It was simply
the name of a demon.

But to speak it aloud was
to risk the wrath of the beast,

and so the word became flesh,

and the flesh
became a book,

the Necronomicon.

Legend told that
within its pages,

hidden between ancient rituals
and archaic superstitions,

lay a spell so powerful
that to merely decipher it

was enough to drive
the reader insane.

One night,
as the clouds gathered

at yet another battle
for the soul of mankind,

the Necronomicon
simply disappeared.

Centuries passed,
and the name of Beli-al faded

into the darkest recesses
of time.
