighttime shots

out at the crash site, heavily
lit by this magenta key light.

We have a data night conversion here,

which we can make a little bit better
with color grading.

We have a scene of them
in the living room talking

and with all the stuff
kind of floating around,

peeking into a

couple other rooms, a couple of close up
shots are picking things up.

And then we have the last scene
at the bathroom door

and eventually he comes in
and the aliens flushed down the toilet.

Too bad for our little friend.

So this is a pretty big project,
pretty ambitious if you're new to resolve

a new two color grading,

but this should give you
some really good practice footage

so you can go as deep as you want
with your color grading knowledge.
