In this lesson, we'll take a look
at the concept of texture

and how we can enhance texture using color
grading.

Texture is one of those things
that just makes things more interesting.

Like,
think about what a different kind of image

this would be if this road wasn't
so rough.

We didn't have kind of these drippy stains
all over this.

This would be a very different
feeling image.

And same over here.

If this were a brand new look
without any kind of wear and tear on it.

If this was a really shiny fence,

it would have a very different
feeling than what it does now.

So just like color tones
affect the mood of an image.

The different textures
also kind of give it a different feeling

and a lot of texture
has to do with contrast.

So in the next lesson,
we're going to take a look

at how we can adjust the texture of things

with some secondary contrast adjustments.
